It seems depending on the wait staff, either you have a really good experience or a terrible one. So far, I've only had two bad experiences with wait staff not being attentive. The bar staff is always on point and know their product. I'm not a beer aficionado by any means, but they helped me and had me tasting and buying some tasty beverages. The food itself depends on what you get. Most items are tasty, the onion straws are pretty darn tasty, the beer cheese soup is my favorite, and the burgers are fantastic. I've ordered the french dip/philly a few times and never had a good one. Just a few scant slices of leathery beef and cheese on a bun. The one time I had a pile of meat on my sandwich, I had one full slice of fat with no beef to be seen. Poor quality product for a sandwich if you ask me. Pounders is a great local restaurant. The food is very good with a nice atmosphere. I have enjoyed the fried pickles multiple times and have never been let down with this great appetizer. The burgers are awesome, with the sandwiches being pretty good. Now choosing between the burgers and sandwiches, you should go burger. The sandwiches are good, but the burgers are better. Overall, one of the best places in Aberdeen for lunch or dinner. read more

We went to Pounders first night for late dinner and then back next day for lunch. Dinner was great with wings and burgers and had excellent service. The next day for lunch my only complaint was the Philly Cheesesteak. It could be a regional thing I guess but I couldn't eat it. I think it's a great place to watch SC or a game and the team trivia was great. Killer beer selection made it totally worth it. We will put this on the regular rotation while in town visiting our son at PC. read more

Service was good. Philly came out warm. Made with a cheese sauce, not real cheese. Wasn't impressed at all...

The wait staff was good and the beverages came quickly. We ordered 4 appetizers and only one ended up being good. Steak tips, deep fried bacon and the Nacho's were all cold, be the time we did get our food we ate and just left. Not sure I would go back again. read more

My wife had business in Aberdeen and our son and I tagged along. Our 1st night there, we chose Pounders, as it had a lot of choices for our son, who is special needs and has a fairly specific, fairly limited diet. Pounders was the perfect spot. First, we were able to get a booth, always our preference. Second, we got a table immediately, though admittedly we were there after the dinner rush, but still, very handy. We ordered their 12-piece wings, fries, a hamburger (my apologies, I don't remember which one we ordered for our son), all for my son, and they were all great, particularly the wings, which were so tasty and perfectly cooked. My wife and I split some traditional nachos with ground beef, she got a cup of chili and I ordered the cajun shrimp tacos. In order as they are listed here, the traditional nachos were very average... sadly; my wife's chili was amazing, very flavorful, with a nice amount of spices and my cajun shrimp tacos were incredible (as someone mentioned in another review, lots of shrimp and extremely tasty. SO all-in-all, the food was outstanding! The reason for the 4-star rating, was that the food took forever to get and considering the restaurant wasn't even full and that our food was in essence bar food, it seems they might have gotten our order out sooner. But, that being said, the food was awesome overall, our server was very good and very friendly - and very patient, as I spilled a glass of water on myself to start the evening :-( - and the atmosphere was very fun and yes a bit loud but to be expected, it's really a sports bar/taphouse, which reminds me, an incredible list of micro taps. I'd highly recommend Pounder's for anyone visiting Aberdeen. We'll go back next time we're in town! read more

Service is terrible, wait staff are extremely slow. If you go over your lunch hour, plan on being late back to work. Went there with 3 people, I ordered a hot dog, another ordered a loaded French fry dish, the other a buffalo pizza. 45 min later the food comes, pizza was bbq not buffalo, waitress took it back and took about 5 min the buffalo was ready. If it took about 5 min to cook a pizza what were they doing for the other 40 min the first time. Never going back to this place. Just a joke. Would give zero stars if possible. read more

It was wing night tonight and my son and I decided to try Pounders for some Wings. It was about 9:00pm and there wasn't many people inside. I thought since it was half price wing night it would be packed.....it wasn't. I was a little Leary thinking maybe the wings weren't as good as Daddy's or the Circus in town. (both are very good) anyway..we were seated right away and ordered and within 5 minutes received our order. We both had the bone in hot wings and this is my interpretation. Honestly they were the biggest wings I have ever eaten...anywhere! I am not putting down the other places in town but these were huge...nobody comes close..nobody! They were also the best wings I ever had. I like Buffalo Wild Wings but they don't compare in taste. I didn't want to mention we also ordered the boneless wings but they weren't nearly as good ( sorry just being honest) Bone in all the way. I have eaten at Pounders only twice before and had burgers and appetizers, but now it's my goto place for Wings. You won't be disappointed. read more
