We were greeted warmly and encouraged to look around. The auction connected to the event was taking place later in the weekend. Since there are probably MILLIONS of dollars of art here, there is a buzzer system, so one cannot just walk in, and a reservation or sign up is required. I sent Katie a photograph of a famous baseball player Honus Wagner and I even provided a well-known Wikipedia photo of him. They were an identical match I've shared this photograph with many people. No one has ever doubted it, but they looked at it for just a couple of minutes without even explaining any processes that they did to try to identify or prove that it wasn't the famous baseball player instead, they referred me to somebody else. I'm not sure how they complete their process of being an appraiser of photographs, although I can say that they were able to identify the chair he was sitting in it was from around 1874 so if you have any photographs of chairs from that era, they may be able to help you with that

My eyes were looking everywhere. The items were diverse and displayed beautifully. There were several vignettes that created their wares perfectly. I love all of the wine decanters. Unfortunately the pricing was extremely elevated. Although the items were lovely, I just felt the prices were a bit out of line. The owner was there today. She was very friendly and helpful. I wish I could have given her a sale' as I truly believe in small businesses. It is still a fantastic shop of unique items.

I received billing for shipping through Wright Shipping, which uses only third-party shippers. They recommend shippers and then you pay separtely. Fine. I went with UPS. When the package was routed to the wrong place, I was left twisting in the wind and told that I would have to pay additional charges to actually get it delivered. Wright made no attempt to resolve the situation, help me, wave repeated additional fees, or intervene. I had an account at Christie's in NYC and London for decades and, trust me, they did not act like this. I would suggest that they either provide minimal service (like reading emails) or waive one-of-the-heftiest-in-the-business buyer's premiums. I copied Kevin in their shipping deprtment on all correspondence and he did not contact me. When I called him, his attitude was . . . "well, what do you want me to do." I made several suggestions including calling his colleague Julie at the UPS store . . . "oh, I spoke to her this morning . . . she says just pay a charge and they'll refund it to you." Right, because they've been so honest and so proactive all along. God knows if I will ever get my auction item and God knows if Toomey's description will be halfway accurate.
