Once there I was told I had a detached retina and I needed surgery done that day or the next morning. He accused me of ignoring my eye health and scared me into thinking it could get worse by the minute. I am a schoolteacher and had only taken the morning off for the appointment and had to go back to work. My husband was also out of town, and I had no one else to drive me to surgery or help with my kids. When I told him I needed to talk to my husband and call to schedule, he had me sign a refusal of treatment paper. Once I tried calling back to schedule, it was very hard to get a return call. I had a scheduling person call while I was teaching and tell me I had to be at the hospital for pre-surgery appointment that same afternoon. Teaching school does not work like that. She also was scheduling me for surgery at a hospital not on my insurance. When they did call back it was with misinformation and not helpful with securing a date. I finally scheduled one, but I was scared it was getting worse and went to the ER because my eyesight felt like it was lessening. When the ER doctor contacted Dr Membreno's office, he said I was not his patient- he had terminated my care. What??? So unprofessional. The ER Dr. referred me to another retina specialist and said though I need surgery, it wasn't an emergency situation where it had to be done that day or week. I did have successful surgery with a different practice.

Well, this is embarrassing…read more Should I tell? Of course. So, after the Color Run, I had trouble taking out my contact lens. I have worn contacts for at least 7 years with only one minor mishap. This is the second, more ridiculous and expensive mishap. I had a big glob in my eye, and I'm sure the color powder had something to do with it. I wanted someone good to look at it. I found this place on my insurance website. Having no clue as to whom to choose, I decided to pick a doctor that appeared to have an East Indian name. Dr. Saira Choudhri. Perfect. The office was kind of hard to find, but I did after some driving around. It's across from the Loop behind the Vitamin Shoppe in a professional office park. I just felt like everyone in the waiting room was old. I was the only young person. The feel was clinical, and rather impersonal. It needs warmth. Not a discount, just an observation. Dr. Saira Choudhri is more qualified than necessary. More beautiful than necessary. So, here I am, with blue still coming out of my nose from color run, and now yellow coming out of eyes, with a gorgeous, overqualified eye doctor taking out my daily contact lens with no effort at all that I had been trying to get out for the past 3 days. And she tells me I have allergies in that eye, gives me my drops, and I am on my way. And I am suppose to see her again in 6 months. I felt as if I was dealing with competent people here who really know their stuff. It's a professional and clean environment, and would definitely recommend. I just don't think you'll go there to make BFF. See, told you it was ridiculous.

I have lost all faith in this company and advise anyone to please go seek help to a quality institution that actually cares.
