    Warped floors. Scratched floors

Do not buy Kingston Pike from Floor and Decor. Product mislabeling, false warranties, horrible customer service, and lawyers is what you get. Along with floors that need to be replaced after a few months. Purchased the Kingston Pike and had it professionally installed by a wood-worker, because they don't provide an instal service. (even though they say anyone can do it with a saw and rubber hammer). The floor state Water PROOF. Scratch resistant. Commercial flooring. Easy clean. The sales associate literally took his keys out to scratched the sample, and I was amazed. Seeing all of these selling points surely had me sold. Saying you can drop basically anything and it will be ok. FALSE. The store manager even pointed out the floor care section and showed me their tip floor Bona mops. Because you want to take the best care of your brand new floors in your new home. Unbeknown to me, you can't use spray mop-like cleaning products on laminate flooring. PRODUCT MISLABELING. Even through it's on their website saying you can. Shortly after my floors were installed and everyday life activities, I saw the floors becoming less and less appealing every day. From dropping something as simple as house keys turned my floors into a very undesirable aspect of my new home. Routine cleaning with the spray mop, that was provided by the store manager, turned one nightmare into another. I started to see my floors warping, bubbling, and becoming unhinged, along with my patience. I filed a claim with the warranty dept, which they gave me a small amount of money for the scratches, dings, dents, chips, and surface issues with the floor. I then had to filed a second claim with the warranty department for the WATER PROOF aspect. Upon weeks of supervisors, claims specialists, professional flooring inspectors, Floor and Decor stated that the spray mop and "over cleaning" was causing my floors to bubble and become warped. A commercial grade floor, that is labeled water proof, scratch resistant, and is one of their higher end products are saying it's damaged by a Bona mop. Mindless, they stated "anyone can instal these floors if you have a saw. They' fit together like lego pieces and you just cut to fit". Well, I wanted my floors too look the best they could in my new home, so I hired a professional. A professional who built custom products and was a lead carpenter for ABT in Glenview for years and has never had a single issue with satisfaction. Months later, upon multiple pictures, emails, phone calls, inspectors who all agreed with me, Floor and Decor told me to hire an attorney to sue them for mislabeling and faulty product. Now I to have my floors removed, trim taken up, new floors put in, trim back in and repainted/caulked on my own because of misrepresentation, horrible customer care, and faulty product. So, I'm the end, go to Loews because you get what you pay for there. Professionalism, quality, honesty, and a product that is as it's labeled falsley.

We spent hours and hours here when we renovated our apartment. They have a big choice of everything, especially tiles. It is so hard to decide! The service is great, variety of tiles/other floors is big, plus all other things they offer make this place one of my favorite to shopping in.

Want to make a bold statement in your bathroom or kitchen? Tiles can easily give a facelift to any outdated decor that you are living with. Floor and Decor in Arlington Heights is a tile lover's dream with a huge selection of styles. We were renovating our kitchen but the budget didn't have room for new cabinets. Instead, we opted for a new tile backsplash, countertops, and flooring - all three which are available at Floor and Decor. I found simple and clean white subway tiles for only .15 cents a piece. It was exactly what I was looking for at a fraction of the cost. The store is huge and has a wide variety of styles and price ranges that can fit any budget. They had a wider selection than any of the big box stores and better pricing. I definitely recommend Floor and Decor for your next renovation.

We were warned repeatedly: "A kitchen remodel will be a nightmare--don't live there while it's…read morehappening!" That, along with a few other cautions, set our expectations before starting our project with Kitchen & Baths Unlimited. For my wife and me, however, the experience turned out very differently. We cannot say enough great things about Nancy (design), Owen (project management) and the entire team that meticulously executed the remodel. While I work from home and my wife commutes downtown, we decided to move forward with gutting and remodeling the vintage kitchen in our 100-year-old farmhouse in Evanston--and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Yes, the demolition phase was a bit loud, as expected. But after that, the usual construction noise--hammering and drilling--was manageable. The team did an excellent job minimizing disruption: adjacent rooms were carefully sealed to contain dust, wood floors were protected with panels, and window treatments were wrapped in plastic. Design selections were also made easy thanks to Nancy, who guided us through choosing colors, cabinets, and countertops that matched our vision. The result is a beautiful transformation from a neglected, dingy farmhouse kitchen into a bright, modern farmhouse space. The Italian tile backsplash complements the quartz countertops with subtle veining. The lower cabinets are a soft gray, while the upper cabinets are white, creating a clean and balanced look. We also upgraded our appliances and fixtures, including LED ceiling lights, a Bosch microwave drawer, a professional KitchenAid range with a matching hood featuring an infrared sensor, and a modern stainless-steel farmhouse sink with a gentle bow. Despite an initial delay with the permit office due to a previously applied for permit that KBU helped us manage, the project stayed on schedule. We made a few minor upgrades along the way, but thanks to Owen and Nancy's guidance, we remained on time and within our overall budget. The KBU crew was professional, punctual, and highly skilled. Communication was seamless--especially since I was working from home--which helped address questions quickly and keep the project moving efficiently. In the end, we passed all inspections and received written approval from the village within a day. For us, this remodel was a great success. Thank you to Nancy, Owen, Patricia, Rade, and the entire team! You are the BEST!

I worked with Julie (designer), her team led by Jesus, and of course, owner Owen. Jesus and his team were super hard workers, pleasant to deal with, trustworthy, and highly efficient and knowledgeable. Everything was overseen frequently by Owen. I was blown away with the gorgeous result and the seemlessness with which this project was completed! I highly recommend KBU to everyone!

She came over and took measurements and we discussed the projects I wanted completed. She was in my house for 1.5 hours! I sent her follow up emails with multiple pictures and design ideas I wanted to incorporate. She said she would follow up within 2 weeks. Now, 2 months later- nothing. I have sent follow up emails to the PM, called the PMs cell phone as well as the main business number leaving voicemails. No return calls or emails. Even a short message saying they are too busy to take on new projects would have been well received. Why even come over to my house to NOT give me a quote or follow up with me again?? This was the best design and the best design collaboration ever. Jessica listened to us and turned our ideas into something better! We know someone in the real estate business who recently shared that our kitchen is by far the best kitchen in the condo building, and he has been in many units. Our kitchen remodel turned into a kitchen, dining, and family room remodel. Walls were opened up and closets removed or reduced in size. The space was much more open, modern and beautiful! The mix of white and darker cabinets, of tile and accent tile, of appliances, and of lighting made it stunning! As with many remodel projects, and we have had many, there are sometimes surprises along the way. Jessica adapted quickly. In the end, even the owner stopped by as well to make sure we were fully satisfied. We cannot ask for more integrity in people. Reflecting back, we realize that we were blessed with a game-changing remodel at a very reasonable price. We had an opportunity to stop by their updated showroom recently and noticed a beautiful painting in one of the displays. We learned that it was done by one of their designers. This is a very talented team! We not only recommend Prestige as a design and construction firm, we recommend them as people who can make a difference in your home and in your life.

He helped us choose beautiful, high-quality materials within our budget. Also, he gave us great advice in choosing the colors that matched our bathroom theme. As for the actual construction, 4Ever were willing to work around our schedule. We were provided a calendar that included the entire schedule. The process was very smooth, and the disruption was minimal. All the workers were punctual, professional, and respectful. Everyone cleaned up the area before they left for the day. We were also impressed with the fact that some of them were even willing to work on weekends to keep up with the schedule. Moreover, the craftmanship is excellent, and all the workers are seasoned and highly skilled. 4Ever transformed our 2 full bathroom with a tub to a very beautiful walk-in shower. We were also impressed with how often and quickly the team communicated with us. Every week the team leader emailed the update and let us know the upcoming works of the following week. Moreover, our team leader always texted me in advance and let us know when the workers were coming. The team always answered my questions right away. Indeed 4Ever went the extra 10 miles for us. For example, after the remodeling was over, team leader stopped by and made sure that everything was organized and clean. We truly believe that 4Ever wants to make sure that their clients are satisfied completely. The care, service, and communication exceeded our expectations. Now we have a very beautiful bathroom, and we are very happy that we chose to work with 4Ever Remodeling. It was very pleasant to work with the team. We have a few more interior projects in the future, and we would like to work with 4Ever Remodeling again.

We paid $30k+ for a bathroom remodel and did not receive the design services, project management,…read moreor craftsmanship outlined in our contract. The contract specifies a clear process: design completion, written client approval, project schedule, parts ordering, then demolition. 4Ever did not follow this process at any stage. Our designer scheduled demolition before the design was approved. When she arrived for the contractor walkthrough, she claimed to not have received my voicemail or email requesting a design revision (included in the contract). She walked the contractor through the unapproved design and attempted to schedule work to start that Friday. When I objected, she claimed this was to stay on schedule with my contract. I had to quote the contract back to her via email, where it states "an updated start date and schedule will be provided during the design process." No project schedule was ever provided, despite the contract explicitly stating one would be. The designer then asked me to approve materials in Buildertrend with no final design, and told me NOT to refer to the design in Buildertrend to visualize my final bathroom because that design is "for the contractors" -- and to instead trust the studio samples. So I was supposed to commit $30k based on physical samples and my imagination alone. On May 1st, we reselected the materials (fortunately we opted to purchase hardware direct from Ferguson, after discovering 4Ever's significant markup) and our designer promised an updated design. By May 15th, my bathroom was fully demolished and unusable -- no design received, no design signed off, and no project schedule. I did not receive a final design until the following week, after email reminders, and it did not reflect what had been selected in the studio. I emailed our designer photos of the tile I had taken in the studio v. the tile in her design and asked her to change it. On May 20th, she said she'd look into it. I heard nothing back until I sent her an email reminder on May 27th. 4Ever had ordered a special-order, non-returnable tile without providing a final design and without my design approval -- disclosing this only on May 28th, after the bathroom had already been demolished. I was then told work could not continue until I approved the design. I left a voicemail with the manager, was promised a callback, and never received one. The tile issue was resolved and we signed off on the design, but problems persisted. A project schedule was never provided at any point, despite being promised in the contract's scope of work and requested multiple times. Our sales rep had quoted approximately 3 weeks total. Shower glass was not installed until July 3rd -- almost 2 months after demolition began. Once we were finally able to use the shower, we discovered a grout crack running from the ceiling down 2/3 of the shower wall. Upper management's response was that this was normal. It is not -- grout failure of this extent within days of installation is a workmanship defect. After I submitted 17 photos documenting cracks and bubbles, a contractor came to repair the work on July 21st. That same day, our PM tried to get us to sign the project closeout document, which triggers final payment. We declined to sign until we could verify the repair held. Our PM persisted, saying defects would be covered under warranty. Despite not signing the final document, 4Ever tried to send us an invoice for final payment. We gave it a week and scheduled our PM to collect final payment. On that day, we received a voicemail, email, and multiple app notifications stating we were overdue, would be charged late fees, and that 4Ever had already contacted their attorney and we would be liable for their legal fees. We later learned 4Ever placed a lien on our home over the disputed final payment. Post final payment and grout fix, we're finding more cracks in the grout. We did not receive $30k worth of a remodel. We received failure to follow contract process, defective workmanship, terrible communication, and legal threats. Do not recommend.

Unfortunately, that week that line's distributor let the company know they were discontinuing the white high gloss finish. Derek was very transparent about the situation and recommended against buying the cabinets in case anything went wrong, as they'd be hard to replace. He guided me in remaining available lines and what he would and wouldn't recommend.
