I was thinking a place of this caliber would have nicer employees. But that was further from what I experienced. Maybe because I walked in with a T shirt and cargo shorts. Or maybe because she was snooty and thought she was better than me. Well she should've seen the movie Pretty Woman. Because you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. I was looking for new flatware. And I was ready to buy. At $50 plus per serving. I wanted eight servings. Which maybe I'm not bright enough to do the math. Let's ask the rude employee who didn't and wouldn't give us her name. To give you some context of what happened I will tell you I walked in with 30 minutes left before closing. It's close to the time. But not that close. I was the only person in the store and I couldn't get an employee to help me out. I finally said out loud is there anyone who wants to help me out. There were two employees there. Both having their own conversation at the cashier drawer. Mind you the flatware is within 15 feet of the cash drawer. She came over and asked what I needed. And I tried to ask a few questions. She kept walking away as she was answering. And I said hold up. I have other questions. And she did the same thing. She wouldn't give me the attention of a shopper. Finally she said from a distance of about 15 feet, maybe you should go to Williams Sonoma. But I'm here. This is where I walked into. Why would she push me away to another store. Even if the Williams Sonoma is a sister store. I'm here. And I wanted to buy here. She repeated herself a few times about it would be better for me to go there. So I finally gave up and left. It is very rude of someone to treat me that way. When I was ready to buy. For the record. I was in the store July 27,2025 at half hour to closing. Only two employees were there. And it was the shorter of the two employees. She wouldn't give us her name. Because a proper greeting which I never received was not in her vocabulary. Let me tell you, I spend a lot of money at the pottery barn. They DO have quality merchandise but let's be real...They are incredibly overpriced and expensive. If they had friendlier people that worked at this location perhaps I might enjoy spending all the money I do there but unfortunately their people are not nice. I haven't had one encounter with anyone who works there who is nice and not snobby. Do they intentionally hire snobby people? If you go over to West Elm, which is owned by the same company, the people there are completely different. West elm people are friendly and nice and human. Yes I will continue to go to this pottery barn but I will hate every minute that I'm there because of their staff. SNOBBY. read more

Purchased 2 Abbott Acacia outdoor benches. 4 years old now. One of them is rotted in the center with holes and mushrooms growing underneath the middle support. Called pottery barn and said the warranty was only for 1 year. I recommend never purchasing anything made from wood that is to be used outdoors from PB. It won't hold up. Unacceptable customer service. I bought a very expensive coffee table one year and two weeks ago. I waited for 40 minutes to get a supervisor on the phone. I wanted all new dishes, and ordered them from Pottery Barn - online. There was a shipping problem (damaged goods) and their Customer Service people were not much help. I ordered dishes, platters, serving pieces. A lot of money. They split it into multiple shipments and put some on backorder. One shipment was damaged - the bowl arrived in 20 pieces. I called and was told 'we can only give you a refund. You will have to re-order it yourself or go to a local store'. Wait a minute!! Why make it my problem to solve? Any other retailer would ship me a replacement, no charge. Lousy service. Sorry I bought from them. read more

My mom and I had a great experience shopping at Pottery Barn on November 12th. I noticed that there were associates arranging Christmas displays, but each one greeted us and asked if we needed help. We already knew exactly what we wanted since we had previously scoped out the catalogue at home. They had gorgeous Christmas trees, ornaments, and poinsettias throughout the store. My favourites were the Christmas bedding and stockings. We ordered Flannel Snowmen sheets ($65 sheets, $30 pillowcases) to be delivered to our house. They arrived in 2-3 days with no shipping fee! We also purchased a beautiful Statue of Liberty Ornament ($9) for a stocking stuffer and a fuzzy grey buffalo checkered throw. ($48) The blonde cashier was very helpful and gave us the discount since collectively we spent $100 on our 3 separate purchases. read more

Please shop small businesses that are local. Pottery barn is so bad with customer service. Their refund policy does not exist for what they tell you, they charge you delivery unbroken pieces and then they will not refund you. They will charge you delivery, even if a package or a piece of furniture, any item has not even shipped. It's a shame because stores of this nature just won't last because eventually people will just stop shopping with them. They will not refund my shipping charge of $193 because they're telling me before it was canceled. It began to ship, to no knowledge that I have. My shipping date was set for February 2. I canceled the order January 22. Previously, I've had orders placed with them pieces came broken and I still had to pay that delivery charge. I am so fed up with their customer service and how they do not tell you anything upfront only what they want to do. The worst experience ever with them. read more

pottery barn is not a very creditable place to shop. I made a purchase and they insisted I had to pay delivery charges. I canceled my order and they will not refund my delivery charges for $193. I canceled the order before my delivery was made to me, they never once told me that they would not refund delivery. To give them $193 for no reason is simply appalling! Last year I ordered a bed from them and had to pay white glove shipping, which took me six months to get because all the beds that they did ship to me actually five of them were completely broken. Finally, the men put two of the broken beds together to make one. What kind of service does the store like this offer ? I am canceling my accounts with all of them. Please shop local businesses. . DO NOT ORDER FROM POTTERY BARN IN PINECREST LYNDHURST OHIO. Ordered two items in September for delivery in October. One item got back ordered, one item was shipped to their warehouse in October, it is waiting there. First item was back-ordered another month. Then another month. Then another month - we are now into next year. We asked to have the item in their warehouse shipped to us and not wait for the other. Response: "No, they won't split the order". "They" must be their headquarters. "They" won't spring for the delivery cost for one item while the other item is delayed 3 month. Pottery Barn is INFLEXIBLE and the staff at Pinecrest have NO INFLUENCE over anything at their company. So we wait and wait. AVOID AVOID AVOID. read more

Do not order furniture from here. I ordered a coffee table and two custom chairs in MARCH- still have not received. The chairs are custom and I am unable to cancel - so basically it's "sorry not sorry". Supposedly they are in production...... but they keep pushing delivery back. Arhaus has WAY better customer service. Pottery Barn blames the pandemic- but if you ask around this has been their practice for years. Constantly taking orders they cannot fulfill timely. I truly feel for their customer service people. This is a terrible company. *chairs pushed back AGAIN- September 10th new estimate. So if that happens delivery will have taken seven months. recently ordered a couch from Pottery Barn and I have been met with nothing but frustration. I was never notified that my custom order was ready to be scheduled for delivery. I happened to figure this out when checking the status one day. I quickly contacted them to schedule and they sent me to a third party company to schedule my delivery called Werner Final Mile. This delivery company should go out of business. Absolutely horrible customer service. They are impossible to get on the phone, they make you leave a message which they will not return. They finally scheduled a day and emailed a delivery time frame, but don't trust it because they will no show, no call. Then they will tell you they will deliver it a few days later via email, because they won't answer your calls. Then when you call Pottery Barn to assist you, they will only transfer you back to Werner Final Mile, to be placed in voicemail hell, because they won't answer. I've been trying to schedule the deliver of my expensive couch for 3 weeks, yet it still isn't here. Not worth the cost!! The fact that they would even trust a company like this to delivery their products tells you that they don't believe in their products nor care about their customer! read more

I've used this Pottery Barn three times and I've always had excellent customer service with the men working there. Our first time there we wanted a lamp that was not in stock but the male associate took the time to start calling Pottery Barns and seeing if any of them had the lamp in stock to send to us until we were able to find one and get it ordered. Associates seem friendly and helpful; I do sometimes wonder if the female sales associate isn't following you around when you're a solo shopper in there though? read more

Hate to say that the associates make shopping here quite unpleasant. Came to buy a few blankets, saw some on display and needed additional colors- simple enough of a task. Came to checkout, saw one associate ringing clients up. Saw a woman arranging items on a table and approached her - was told that she does DISPLAYS ONLY and can't help. Saw one more woman walking by, asked if she has a moment for a quick question, she waved me me away (!!!) and said she's busy. I asked her for her name and only then did she turn around and walked towards me asking if I need help. So, overall, PB should probably look into training their associates, especially considering clientele and price points NO ONE wants to spend this money and feel like the sales people are doing them a favor. DONT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM. I ordered a bed and had it delivered. There were many issues. First, they were supposed to call the night before. They called 30 minutes before they came. I was getting a new bed so I had to take my old bed apart and move the mattress and stuff in 30 minutes. Second I paid to have them set the bed up, but when they got here they said that they couldn't. First they even told me they were just gonna leave it on my front porch. I had to convince them to bring it inside... The bed was to be set up on the third floor, but they put 1/4 of the parts on the landing on the second floor. They told me to call customer service. I did and they told me they were supposed to set it up. They called the drivers and they said that there wasn't enough room. If they had told me that i would have helped them move stuff around even though there was plenty of room. Third customer service was "helping" me reschedule the set up. They scheduled it 4 DAYS LATER. At this point my room is in disarray, I have no bed set up, I have animals who continually are trying to play with the bed parts, and they didn't leave an instruction manual so I couldn't set it up myself. I had to call customer service again to try and get the instruction manual to build it myself. They told me they didn't have access to one. This all happened in the span 3 hours this morning and now I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I paid extra for at home assembly and they just left the parts on two separate floors. read more
