Please do not order custom curtains unless you plan to wait over 5 months for them to arrive. I ordered my curtains on 3/4/2025...still waiting. Customer service told me they cannot cancel my order as "the vendor can refuse to cancel the order as it is custom made.". Wait, I ordered from POTTERY BARN, but their overseas sub-contractor call all the shots. That is why Pottery barn lost me as a customer - they take zero responsibility for their business practices. Don't you LOVE Pottery Barn showrooms? I know we do, love sitting on all their furniture and touching the textiles. So in February we decided to buy two sectionals, one for San Diego house and one for Vegas house. We JUST received the SD house sectional and it is TRASH TRASH TRASH.. I can't believe they charge what they charge for this level of garbage. The Vegas one is MIA, they don't even know where it is. Now I am waiting to see if they are going to give us a complete REFUND for the trash they sent us. Here are the photos I took to send to them to prove how horrible this couch is. And it is uncomfortable as F. Ii have videos too, but Yelp isn't allowing me to attach. Not to mention the hell I have been through since February with their non existent customer "service". I had to escalate it to their corporate department with Williams Sonoma. Now I seem to have their attention, but why do I have to go through this. And we all know they do not have IKEA pricing, but I'm going to tell you, IKEA has better quality than what I have in my living room right now. The Sectional doesn't fit properly together. Each piece is a different size, the Chesterfield roll on the back is either really poofy or flat and all different sizes. One of the pieces they sent to us, is an absolutely DIFFERENT design. I can not believe this. They kept telling us that because their sofas are built overseas there are issues with shipping, this is why they are so delayed. LIARS, this sofa was made right here in Chula Vista. I waited 6 months for one a few miles away from us. Absolutely unacceptable. I decided to splurge and buy some high end dinner plates from Pottery Barn. I purchased 12 large Mason Stoneware plates in flat white. After 1 year of light use these plates look like a child has scribbled on them with black ink. I called Pottery Barn to see if they would replace them or give me a store credit and after an hour on the phone with a really sweet representative, he was not able to do anything. He said he was told by his supervisor that this is just normal expectations. It has two entrances that make it easy for you to zoom in faster on what type of home decorations you're looking for. If you enter the store on the upper level of the mall, you're going to find the larger furniture, such as sofas, easy chairs, coffee tables, beds, shelves/ledges, pillows, decorative curtain rods & so forth. There are cashiers on each floor to make your shopping experience more convenient. If you enter on the lower level of the mall, this part of the store is filled with accessories for your home, such as dinnerware, serving trays, lamps, candles, vases, mirrors & the like. An elevator located inside the store accesses both areas; or you can take the stairs, if you're so inclined to jog up & down them. If you are looking for something in particular, the sales associates will gladly help you find it with a smile. If they don't have the item you're looking for in that particular store, they'll happily look in their inventory to locate a store. I found them to be very accommodating. I've never left a review before, but after the last 4 months of dealing with their "Customer Service" I will never shop or recommend this store to anyone ever again. We ordered a custom reclining chair in December 2023, immediately noticed an issue with the delivery address. Called the customer service to correct it, they said they fixed it. Fast forward to March 2024, we get a call saying the chair is ready to be delivered so we set a date. The day before delivery, they call and say the chair has not arrived and is in a completely different state!!! After multiple calls with customer service, the very unprofessional warehouse staff, asking for a supervisor for weeks, we finally get told the address wasn't fixed and no one knows where the chair actually ended up. So sorry, but the chair is never going to show up! The customer service is just someone who picks up a phone and pretends to care. They don't actually do anything. Have an issue? Forget about it, they're going to act like they help, and then when they say they'll call you back they never will! I can't believe this company is still operating, or how they think they can charge these prices for such subpar service. We've always loved shopping here, but I refuse to support this kind of company. read more

I love Pottery Barn and have spent thousands of dollars decorating my homes over the years. We recently moved from Chicago to Carlsbad and I immediately went to Pottery Barn to decorate. One pillow I purchased did not live up to the Pottery Barn reputation, so I brought it back for an exchange. I spoke to the manager at the UTC store and she was adamant not to give me an exchange, store credit or refund. It had been 5 months and I did not have the receipt with me. I showed her all my charges on my credit cards from her store, but that did not matter. She even said this pillow must have been a return, because they do not carry this one in her store. Terrible experience throughout the process. Terrible product wrapped in a gold cloak. We ordered a custom sectional. Ya $6000 later. 2 days in and the material is coming apart. Haven't even sat on it without a blanket under me yet. Lol. Also the delivery was terrible. They took a chunk of wood out of my door frame. Scraped the wall. And to top it off the couch looks a shade of pink now that it's here. Funny how they say nothing they can do since it's a custom purchase. Well pretty much anything there is since they don't keep anything on hand. Also we still have yet to receive the credit card they talked us into getting. A sofa ordered 5 months ago was set for delivery in the morning and just hours before it was due it was apparently damaged and they had to re-order it with another 6 week delay. No solutions, no options just a call to inform us. Customer service promised to sort it out and we are still waiting for the call ti inform us of how they would do that. The company offers a wide inventory of sofas online. For me, searching the configurations there saved time. Once I entered the Pottery Barn store in Fashion Valley, I'd already narrowed my selection by size, fill and style. Seat comfort was next and this store had many to test. Then, fabric swatches. After waiting months for an order the company drastically changed the color of the product ordered, admitting that it was their computer system that made the error, but after waiting 2 hours with customer service they were unwilling to assist with updating the order while it was still in process. Thinking your set up for 12 months interest fee then you get slammed with interest charges and of course Pottery Barn and Capital One will not make it right after you see you have hundreds and dollars of interest in your bill. Instead of paying over 5k in furniture, now I have to pay 8k after said and done. They will apologize until your ear falls off,but they will not make it right. I am so disappointed in my visit to this store. I have purchased numerous pieces of furniture from them in the past and have never had an issue. Today was a different story. I went to purchase two of their Raylan chairs, which they happened to also have on display near the front door. I was the first and only customer in the store this morning and was completely ignored. Never once did any of the three employees great me, acknowledge me, ask if I needed assistance etc. I sat in the display chair for five minutes, with two employees near by reworking a window display. Ordered a bed for my 7 year old daughter on 8/12/2022. The order was cancelled twice and restarted, without any notification to me. Delivery was finally made on 2/5/2023 and it is missing hardware to assemble the bed. The delivery team left the bed in pieces in her room, and called the delivery hub to report the issue. No call back from the delivery hub after 24 hours. I called their number and was told they can only email the warehouse to investigate, but cannot call for a status and we have to keep waiting for an unknown amount of time. In the meantime, my daughter has to sleep on the floor, amongst the parts of the bed. Called PB Teens customer service, asked to be escalated to a supervisor. After 1 hour wait, they hung up on my call. This is the "white glove" service we were obligated to pay for. It is unacceptable and will never shop with them again. read more

I have been shopping at this particular store since 2001. This is, by far, my favorite store. No matter how busy they are, they are consistently helpful and cheery. My only issue is I believe that Pottery Barn is under- staffing their stores which is no fault of the employees. Two employees on a Friday night in a 2 story store is too much pressure on those that work at Potter Barn. Sara and Karen ( manager) should be commended on their professionalism. Karen ( manager) and Sara are both awesome. Despite being understaffed and trying to help multiple people at once, their graciousness never subsided. They were organized and got through each person's question/purchase/stock check with ease. They helped us buy Italian leather stools and even offered to do a price adjustment because they were on sale. These are some of the reasons why this is my most favorite location. The attitude of the staff from the stock person in the back to the person on the floor is consistent-the tone is always helpful. I suppose it must come from good management of this location. I always enjoy walking through this store. It is nicely laid out and kept extremely tidy and organized. read more

I had arranged everything around this appointment; donated all my living room furniture, new flooring, fresh painted wall. Changed all my family's schedule around this project. I had chosen a few pieces of (PB) furniture but I still needed further help. I called the store to ask them status around 2.15 pm. A lady told me the manager would call me back to let me know what had happened. Nobody called me back. I have guests coming and staying over in a few days. I am very disappointed with Pottery Barn. I am already changing my course of action in regards of my design and furniture/ furnishings store. Not an effective design request online system in place. Unreliable and unprofessional. read more

Love my sectional hate the customer service! My designer sent me here to look at few different sectionals. I had a sales associate help me figure out how many pieces I would need to order. I asked the sale rep if my designer needed to order the couch in order to apply her trade discount. I was told her discount would not apply on top of their promotional offer. So I ordered the couch. Wrong! My designer was irritated when I spoke with her. The sales associate didn't realize trade discounts are applied on top of promotions. I called the store manager who seemed to make it no big deal to refund me the difference to my pottery barn card. He asked me to bring it in once the couch arrived and they would refund me. I tried bringing in my card and visiting the store three more times!!!! Each time I was told something different. After belittling me and making me feel like it was my fault, I was told they had to email corporate and would be in touch the next day. Here we are almost a month into this issue with no resolution. "We'll look into this and call you back.." I'm not willing to let this go. This issue could've been diverted had their associates been trained correctly. Misinformation on their part should not constitute a crisis on my part! Get it together PB. Train your associates and when something goes wrong, own up to your mistakes and do right by your customers. At least my couch is comfy. read more

Just the worst customer service!!! Originally I went into PB to look into buying a sectional. I spoke with Michael (who was helpful!). I learned that different models of the sectionals had different options for leather which is what my husband and I decided upon. When I returned with my husband we approached 3 different sales people just to get anyone to assist us. They all just kept saying they could go check with someone else they would point to. ~This was a 10K purchase :( ~ Finally the one person who was going to assist us was not experienced. Literally the first person I approached I asked if they had a Townsend sofa we could look at to compare it to seeing it on line.. she said "I think there is one downstairs in the corner, you can go and see if you can find it" Anyways, Michael ended up arriving to work as we were meddling through with the inexperienced sales person and assisted us. We then placed an expensive order (for our pocket book). PB charges a delivery charge. There is NO CHOICE. They do not have anything shipped to their store, so we could not pick it up ourselves. One would think it is worth it to have them handle delivering it. But that is not the case. I received a call and an email that our order was ready on 1/30. We were very excited! I called the center that day and was told there were TWO dates that deliver to our area. (we do not live rural, we are 15 minutes from the store). Unfortunately we had commitments the two days, 2/8 and 2/22. I was available every other day that month! I called the store to ask about this. I was told some areas are only given ONE day month to have things delivered. They could not be of any assistance. As a matter of fact, without asking me the store cancelled my delivery date in February and put it on hold until March!!! I did clear my other obligations and luckily did at least get an appointment in February AGAIN. BOTTOM line PB was holding our furniture hostage and charging us for this poor delivery service! Years ago we ordered a leather sectional from a speciality store off Miramar Rd. I recommend that for the future. Amazing customer service. No trouble getting it delivered. We never expected to get such terrible service. It's just not worth it. From seeing so many reviews this seems to be their normal. :-( As of today, we will be getting the sectional this week... hopefully it won't be damaged or have any flaws! read more

I went in before Christmas and asked for someone to come to my home because I wanted to buy quite a few bookcases to turn a room into a library. I was prepared to spend quite a bit of money. Apparently no one in the store was able to come to my home for design services, so I left my phone number and was promised someone would contact me the next day. Never heard a word. Went in a few weeks later, and met with an associate who actually came to my home and measured the room. She promised to give me a design plan within a week. That was a month ago. Never heard from her. I called the store to find out what happened, and never heard back from her, or anyone from Pottery Barn. Will never attempt to shop here again. read more

The reward system is a joke. By the time they can process the rewards back to your card, most likely you've already made the payment to avoid interest charges. And calling to see why the rewards have not been applied to your credit, waste of time. Everyone I've talk to gives me the same excuse or answer. I've even received a promise that "I will take care of this personally, and you will see this in 3-5 days". Some 14 days later and numerous phone calls later, and still nothing has been resolved. And apparently, "Richard" is as high up as you can go to talk to someone, and had little to no answers, besides a sorry and 10% off your next purchase. How does such a big business offer poor costumer service with little to no knowledge of their own reward system. After dealing with how PB works, there will never be another purchase.
