When he called to enquire about an exchange, he was simply given the phone number of the manufacturer and told that they take no responsibility for damage during shipping. Considering that they made no effort whatsoever to ship it safely, it seems that their policy is to take your money, slap a label on the box and leave it to luck if you get what you ordered in working condition. And if not, well, you're on your own. All this despite their e-bay ad clearly stating that they take returns. I don't know how they handle their merchandise in-store but if you're considering having something shipped, I'd recommend finding a more responsible company to work with.

Downtown Hardware lacks the wood floors and high ceilings that I remember from the hardware stores of my childhood, but it fills the bill with its inventory and its staff. Best of all, it's efficient. When I need something specific, I can walk into the store, tell the young staff what I need, and be out the door with my purchase in roughly the same time it would take me to park my car at that big-box home improvement store that often doesn't even stock whatever it is I was looking for. Yes, I'm a fan, and I hope that Downtown Hardware stays in business forever.

I was told that a new carb kit had been installed and that they were going to have to order other parts. I finally picked it up yesterday after receiving no updates. I took it to J&J Small Engine in Clinton, Tn. He fixed the problem in one day. He told me that no new parts had been installed on my generator, as I was told.
