Downloaded yelp just to leave this review. Prices were not bad at all. The appetizers truly slapped. The staff was amazing and fast as lighting. The portions were more then generous. The Swiss burger was leaking perfection and the mac and Cheese was both sloppier and creamer then any sex I've ever had. And I know I a thing or 2 I'm a total Chad. Over all one of the best experiences I've ever had. On top of all that they had some truly dope merch for sale. read more

Delicious food, great service, cute environment, kid friendly, lots of sports on TV. We ate in here and had great service on 8/5/2020. Lots of water refills. The outside looked super cute - with a beer tap fountain, but it was raining so we ate inside. The food came out quickly. We didn't try the beers but there were plenty on tap. read more

Such a good place to eat! Came here for lunch with a group from work and ate outside and we loved it. The bees and flies were bugging us a bit, but the food was amazing. I had the Mac and cheese sandwich and will definitely get the same thing next time. SO GOOD. Make sure to add some meat on it if you opt for that, since it's well worth it. read more

Let's be honest... I come here for the beer, the outdoor dining comes next as this is one of the few places in Aberdeen with outdoor dining. The food is ok, bar food selection that is standard with other establishments. Cheese curds were good, slightly overpriced for what you get, keep in mind we're from Wisconsin. Been here three times will be back now that my daughter goes to school at NSU. read more

I love the Cajun shrimp tacos here! Very good and the amount of shrimp on them is great! My husband had the Fat boy burger, and that was good as well! There is a lot of flavors going on in that burger! I also like to do the flights of craft beers when I go here. I did the more hops flight, and it was awesome! The waitress gave me beers from around South Dakota, so that was great to see he variety. Overall, good place and great atmosphere! read more

Oh my gosh!! I his place is so delicious! The food is excellent! I had the steak and cheese with grilled onions and peppers. It was perfect. The french fries were also very good. The only reason this place is getting a four star is because of the slowness of the waitress. I would return though. read more

To be honest, I walked through the door expecting to give this place a bad review. More often than not I am let down by Yelp reviews of the bar & grille variety. (You know, the younger bar crowd raves about the place they drink at or their friends work etc.) I expected to write a tactful review contradicting the hype and bringing balance back to the Yelpiverse (yes, that is a thing) so other people unfamiliar with the area could get a fair and balanced assessment of the options here in Aberdeen. But Pounders is actually pretty good. The food is standard... I got the popper burger (which is pretty common) and it wasn't the best jalapeño popper themed burger I've ever had but it wasn't bad. (Honestly, I like my burgers thicker ... With a little pink to them... If you like your burgers well done you'd be happy). The sweet potato fries were also ok (although the SPFs at Mavericks are a little better) But the beer selection is actually pretty great and worth stopping in for alone. (they had one of my favorite beers on tap... A Russian Imperial Ale that is sometimes hard to find... Which means they are at least as good at beer as I am). So I actually really enjoyed the experience... I stayed for a few rounds not only because of the beers but also because the service was good. The bar tender was pretty cool and not even a little bit douchey (even if I didn't order a cocktail to see how good he was). The wings were solid... The mango habanero sauce was as tasty as BW2 but not as hot. So in summation: yeah, I would go there again, good beer and good people... it is everything a beer place should be. read more

Where do I start on this place? I have tried most of their menu and there is nothing I would complain about and quite a few things to rave about. Anything with their brisket is amazing! The smokehouse mac & cheese is to die for! The brisket salad... OMG! The burgers, so good! That French dip burger, just thinking about it is making me slobber on my keyboard. And the beer! The service here was very friendly and the menu was typical bar food. I had the pounder burger. It was a bit dry and the bun looked like someone wadded it up, but it was passable. The pattiemelt was a better option. Some of the lettuce had some brown edges indicating that maybe not too many people order a salad. The place really scored a 2 from me but my sisters pattimelt was better than my burger. read more

My Dad grew up in Aberdeen and has a summer home at Mina Lake. We have visited annually, if not more, for the 35 years of my life. I LOVE the addition of Pounders to the city. It is local with diverse menu. As mentioned I am 35, so a bit loud... but GREAT service and diversity to this small town! read more

You cannot find a better beer selection anywhere in this neck of the world as good as here at Pounders!! 40 taps plus a plethora of bottled brews to choose from! If you like craft beer or are looking to expand your pallet, this is the place! The staff are well educated in the beers to help you decide which you'd like to try. Keep in mind that the taps rotate! They change beers out and bring in new ones. Don't be upset if the one you liked is gone, just means you get to try new ones!! Don't worry all you 'light beer domestic' drinkers, they have Bud and Bud Light on tap and a few other varieties in bottle for you. The menu is great! Simple and to the point, great burgers and ya gotta try the flat bread tortilla pizzas!! I had the BBQ chicken flat bread pizza. For an appetizer we had the cheese curds (way better than Culvers), and the deep fried breaded bacon! They have 18 flat screen TV's all around the bar and atrium. The decor is car themed like a auto repair place or junk yard. Lots of neon up in the rafters, an old bike, street light and car bumper as well. I was visiting SD from Los Angeles for work and stumbled upon this gem of a joint. I've seen my fair share of great little eateries and must say this place is pretty awesome.
