The coffee was sublime. Think I also had an espresso-tini, which drive the entire cost up to $50. There was also delicious bread. The whole place had that communal type of vibe that I so enjoy about Danish cafés. I asked one of the staff super- models about the little Danish flags that some of the tables had and her explanation was kind of convoluted, but I believe I understood it. The first time you could choose a main dish and three salads if you were still hungry after eating you could go back for more, either the same choices or different ones. Lots of vegetarian options! We order three smorrebrod and we ate them in the Tivoli food hall. All were served on plates. The correct way to eat was with a fork and knife as we learned while watching an episode of Somebody Feed Phil. The chicken salad was undoubtedly our favorite. Lots of shredded chicken but overall smooth and tasty. We crumbled the bacon to add some texture and that was even better. The marinated salmon was ok but we liked the nice pop of flavor from the pomegranate seeds. I may try to add them at home to my smoked salmon. The egg and shrimp smorrebrod was tastier. We returned our empty plates back to the counter when we were finished. Not completely in love with open face sandwiches but may try again on a future return trip to Copenhagen.

All 4 of us heard the server say, It's on us! After another 30 minutes we asked if we could at least get our salads which came out shortly after. Our meals came out 15-20 minutes later. Ribeye was tasty and fries were good but not exceptional as we had anticipated. We had to ask server for our desserts which we had ordered initially with the meal. The table was cleared and then our desserts came out. By this point we had been there about 2.5 hours. We told the server we were ready to leave and the check came. We said we thought the meals ( each couple shared one meal) were on them. The server said that we had been told only our drinks would be on them! One couple only drank water and the only thing comped for a 2 hour wait for food was for a Diet Coke and a lemonade. Certainly not what we were told.
