She mentioned it was a follow-up appointment and that those issues were not part of the visit, and she would need to consult the doctor for further review. The point is that the issues were directly related to the follow-up need. Despite needing only 30 minutes, I received pushback, and the doctor seemed annoyed when I asked questions and expressed concerns. This made me feel as if I were being talked down to and treated like a child ultimately the visit was rushed when there was no reason to do so. I was on time and their was no fault on my part and when I scheduled I noted exactly what the need was. I understand that being a practitioner is challenging, especially in a teaching institution, but it is never acceptable for a provider to show the disdain that this provider showed. I will seek healthcare elsewhere and caution others that the care provided by UCF lacks quality, compassion, and care.

Over the past several months, I have had to return multiple times because the prescriptions provided were not correct. Each time I was asked to come back to try new lenses to see if they worked better. I trusted the process and continued returning as requested by the office. During one of my visits, I was informed that the fee I had already paid for both the glasses and contact lens prescriptions had an expiration date. This was surprising and disappointing, especially since the repeated visits were due to the office not being able to determine the correct prescription in the first place. At my most recent visit, I was told that the new lenses I needed to try would no longer be covered because too much time had passed since the initial appointment and payment. This does not seem fair, considering the delay was caused by the inability to get my prescription right, not by anything on my part. To make matters more confusing, I am now being referred to a specialist. After months of appointments and additional inconvenience, I feel that the situation has been poorly handled and that patients should not be penalized for extended timelines when the issue originates with the prescription process itself. I went there for my Yearly Physical, like I have been doing for the past 10 years, and they made me sign a paper stating that if I have concerns outside of the ones the physician was going to check for me, I was going to get charged. I wasn't able to discuss the back pain I've had or my sleeping problems because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to afford my yearly check up! Then when the check up was over (the physical didn't even ask if I had any questions, I'm guessing because if I did I would get charged) I was sent on my way and they still charged my insurance for things we didn't even talk about. This is very suspicious and in bad faith. I wish we talked about the things they said they did but she didn't even mention some of them, she just wanted me out of there asap. I told her a medicine I was taking and she charged me for ADHD???? We didn't even discuss anything related to that. I will be calling my insurance to see if they can fight some of the charges. Or I'll call their billing department to check as well. This is so sneaky of them. Please be ware, the care and service seems to be declining.
