Pottery Barn has been one of my wife's favorite stores for years. We have been coming to this location for the past 8 years. Our past experiences have been great and we have always left with a positive experience. Unfortunately today that came to a stop when my wife was belittled and scolded by a nasty poor soul named Jaye. My wife was being rung up and there was an issue that needed a supervisor approval and so here comes Jaye. Not only did she talk down to my wife but every member of the staff as well. I ordered a vintage mirror medicine cabinet. It arrived and is missing a part to secure the glass shelves. They can't "order" me that part. They currently still sell this item. So if you buy it, you actually can't USE it. I've emailed, I've called and nothing. I'm pretty sure they can open up a new box, and pull that missing piece out and send it to me. I expect better from such a huge company. I now have an installed medicine cabinet that can't hold anything. It was over $300. Shameful. read more

Their furniture in the show room and the staff in show room are the only good things about Pottery barn. If you go to San Diego store only ask for Thuy she is great. You have a problem don't call customer service call the person placing your order. Customer service is a bunch of computer literate kids that have the worst customer service skills. I am a CEO and I would have fired in my company any body so unprepared to handle customer complaints. We have purchased several items and every time there has been really bad problems. First time we ordered head board and frame for california king but 9 weeks later we got a eastern king. Needless to say our California king bed did not fit. So we waited another 6 weeks. Next time we ordered $30,000 of dining room bed room and living room furniture. They missed all delivery dates and shipped wrong couch. Oh and everything comes at different times.Still waiting for replacement couch. Our delivery of ottoman and chair is suppose to come today. Unfortunately we just got a call that they were not coming because they had wrong delivery address...but wait I just got new info... the delivery address they had was the damn warehouse they picked it up from.... what they just called back they will try to get out tonight.....well we waited this long what's another 4 hours. Pottery Barn is another great store. When we moved earlier this year we got a coupon for a percentage off the entire purchase. We got a new desk and curtains. The design consultant was very helpful in getting us exactly what we needed and what would look the best. Very helpful!! The store also looks great with all the seasonal decor. We stopped by to take a look over the weekend and found a few Halloween items for a good discount. read more

I ordered the Paris Apartment Stairs in Black and White Rebecca Plotnick 28X42 Ridged Distressed Black Mat picture online on January 25, 2020 with an estimated delivery date of Feb 13th. Each time I log in to verify the status of my order on the day it is scheduled to arrive it is pushed back another 2-4 weeks. It is now June 1st and my new delivery date is July 29th. When I log on to Pottery Barn to order the same print it still quotes me as 2 weeks. I am so disappointed in this company and their 3rd party vendor!! I do not recommend Pottery Barn. read more

Their style can at times be too fogey for me, but it's easy to browse for items that'll work for my more contemporary taste. Scored a cool vase last weekend. Husband wouldn't let me spend $50 on a candle to put in it. He drove me to Ikea to buy me one for 5 bucks. read more

I find it hard to understand how Pottery Barn in fashion valley gets through the day with Juanita as a manager. Rude beyond belief, shows no ownership, and could not care less about customers. Mixed review here which I normally don't have, either I like it or don't. The towels and lamp shades we've ordered were perfect. Sheets as well. Lovely. However we ordered a table through their store and over a month went by and no delivery. Upon finding out we would be receiving it the following week, come time for the actual delivery they called again and said "oops it's actually not even in the warehouse yet". Laughable. Quality of products:4/5 Customer service: 0/5 if possible Was in the store today and had a few questions concerning the bed and bath section and was unable to be helped by not one, not two, not three but FOUR employees. The store was not particularly busy even for a Saturday afternoon. They were well stocked with employees but scanty when it comes to manners. I've come to this store twice now in the last two months and have had the same experience by different employees regardless of the amount of customers. Even when speaking to an employee about bad service we were received with an apathetic "Oh I'm sorry". Not even an offer to remedy the problem, listen to us or ask to speak to the manager. When one of the managers was called down (as we needed to do an exchange as well) she seemed more peeved at that than listening to us. Even when we told which employee did not help us we were met with the excuse was "Oh it could've been another employee as we have several people working today with that description." lWhat a joke of an answer that was, I was appalled. Not only so we were not even greeted coming in. I'm not sure how this store stays in business and do not wish it would close but sincerely hope there is a reconstruction to management and policy when concerning customer service. It's a shame that customer service is not as important these days as sales, production and fast consumption of trash goods is. The only reason to ever come here IF EVER is for the products not the help offered by an apathetic staff. Would highly recommend you send your business elsewhere. NEVER PURCHASE from Pottery Barn or any of its affiliates!!!!!! This company is a nightmare!!!! We purchased several big items from PB and were told our shipping would be free once the items were delivered. It took us nearly 6months of calling customer service and going to the store to finally get a partial refund. Our purchase was so large that we received a few hundred dollars for their rewards program, that could only be used for Pottery Barn. My wife and I decided to use our rewards towards a new comforter and few other items. We were told that once our items were delivered we would see our rewards credit to our account. We waited patiently for our items to arrive 3mnths later, mind you. However, our credit card was charged 10days before our items arrived. Once it arrived I checked my statement and NO rewards credit. I called 2 weeks later thinking it would take time for the credit to post to our account and was told by a PB representative that they show it was already credited to our account. I then proceeded to call Comenity bank. Comenity's representative said that no credit was received. A Comenity bank representative then called Pottery Barn to inquire about the credit towards our purchase and informed the other representative that nothing had been received from pottery barn. We were then told that it would take 3-5 days but that it would get resolved. I checked my account 7 days later and nothing. It is now 2 weeks past the original 5 days and still nothing. I have spoken to 2 incompetent Pottery Barn service managers and was told I needed to wait. Mind you my bill was due. In order to avoid interest on a purchase that should have been paid almost entirely by my rewards, I now will receive a credit!!!!!! A credit that can only be used in a pottery barn store!!!!! This company will swindle you any way they can to get your money. This is probably one of the worst companies I've had the displeasure to deal with. Customers speak louder than words with our hard earned money, which pottery barn does not deserve!!!!!! read more

The salesmen were super helpful throughout the process. I went in and picked out the one I liked, agreed on price, and the sofa and chaise combo was just to adorable to resist. Pottery Barn is the worst company to order furniture through. I have had my custom couch delayed 4 times, given 5 different reasons for the delays; was told in the Fashion Valley Pottery Barn Store that payment is needed a week before shipment. I received an email Friday 12/24 requesting payment however later found out that the item will not be delivered until February 2022 - when this couch should have been delivered in November and was purchased in September!!! I spoke to a rep on Friday 12/24 who stated all items are in a warehouse pending delivery and could be delivered the last week of December, today I spoke to another rep that stated the items while available will not be delivered until late January - February 2022. The miscommunication, mixed messages, delays and backorders are beyond ridiculous. I could have purchased something similar from another vendor without these problems. I was greeted by a lovely associate Karina who helped me find a rug I had been looking for for months! I sure am glad that is over! What a pure waste of time and effort with the absolute worst customer service. Ordered items at a great sale price on Sep 3...here on Nov 3 they still don't know when the order will be filled. I tried to cancel and they fought me on it saying that the back order was filled yet 20 minutes before they said the set was not complete and they didn't know when the back order would be filled! I was given delivery dates that turned out to be incorrect (claimed I set up the date when I didn't) and the next person said there could not be a delivery date because they didn't know when the item was going to be delivered. Promises for call backs but unless I contacted them and waited on hold for more time than I care to wait on hold did I even talk to anyone. Even then they told me different stories. NEVER AGAIN! NEVER! From the issues with the in-store experience coupled with the phone support @cough/hack/cough@ this place has more issues than Time. read more

My husband and I went to this store about six months ago to buy a new entertainment center, and the staff was pretty rude. They talked down to us when we had questions about the sale merchandise and you got the sense that if they didn't see you as a high end customer you weren't going to get much help. I never before received such poor service before in my life! It has been a complete nightmare it's has taken 5 trips to the store in order to get my order right! And to find out it's still not correct! I received an end table which was wrong! After several days I picked up My merchandise from the store to find out some of my stuff is missing! I was so close to canceling my $7k order! And once I receive my sofa If it is not correct I will be canceling the remainder of my order and go somewhere who knows what they are doing! Well it is time to add notes to this fiasco. After 3 months of this continued nightmare i have finally decided to cancel the remainder of my order. Due to the fact they were suppose to delivery this a month ago to come to find out they can no longer deliver it since they are missing a piece of the sectional i ordered, I mean one can only take so many mistakes. I absolutely loved this store but please be aware they are not in the furniture business and they can only blame the computer system once not on every transaction they enter into their system.... If anything maybe you should only have a manager or someone who specializes in inputting an order online since the sale person i was working with was unable to do it right the first time... Or maybe write down step by step how to do it for those who are unable to operate their own system, so you customer doesn't have to pay for the continued errors made... I love the idea of furnishing a new apartment with decorations from the Pottery Barn, but the brand just screams yuppie to me. Yet, I do adore the selection of home furnishings at this store. And maybe someday I will actually be able to afford an apartment that looks like it was ripped from the pages of a Pottery Barn catalog, but for now I just like to browse the store because they do sell all the essentials, like dish ware, bedspreads and cocktail sets. My sister even found a gorgeous bird feeder at the Pottery Barn. But for now all I can do is shop and dream. read more

We called up to see if they had a piece on the floor and the gal said she would call us back, she never did. First, if you have the money to buy a piece of furniture from Pottery Barn, go somewhere else. My husband and I went to the Fashion Valley store, found a table we liked, ordered it and was promised we would have it by the 16th of November. I said "great, because we have family coming for Thanksgiving." "No problem", the gal said, "you'll have it way before then". Well I called on a Wednesday to check on the status and was told it was in their warehouse and someone would call by Friday to set up delivery. No one called Friday so I called Saturday and was told, by the manager, that she doesn't know who I spoke to but there are no tables and we probably wouldn't see it till December. I said, "don't you call people to let them know if it isn't going to be delivered?" She said "no, no we don't". Then she said "if you don't want it come back to the store and we'll refund your money." Unbelievable, I was so upset that my husband went down to the store to try and find out what was going on and he was told, by the manager, that the distribution of their furniture is awful. So the manager is aware (?) Anyway, my husband left being promised that we would have the first table that is available and she gave him a window of Nov. 23rd to Dec. 8th - I'm not holding my breath, I doubt we will have it for our dinner. This comes on the heels of my friend who had a sectional that she ordered get delivered but only half of it came off the truck. She heard many different stories which included that it was damaged, lost, and the wrong color. When she finally got the rest of it, it was damaged. What has happened to customer service?!? Customers are paying for the furniture, and the people at the store act like they are doing you a favor by delivering it. They even get mad that you're upset. First...I love the look of Pottery Barn. It has a great ambience and you get great decorating ideas. I would leave it at that. if you look closely at their merchandise, it is flawed in some way or another. it is not high quality furniture. But besides that, the employees are wonderful. This is why my review is 2 stars. I decided to finally buy some NICE cotton sheets. Not the usual ones from Target for $20.00. First, I went at 10 Am Monday morning, ready to buy. Guess what??? The store was closed! On A Monday morning. There was a sing posted they were having management Training and because of this they disrupted standard business hours. How unprofessional is that? as a customer, I am very unhappy and wondering who at PB thinks they are above standard business hours? Anyways, I go back another day and get the most beautiful white, cotton sheets. $100.00. Forget the name. I am in love with my cotton sheets. Until...a week later, it is time to wash the $100.00 cotton sheets. When I took them out of the dryer, there were more wrinkles than grandma Moses' sweet face! I looked at the care tags and it said 'may require ironing'. MAY REQUIRE IRONING????? That's an understatement. I cannot believe I bought these. If you are OK with ironing sheets every week, buy them. I'll be shopping elsewhere. read more

I wasn't expecting anyone that really cared about my business or offering good customer service. I ended up being pleasantly surprised! I talked to Denise and she was so nice and helpful. She sounded like she really cared about my issue, which had to do with their shipping policies, and could give me a solution. Her solution was better than what I was even asking for. When I couldn't find them on the floor, Karen and a stocking clerk searched and searched for them. When they couldn't find them, Karen kindly, and quite willingly, went out of her way to locate them in another store. She did this for me with a lovely smile! Product promised between Nov 21 and Dec 14th 2015 and still no delivery.... Try calling the warehouse and on hold a min of 30 mins at a time. Very rude and still can't confirm product will even be delivered. Filled a BBB complaint and a Consumers Affairs complaint. Emails provided on vacation for weeks at a time... Poor customer service. in store will tell you what you want to hear to sell products but no delivery....Do not order anything that needs delivery... read more

I LOVE the furniture and accessories that Pottery Barn carries but had never purchased furniture there until last year. We ordered 2 leather chairs, 1 swivel, 1 stationary and an ottoman.. They arrived, both damaged with scrapes on them. We requested replacements - and went through this process 4, yes FOUR times before we received chairs that were not damaged and matched color. Thinking this was a "fluke" with leather furniture, I purchased a fabric chair in January of this year. It arrived - with a big hole in the fabric. I didn't accept delivery and am again waiting for a replacement chair. Their furniture is EXPENSIVE. The staff in the store are apologetic and courteous. However their quality control is horrendous. The wait time for furniture delivery is excessive. This will be the last piece of furniture I purchase from Pottery Barn. read more

If I could give it a 0 I would. They have the worst customer service I have experienced. I ordered office furniture at the store in fashion valley from a sales rep. The order was suppose to be delivered in December but never came. After calling them several times they scheduled delivery with the worst delivery service. They had to try several times to finally deliver. When they finally came two months late there were parts missing and they could not assemble the hutch. We called pottery barn with the assembly people and they promised to rush the missing parts in 2 days. It's now been three weeks. I just called customer service just to be told that there is a manager hold on missing parts. Even though me the customer did not know there is a manger hold on $7000 of Defective furniture. Finally spoke to Wendy from furniture department and she promised that they are being rushed and that upon return delivery they will send someone back to assemble them. Let's see if their promise comes through. So disappointed and will never order from them again. Stick to restoration hardware. They have amazing customer service. read more
