We often wandered in the Thousand Oaks location at the mall and we recently ordered our couch, some coordinating pillows and chairs from this location. Our sales coordinator was Cameran who has excellent communication skills. He helped at every step of the way. We needed a lot of help as we rarely replace furniture and we also have three dogs- so it needed to be durable. He helped us coordinate our delivery, too. Our designer was Sarah - who is very talented. Cameran recommended her to help with materials and colors to go with our existing furniture and flooring. We ordered lamps for our daughter and son in law, too. Everything fits it like it was always there. We are very appreciative and highly recommend.

Why get our hopes up when the final answer was known from the outset and was even what I actually expected?! Both my husband and I fell in love with Japanese design and craftsmanship a few years ago on our first trip to Japan. Since then, we've been drawn to various Japanese shops and stores around LA. There are a couple great shops for housewares around southern California - but we never found a shop that carried Japanese made furniture. My husband happened upon Ookkuu's website while looking for lighting - and we were shocked to find that they carried a number of items by famous Japanese architects and industrial designers that we'd never imagined we'd find in the states. We're lucky to have this shop in South Pasadena - I don't think there's a shop like it elsewhere in the states. Their showroom is on the second floor of an office building, don't be fooled - they love walk-ins! The showroom is small - but they carry quite a few of the items from their website. It's amazing what they can fit in there. It's definitely worth a visit to see these pieces in person. They also have a few small items like glassware, incense, plates and paper lanterns. They get new pieces in pretty regularly - so it's nice to go back often. Can't say enough great things - we'll be back when we decide to make our next purchase!

It turned into an interesting way for them to know who I was before visiting, plus it let me preview all of the prices. It feels so wonderful to know that people who care so much about quality and functional design are actually within reach. ;)

We drove to the RH Thousand Oaks store hoping to see a couple of pieces that looked like they would be a good fit from the photos posted online. On walking in we were greeted by Anna, a design consultant. She was extremely helpful in showing us the pieces that we had identified online. However, after we showed her a photograph of the room we will put it in, she came up with a couple of suggestions that were even better than the pieces we had come in to see.
