Received $25.00 key rewards and planned on purchasing the rose colored heirloom scalloped heart shaped serving platter. There was one platter on display and none in stock. The sales associate informed she could not sell the platter since that was the only one left and needed for display. She could order and have shipped to my home but there would be a shipping fee which seemed unfair. Pottery Barn in Old Orchard had 4 so I purchased from them. I'm Only using this as it's the closest location. I returned a $900 rug back in early July and I still have not received my refund. They told me the check was sent in early August. Fourth follow up and now they're trying to tell me that it cleared their bank. Which is a lie because they couldn't prove it. I agreed to a store credit instead to at least not lose money but it never came. You can't email them so there's never a paper trail and you get fake fictitious names when speaking to people working from home. Their customer service is horrendous. read more

My experience was hell! Literally hell. For a store that is sooooooo grossly overpriced their customer service is terrible. Ordered a 2k rug. Was told it shouldn't take more than a week and then found out that a month and a half would be delivered date. I canceled right when I received the correct delivery date which was like one day after I ordered. They at first refused to refund me . I had to sit on the phone for an hour before a person could even find my order. After another hour they finally agreed that it was their fault and I should be refunded and they told me I could only get a gift card. And trust me the gift card was hell to get from them !!!!! Another hour spent on the phone with them arguing over a gift card and that you can't use for shit ! It is insane ! Read the fine print with pottery barn returns because they will make your life a living hell. You are better off ordering from Amazon !!! *We purchased a couch from Pottery Barn for $5605.75. *Upon delivery, we noticed the couch to be damaged. *Also, the delivery team damaged a brand new door and molding. (photos available) *Pottery Barn took the damaged portion of the Sectional couch and told us the would clean/repair it. *Pottery Barn claimed they fixed the damaged spot and would delivery it again. Upon delivery, we noticed that the couch had not been touched and was still damaged. *Pottery Barn admitted that the couch was not touched and told us they would make us a brand new couch. Once thei alleged new couch came in, Pottery Barn set usp a final delivery for us. Upon receiving the " new" couch we noticed it was the exact same couch that was damaged and they just tried to pawn off this damage couch on us. We immediately refused delivery. It's honestly unbelievable how the staff treat people here just based on their looks or their age. My fiancé and I purchased a $4,000 couch from Pottery Barn a couple months ago and today we went into the store to look around since we're furnishing our new home. Not one person asked us if we needed help or even said hello, just a few rude and disgusted looks. The company should teach their employees not to immediately judge people as soon as they walk in because you never know who someone is or what they're financially able to purchase based on their appearance. After 25 minutes of looking for someone to help us and having multiple staff walk by and not acknowledge us, we left. The only reason I am giving even one star is because the designer there is fantastic. Aside from that, they are the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my entire life. We ordered thousands in furniture and months later still have only received a few of the products. In addition, one of our biggest issues has been "lost" items. They are missing an entire entertainment center and carpet, you can guess how much that costs! WORST PART-Just today we got two items from the order, one was horribly wobbly and had a broken woods plank. We have spent HOURS on the phone with customer care and NOTHING. They invent new rules every single time I walk in to push me around to other associates even if they are not busy. Want to thank Pottery Barn in Deer Park for saving me $2500 today by doing a bait and switch. When I came back to check on delivery time, changing their minds and saying there is no sale, giving me a different chair option and saying that they will give me a discount after delivery when I call some never seen manager Mary a few weeks later. But that deal was IF I buy the chair right now and with a bunch of their attitude. Obviously they decided that I had spent enough money on my previous purchases there and they don't need my business. She would not give me any information as she is not "Customer Service center". I told her that the associate in the baby store was able to help me with the order I placed online and she responded "that's great". Who does that!!!! Went to purchase a table and received snooty service from the only visible person working in this store. The table was slightly above my budget and asked if they had a sale or an upcoming sale. The sales person was irritated by the question and walked to a register giving the impression she was looking up the price. I realized she was just ignoring us. I might have purchased it anyway if she had shown any interest in me as a valued customer willing to throw down $900.00 for a table! It shouldn't matter if I buy a napkin ring or a house full of furniture from your store, I am a customer who deserves appropriate service. Was on a mission one night to find thee perfect bistro table for our front porch... After striking out at American Sales, Walmart, Sears Hardware, & Crate & Barrel (cause they closed early, big mistake), Pottery Barn came to the rescue with a drop dead floor sample offering. So they had this gorgeous 36" round bistro table with hand painted ceramic tiles set in concrete for a prim and proper look fit for any home on the North Shore. To top that, it was discounted 60%. Nikki the sales person was very helpful as she knocked off another 20%! We said deal, backed the truck up and took it home ASAP. It fits great and looks like a million bucks! read more

Purchased an overpriced outdoor dining set for over $4000 last Spring. Less than one year later the set looks horrible. Followed up with corporate customer service and was told the best they could do would be to offer a discount if wanted to buy another set.After doing some research I found that the paint process was done incorrectly which caused the finish to peal off. The set was manufactured in Asia at the same factories that produce the same product for other US retailers. Unfortunately for us we decided to shop at Pottery Barn rather than at another retailer that chooses to stand behind their product,,,NEVER AGAIN. I placed an order for a couch 1-month before moving. I was assured by the sales women that the couch would be delivered the first week after I moved. It's been 3-weeks since I moved and told it will be another 3-weeks until I receive the couch. The store was understaffed and I had to wait a considerable amount of time before I was helped. The store was not busy at this point. Every time I check my order status online, I get a different result on the expected delivery date. You are paying expensive prices for style, not necessarily quality. Customer service is a joke, and they'll give you a BS line to get a sale. read more

Customer service around returns is horrible. An in-store designer helped me to select and order an item, the item was the wrong size when it arrived. They would not refund the $50 shipping charge despite the circumstances. I had originally paid for the item in part with a gift card. When processing my return, they gave me back the gift card, but kept the shipping charge on my credit card, not allowing me to use the gift card to cover the cost of the shipping. read more

Marie said she has one in stock but can not get to it and will have it ready tomorrow. She made sure it was the Grayson. :) today I picked up my chair no problem. On Friday June 26 we were at the Deer Park location. The customer service rep told us if we were interested in the Lilo Chambray comforter it was going on sale the next day for 40% off and she would hold it for us. I asked her if it is on sale if I could return. She said yes. I went into the store the next day. A different clerk found my items in the back room. When I asked her if she was ringing it up for the 40% discount she told me it was not on sale. She went and had the clerk who quoted us the 40% come and speak to us. She said she could only give us 20% off and I said that she had quoted us at 40% off. She said if we wanted the 40% then it would be a final sale. She tried calling the manager Mary and the manager would not respond. I told the clerk shame on you pottery barn I did what you had asked. I had you put the items on hold and returned the next day with the information that if it did not fit I could return the items. Ironically the clerk had asked us to come back to the store and not order on line to ensure the stores stay open. Again I did as asked and they would not honor their commitment to me. They purposely made it non returnable so that I would walk out. I did walk out and will not return to this store again. I feel I was treated unfairly. I did not ask for anything other than what PB has promised me. I sent an email and the response I received was that the email was only good for online purchase. Not sure if anyone else has a this kind of experience but I think the store manager Mary should have stepped to the counter to address and make the situation right. I have been a long time shopper at this store and had purchased chairs and was also planning on purchasing 2 ottomans but will not be doing so. This was not a good shopping experience. read more

Pottery Barn-Deer Park ... Worst customer service ever!! I bought two decorative Christmas trees - cost, $199.00 each. The two trees had lights on them. I asked if they would please check to make sure the lights worked before I purchased and took the trees home. They did so but were visibly put-off. One of the two tree light sets did not work because it was in need of batteries. They proceeded to put in the batteries and the tree lights worked. Satisfied, I shopped the store a bit more then bought the items. I brought the trees home and attempted to turn on the lights...one of the tree light sets did not work. They took the batteries out of one if the trees and did not bother to tell me! Really? I paid more than enough for these trees - throwing in the batteries should be a no brainer. Actually surprised they did not take the batteries out of the other tree. Thus is the second bad experience I have had with the staff in this store. I will never shop that location again. read more

Paying the prices that this store asks for its product, one should assume certain details: the safe and accurate delivery of what was ordered, and reliable and timely customer service. This store screwed up our order and charged us. We are still waiting on a refund of almost two thousand dollars months later. We had ordered two chairs at this store, assured that they would be quickly delivered to our home. We got an email two weeks later that the order would not be available for another 6 months. We quickly cancelled our order. Even though the employee cancelled the order, Pottery Barn still delivered one chair to our home and charged us for BOTH chairs. This order had been cancelled almost two months before a chair showed up at our house (the one that was cancelled months before). When we called the store, they apologized and claimed the money would be refunded after the chairs were back at the warehouse--even though we only had one chair. The customer service at this store is shameful. Save yourself time and money and shop next door at Crate and Barrel who was more than happy to help us find the right product for our home. I ordered a sectional from the store because the staff raved that if you order through them, they will assist with the order and follow up with delays etc. Well... of course I do NOT get any notice (email or call) that my order was delayed nor a clear idea when it will arrive. When I called the store to follow up on my behalf, it takes almost two weeks for them to get back to me and only to say "nothing they can do, it will take be another 2 months." This is after we have already waited 2 months! I have always been a huge fan of Pottery Barn and am only using this store as it is my local. I ordered the modular bath storage bins ($600+) online back on 9/8/11. I received the 5 bins I ordered, but the cheapest part, the base feet at only @24.95 each have yet to arrive, almost 6 months after the fact. I have gone round and round and round with Mary, their Customer Care Rep. They have offered rebates and discounts, but all I really want is the delivery of the remaining order. They have done nothing but blame the "vendor". What they don't get is that i ordered from Pottery Barn, not some vendor I never heard of. This company is the worst! I ordered furniture and was told it would be delivered white glove. They insure it's good quality. The table came that way but the chairs were delivered UPS. I took off work because I didn't want them left outside. They didn't come the day they said and when they did come two were broken. We called UPS to have them returned. Four months later they said they never got back the chairs and are charging me for broken chairs. This is six months after the original order and want me to prove I didn't keep their broken chairs. Each time I can I get a different answer from a different person. If they delivered the chairs as they promised they would have their "Proof". Absolutely ridiculous! read more

My review is for the customer service I received from Mary, the manager and Pam, a sales associate. I had a very complicated order that involved numerous phone calls on their end to corporate to straighten it out. I worked in customer service myself for a long time and know how difficult it is. That's why I had to write this review. These two did everything but get on a plane and fly to corporate themselves to handle my problem. I was in the store and heard each phone call they made on my behalf. I received confirmation tonight that all is well and the order went through. I'll update this review later if it falls apart or product falls short of expectations.....which I hope doesn't happen. I was a difficult customer, I realize it, but neither one of them made me feel uncomfortable or showed any distress. They were both gracious under pressure and showed me my satisfaction was important to them. I wish the other store employees were as gracious and elegant as these two, I was really treated shabbily by another manager and salesperson just a few days ago. These two were the reason I ordered my chairs....they made up for the lack of empathy the other two showed. read more
