I did make a complaint with the BBB on them as well. Below is the entirety of that transaction including my complaint their response and my rejection. My best recommendation is don't even give these people your name, but if you are reading this I just hope it is not to late. Power was very aggressive in their sales pitch to get me to replace the roof on my house. Making claims that I have in writing about poor conditions which included rotting wood, mold and lack of ventilation. Claiming that I needed to have my roof replaced in the next 4 weeks. I had another roofer come to look and specifically asked them to check the same items. That roofer said I had at least a year or two before needing replacement. He did not see any mold or rotting wood. and let me know that I had 9 vents in the roof which is more than should be required. Now I got a letter in the mail requiring me to opt-out of being pre-screened for credit from them. I have not signed anything, they should not be running any type of credit report. In fact I never even gave them my SSN so I am not sure how the obtained that information to begin with, unless it was obtained in some illicit manner. This type of aggressiveness is not needed, in fact I may have done some of what they were talking about, but after today I will not be seeking their company out any further and will warn anyone that I talk to about this company. This practice needs to stop entirely, they should only do a pre-screen after they have been contacted for acceptance of work and before work starts. Doing it after a single contact should be illegal, unfortunately it is not, this is a sleazy practice that no business should ever do. Their answer never spoke about the practice of their salesperson and how he showed pictures of mold and rotting wood that were not even of my house. This is something that their company must be teaching the sales person in an attempt to frighten the consumers into more work than was originally petitioned to do. I cannot call this deceptive, that is to nice a word, these are outright lies and the company should be punished in some way, but I do not have any means to bring them to justice for this. Maybe they don't quite understand that the people that understand and know what they are doing are the customers they are losing for life. Had they given me an honest quote of what I needed they may have not only earned my business, but they could have earned referrals as well as future business from me and others like me. Instead I will do everything in my power to make sure that everyone knows how poorly this company treats potential customers and how they bait consumers into more work than was needed all for the sake of money. Hello Everyone i just want to share my personal experience with this company. First of all this review is for a roof project, shutters and attic insulation. The salesman Joshua Atchu, was great he came to our house and explained the whole process for the project. The nightmare started later on when the actual project was actually executed. Previous the installation the project manager John Maile came to our house and talk to my wife to get all the dates and things ready for the installation day.That day the project manager wrote down on his on the checklist template that the shutter color we were picking was black. Immediately my wife told him that we wanted red but his answer was that the color wasnt going to be a problem because that was just a paper work and that they would actually call later on confirming the color for the shutters. (First mistake) at the end she forgot and signed the paperwork. They told us that in order to do the insulation, the roof had to be done first. The roof project date had to be changed 4 times because of bad weather. I soon realized that the company had a very bad internal communication because they never told the insulation department. So they ended coming trying to do the attic insulation even thought the roof wasnt done yet. I ended sending them back. We received a call from customer service to confirm the shutters color my wife told them red but they said they didnt have that color.. at the end my wife told them that we would like them to be white and they agreed. The day the roof was done (Saturday) the shutters didnt arrive i spoke to their supervisor and he told me to forgive them that they would install it next friday. The guys finished the roof and it was actually a very good job. At that point i wasnt complety happy because of the shutters but they promised they would install them next friday. On friday they never showed up. I called them and i was told that they had a problem with the shipping process and that the shutters never arrived to their facility. They also said that they would arrive tuesday and we rescheduled for the following friday. The following friday came and again they didnt show up... my wife called this time and they told them that they had another problem and that two of them arrived broken but that they would go and install the others, my wife told them not to go until they have all of them. So they rescheduled again for the thursday of the following week. The next day (saturday) we had the insulation project. They supposed to come to our house at 9am. The representative called me at saying that he was going to be 50 mins late, then he called again saying that it was going to take him an extra 15 min. When they finally arrived there were two guys one called Dennis and "z" (i dont remember his name) . They soon started working on the insulation but the job was to big for them. For some reason they sent Dennis with a totally new guy to do a 2 person job. They actually told us that it was "z" first day and that he was learning. Soon they started fighting between them and swearing totally unappropriate. One of them quit right there and slamed my stormdoor and broke one of the bump closer which i didnt noticed at the moment. The other "experienced" guy tried to tell me that the job was done and he was trying to get me to sign the paperwork. I soon told him to call his supervisor and told him to get out of my house i had enough with those two. The manager told me that we would send a supervisor the next day. The next day the supervisor checked and realized that they had made a terrible job. He finished the job in a couple of hours and they gave us 250 dolar gift card for all the inconvenience and to fix the storm door. At the end after all the nightmare the job in the attic was completed. Now going back to the shutters remember? The next thursday came and again they didnt show up. Again i called and they apologized and rescheduled for tuesday. Tuesday came and again they didnt show up, they ended comming today wednesday since we were at work they told us they could install the shutters without us being there. When we arrived home after work the first thing we noticed they changed the shutter but guess what, they installed black shutters instead of the white ones my wife requested and that they agreed. They also left a mess with trash in my yard. :/ I Just called the customer service and they are clueless.. and they said they wont change them. At the start I purchased 19 replacement windows from Power Home Remodeling, which is most of the windows in the house, rather than do a few at a time. A word of advice to anyone new to home improvements, should you place a large order, I would suggest you not sign the purchase agreement and insist you have time to go to your bank for financing. If they really want the sale they will come back in a few days to a couple of weeks it takes the bank to setup your line of credit. Even if they offer discounts to do the sale right then, for a large order if you don't want to make the full payment all at once and want a lower interest rate, plan to go to your own bank for a home equity line of credit if you plan on paying over time. This was nerve racking for me, but it was due to my inexperience and ignorance. With the sales, purchase and payment out of the way a couple of days later a tech came to take all measurements. The order came a couple of weeks later and the installation was completed in once day and on time. The installation team, Aric and Chris were absolutely wonderful! (I'm using their names because they deserve recognition for their fine work and so you can request them for your installation team. There was a third installer, but I didn't get his name so he deserves credit as well.) They were very polite, respectful and I felt completely comfortable with them and with them being in every room of my home. They were constantly working, no standing around, they did a great job installing windows. Everything was very clean throughout the process and when they were complete you could not tell they were there other than the beautiful new windows. These are not just installation people, but true craftsmen. I was so comfortable with them, I felt fine leaving them there to work in the house while I took the dog out for a half hour walk. I had mentioned I was interested in getting new entry doors at the time of my purchase of the windows, but was not ready to purchase them at that time. During the window installation I went ahead and purchased three entry doors and two more final windows. Then the arctic blast hit and let me tell you, I couldn't have been happier with my investment of the new windows. There were no cold breezes coming through the windows, it was GREAT! The windows are very good quality and installed to perfection and for the full week of the freezing cold I enjoyed walking from room to room checking that there were no drafts. My only regret is that I didn't purchase the entry doors with my original order of windows, because there were breezes coming through my old original wood doors. Three weeks later my new entry doors came and they were just lovely. I choose a variety of door types and window types for the various entry ways into the house. I had request the same installation team and Aric and Chris were there to install my new doors and windows. And once again, they did a fabulous job. Perfectly installed, fitted and insulated. Very nice wood work and trim work as well. I can't say enough about the level of care and professionalism that went into their entire work process. Excellent job! Did I mention that on my second order I did get a loan through a bank provided by Power Home Remodeling, but they gave me a promotional offer to pay off the order in 36 months interest free? So, I took this option and will pay them off well before the 36 months interest free (if not paid in this time then interest will be applied) And this promotional offer was presented to me at the time of placing this order. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase of 21 windows and three entry way doors from Power Home Remodeling. I recently had energy efficient windows installed by Power Home Remodeling Group and I am amazed by the quality and customer service. It's only been a year since I bought my house and I wasn't really planning to spend any more money into it. I bought my house during the early summer so my bills were not so bad when it comes to cooling the whole entire house. Once July and August hit my bills exploded due to cheaply installed windows that the previous owners rigged up with cheap standard hardware store brands. The winter was worse since the heat was escaping like crazy. Because of this I decided to go to the Philadelphia Home show to go window shopping ha ha.............eh. That's where I first met the Power Home Remodeling Group sales rep. I told them my situation and they said that they would hook me up with a free quote. First of all these guys don't play around when they tell you that they are going to call you they are on top of it. A representative came over my house to show me their company's products. Right off the bat I was amazed by the durability of their custom windows. The crazy thing about it is that it's made locally which was pretty cool. They will explain to you about Low e glass, their custom designed frames and the magic of argon gas. I was broke at the time when they come over my house so I didn't agree to have windows install plus I was afraid to commit. As the heating bills started acting up again I've considered that the investment would pay for itself and gave them a call (plus my girlfriend shot my window with a bow and arrow a day before I decided to call them). I only wanted four windows done but when a sales representative come over a second time I went all out and decided to have 12 windows and a sliding door installed. First a project manager comes over the house and does a walkthrough then instructs the home owner on what to do before the project is started. Two weeks later they gave me a call 3 days before the install. They said that the windows would be done in one day. I was like yea right ok dude! On the day of the install a team of 7 guys went to my house at 9am on the dot. They first laid out tarps to keep my furniture clean and then pulled out all my windows and removed my old sliding door. They made sure that all of the new windows fit properly and were well insulated. Their truck is like mobile window factory if adjustments are needed they would just knock it out on the spot. The team was bunch of cool guys and made sure not to wreak my house during the install. They were like a bunch of construction ninjas. Once the windows were installed their boss did spot checks, showed me how the windows worked and how to maintain them. They promised me that they would clean up after themselves after the install and they kept their promise. After everything was completed they left my house spotless with no signs of debris. It's crazy on how noticeable the room temperature have improved. Another plus was about 50% of the outdoor noise were reduced due to the new windows. Since they did a really good job I decided to have my gutters replaced as well, which will be done in about a month from now. Hey did I forget to mention that their products have a double lifetime warranty. Yo who does that?!? Their financing option is really good too for the quality of windows that they provide. Just think of it as an investment that will pay for itself. If you need things done to your house windows, roof, doors or gutters give them a call. Honestly, if I read all the reviews here first, I would have been very hesitant about hiring them. In my case, ignorance (of the Yelp reviews) was bliss, so we based our judgement on how each person at Power Home Remodeling conducted themselves. A door-knocker stopped by as the sun was setting on a very cold night. We invited him in and he arranged for the salesman to come for a visit on a different night. As the other reviews said, he wanted both the husband and wife home. With something as important as a roof, I could understand how that would avoid marital discord later on if one person made the decision and the other did not agree on something as important as the color of the shingles and such. So the door-knocker was very honest and easy to talk to. I did not sense any pressure from him, although he obviously would have liked us to sign up for an estimate. A day or two later, the salesman came and we liked him so much we didn't want to see him leave! He covered all his points, but again, I did not feel under any pressure to make a decision. I also learned a few things about the roof and shingles I did not know before. He had samples of some Power Home roofing products that I thought were clever and set them apart from other roofing companies: things like the bottom row of shingles having three layers of holes to increase the air flow near the soffitt, and the layer of a material they lay on top of the wood before anything else goes on. The guy came to take final measurements and told me when they were planning on delivering the materials and a dumpster. We agreed on the location for this stuff. We are in the middle of the snow season, so it was understood that their work crew would be at the mercy of the weather and so the schedule might change. I snow-blowed paths for the workmen to walk around the perimeter of the house, as well as places for the dumpster and materials. Like clockwork, the materials and dumpster arrived on the day they were supposed to. The next day was followed with two vans full of workmen. I do not think the temperature got into two digits that day, but they worked steady and hard. It took them two very full days to do our roof, including stripping off the two layers of old shingles and replacing any questionable wood. They hung two and three story drop cloths to deflect the old shingles and nails from hitting the house and foundation plants. The workers worked like bees, each knowing what they should be doing at any given time, and they were constantly busy. We thought the supervisor was going to come for a final inspection, but another fellow came. He was some kind of a supervisor, but I was not sure exactly whether he was an assistant or a full supervisor. That was the only surprise we had in the entire process. It was dark by the time the crew finished. When I went out in the morning I found some nails and a few shingles, but considering the mountains of material they hauled to the dumpster, and it was a very dark winter's night, I don't know too many humans who could have worked outside in single-digit temperatures like they did. I kept bringing them coffee and tea to warm their hands with the mugs. I sure hope that crew was paid well, because they deserve it. The roof is not quite a week old yet. Perhaps in time I might have other stuff to say, but for now this is the experience we had with Power Home. read more

I've read a lot of these Reviews and people are whining about the Sales Pitch, how they won't leave etc. etc. The Sales process is lengthy but very thorough. I did not feel any pressure to buy, I felt my salesman was more of a consultant on Door and Window replacement than a high pressure sales person. If you want someone to come and measure a bunch of Windows and Doors and give you a quote in less than an hour you're dreaming. I had two other quotes besides this and the process was lengthy. Put your dogs and kids away and expect to spend some time, it's in your best interest anyway. Like most have written and Power tells you, they are not the cheapest and that is difficult for me as a very Frugal person. After the Sales pitch and Demonstration and some negotiation I still didn't feel like I was getting a great deal so I did not purchase on the first attempt. If you are all about price then you hire a "Guy" and buy the Windows and Doors at Home Depot or (pick your favorite window and door place) and have him install them. Most contractors don't want to deal with Permits, inspections etc and be prepared for the installation process to take a couple or a few days depending on how many units you're installing. If something goes wrong try calling that guy back to fix it and God forbid if he falls off a ladder and sues you. I had Feldco come out and not only was the price higher but he told me that if he drove away I could no longer qualify for the discounts he gave me which was still higher than Power. I did a little more research and found a colleague that worked for Power and he gave me a stellar recommendation of the company and the name of a District Sales manager. I called and was able to scratch out a little better deal with a flexible install option so I went ahead and bought 2 sliding doors, one double pane and one Triple pane. Power called a few days in advance and the morning of the install. They showed up exactly when they said they would and the installation was amazing. I believe they put in the 2 doors with 2 guys in less than 5 hours from the time they arrived to the time they left. Not only did they take care of the permits but they had the Village Inspector here to review the installation was to code within a few minutes of when the inspection was required. My township is real anal about codes and it's in your best interest to follow them. They even registered my lifetime warranty, explained how to operate the doors, locks etc. and had the Project manager come by for a quality inspection when they were done. I'm very pleased with the quality of the doors as good as anything Andersen makes in my opinion. The financing was simple (assuming you have good credit), no money down, a reasonable interest rate for monthly payments which you can pay down at your convenience. After having a guy remodel a hall bath recently and taking way too long as I had to work around his schedule, the few extra bucks spent was well worth the turnkey no hassle installation experience I had with Power. Firstly, I've read the posted reviews and disqualify all reviews below a 5 star rating. As a salesperson in 2 "major" big-box home improvement stores, I have experience in product knowledge and sales of windows/doors. I must stress that today's customers demand quality products and "experts" in the salesperson and installers. Now for "MY" experience with Power Home Remodeling Group. I scheduled an appointment with a "door-to-door" lead generator. Within a short time I received a call from a Chicago-land representative to confirm my request. Two days previous to my requested date, I received a call to once again confirm my request. "My" salesperson was professional, knowledgeable and courteous. He called 1 hr before my scheduled time. He arrived within 15 minutes of our appointment. As a salesperson myself, I understand what a "presentation, confirmation of requested work, and quote" entails. Since my request was for product presentation, measurement and quote, one has to allow sufficient time - this took 4.5 hours. But the salesperson also had to put up with my drilling, questions, and comments. Let's say that I was confident in Power's window. I agree with the reviews that you will get multiple "prices" to get you to buy. And since I was getting a quote for a patio door and 7 windows, the customer has "wiggle-room". I didn't take the "last" offer either. The sales person left without being insulted or "injured". However, the price was within the Big-box stores price range; however, Power's windows are superior to Pella/Anderson/Jeldwin. I did get another call by Power to revisit my quote and schedule another visit. I took the "bait". This time the salesperson's District Manager (DM) came at the exact time/date scheduled, presented the product to my wife, and entertained my "badgering". Since I had more time between appointments, I really took the time/effort to study windows via the Internet, and the major Big-box store. I am convinced that Power's crafted windows are the best quality at a competitive price. I bought the project because of the original salesperson's product knowledge (PK), the District managers quote, and Power's crafted window. My pre-inspection appointment, visit, and experience was enjoyable. The installation went perfectly. Power called 2 days previous to confirm, I received a call early in the morning to inform me the windows/patio door was being loaded, and the installer arrived at the exact day/time as scheduled. The windows were in perfect condition (each wrapped and protected). The installers arrived appropriately dressed, protected my carpet, cleaned up, then reviewed proper use and care of the windows; VERY professional. The whole job took 6 hours. In conclusion (thank you for reading my 'diary') , I would highly recommend Power to all who want a Quality product at a VERY competitive price and installed by professionals!!!!! Believe me, I've witnessed disasters at the 2 major Big-box stores being a salesperson at each for 14 years. read more

Power replaced all the (original, AFAIK) siding and gutters on my 1974 house... As Patti's review said, the pitch took a while but that's because the guy (a veteran who knew his product very well and was also enthusiastic about his company) explained *everything* - showed me samples of all the materials (all better grade than the typical materials - thicker siding, insulation designed to fit better and last longer, better weatherproofing, soffit slats with built-in venting on both sides, grade 6 gutters when code only mandates grade 5, and so on), and then showed all the colors and helped me decide on a combination that fit with the house and surroundings. They had a cancellation which meant that the work could start a month earlier than originally planned. The day before work started a huge flatbed showed up with a forklift and delivered the materials; shortly after that a big dumpster was dropped at the end of the driveway ready for the waste. Starting the next day, the guys showed up on time (mostly - see later) and worked hard and diligently on the siding. A second team came along on the fourth day to get the new gutters up. Work was finished in five days, and the dumpster was taken away, all done. Shortly after that the foreman came along and we walked around the entire house looking for any defects (there was one spot where the sealant on one window had a tiny gap; the foreman fixed that before he left). So here's the good and the bad: The good: the work was first-rate and the house looks excellent. According to a valuation I got shortly afterward, my $18K cost resulted in a $70K increase in the value of the house. Woot! Chris, the foreman, was always just a phone call away if I had questions or concerns. They were all professional and courteous. The bad: I had a few language-barrier difficulties with the two guys working on the siding, when I had a question about the gable. Not a big problem because Chris spoke the language so all I had to do was call and we got that figured out. On the fourth day the guys didn't show up until around lunchtime and when I called Chris he was under the impression they'd already finished the work (they hadn't; the gable wasn't 100% done and there was some of the soffit yet to go up). They got to work later but I never got an explanation of what was going on. Lastly: they were supposed to clean up properly around the house at the end of the work to make sure there weren't nails and things left on the driveway; that didn't happen and I ended up having to do it myself. Also, despite two phone calls the leftover materials are still on my driveway waiting to be collected. No biggie because it's not in the way, but it's a little annoying. Overall: I think they did a great job for a fair price and I'd definitely recommend Power to anyone needing renovation work. read more

A Power person had stopped in our neighborhood about 2 years ago, a neighbor up the block had windows repaired and I was impressed with their work and she was very happy with them. In October Power was doing door to door sales, he rang our door and asked if we needed any home repairs done. He actually hit us at the right time, our kitchen window crank failed and our front window was in need of repair when the winter wind blew, you felt it come through. In the summer, the heat just came through. The door to door person arranged for a convenient time for the sales person to visit us. The sales person met my wife and me on a Saturday morning. Based on what I read, I knew they would spend 2 to 3 hours explaining everything. No pressure in buying either. The sales person was on time and did a very detailed explanation of their products. We were very satisfied with the product and ordered a replacement for our kitchen and living room windows. The Sales also showed me their new Solar Eclipse product for attic insulation, we have a split level and the central air conditioning struggles in the summer months and is a little drafty in the winter. He took the measurements and gave me a quote which included a NEST thermostat and I told him I wanted to do a little research prior to committing to do the work. We setup a date to have the Project Manager to stop over and he said if I wanted to have it done, let him know. No pressure to purchase. After doing the research on the Solar Eclipse product, we decided to go forward with this project as well. When the project manager stopped by, we added it to the work. He informed me that the attic work and windows would be done on separate days. The Solar Eclipse product and thermostat were installed, the person installing was very professional and explained and help set the NEST thermostat. I have already seen a benefit, we used to keep the thermostat during the day at 72 degrees and 64 at night, we now have it set for 70 degrees and 64 at night. The house heats up quicker and the heat does not kick on a much. I am going to watch our gas bill over the next several months to see how long the return on investment will be. This work was followed up by a call from the Power Team to make sure I was satisfied Today, the Project Manager called me to advise what time the team was going to be at the house, The Power Team arrived on time and began to work. Power's team removed the old windows and installed the new windows. My neighbor stopped over and said it was the same crew. The work was done professionally and quickly. The Quality Team contacted me during the job to make sure I was happy and scheduled a follow up for tonight. Job well done and we are happy. read more

We knew it was getting near time to replace our roof so when my husband saw the man who was canvassing the neighborhood he went over to him and asked him to set an appointment up for us. A few of our neighbors over the last three years have had Power do their roof and siding and were very pleased with them. I have seen the quality work up close and over a few years of weather and was impressed. We were already aware they were more expensive than other roofer so we were not shocked. The reason we were willing to pay the price was because of the quality of their work as well as their product. Their singles are much thicker that others due to the insulation included . We had the roof replaced about 20 years ago and were not happy with the quality of that product. There were no pressure tactics as stated in other reviews ( maybe the part of the country had to do with that or maybe the local manager?) from the first we were very p,eased with Power yes they did call us about 8 am to reconfirmed the appointment later that day. This I attribute to the fact that there are people who set up appointments then are not home when the rep shows up wasting their time and gas. The workers showed up on one of the hottest days of the summer and were professional and polite. They stayed up and on the roof pretty much all day taking breaks every 20 min to cool off. Being in direct sunlight on a roof in101 degree weather is not the best situation. To help Them cool off I put out bowls of ice water with wash clothes for them so they could wipe down durning their breaks. Also provided them lunch. Remember they are the workers and are performing a task for you. They were so appreciative. Apparently very few people even let them use the Toliet. Really??? The Inspector from Power came out a few times over the 2 days it took and then after the roofers left. The inspector came back on the 3rd day to make sure all went right. The clean up was teriffic. Because of that great experience we signed a free bract with them to cap all exposed wood trim and replace gutters and down spouts. Again not a problem was encountered. Well maybe one. One of the workers did break one of our electric path lights and did not tell us. When I discovered it two days later all I did was call the warranty department and they apologized and offered to send us reimbursement for the light No hassles just wish It was brought to my attention at the time. Not the companies fault but the workers fault Yes Power is more expensive than other companies but so far here in Northern Virginia where I live the company has done right by me so much so we are goi g to have them do our siding next. read more
