In town for a week - it's so hard to find a gym that lets you join for just a week, but they do! Good price too! Great music, great equipment, friendly staff. There are lockers, showers, bathrooms...but you cannot padlock the lockers. If you're worried about your stuff, you can move your bag around the gym with you (I saw a couple people use the lockers and a couple drag bags around - seemed like mostly nice people there.) Everything was clean...variety of equipment...I recommend it! read more

The staff is unfriendly and despite there being no contract when you start the membership when you cancel they REFUSE to stop stealing money from your bank account. Used this gym for 2 years. I wanted to support small businesses and didn't want to go to a chain gym. The location isn't the best. If you have concerns about your safety, then you might be uncomfortable walking into the gym or back out to your car late at night. The homeless population around the location is growing. Which isn't anything that management can control, but it is something to factor in when deciding where to workout. The gym has everything you need. Squat racks, a monolift, and a single deadlift platform, plenty of free weights, some cardio equipment, and a selection of machines. If a piece of equipment breaks, it is typically out of service for 2-3 weeks. Sometimes it is quicker. There is plenty of equipment, so I could always work around it. I did not like that they had a bent bar that they knew about but would not remove it or replace it. Was there before I joined the gym and I'm sure it's still there. I mentioned it a couple of times at the front desk, but the bar remained. It was significant enough that once you had weight on the bar it rolled in your hands and you could tell by looking at it, so I always checked the bar I was using beforehand to avoid injury. If you go there, look before you lift. I know the gym is a business, but management seems focused more on collecting money than customer service. They must not have financial worries because they definitely don't care if you stay or go. When I cancelled my membership no one asked or cared why I was leaving. It was pay the cancellation fee, here's your receipt, and this is the last day you can use the gym. Goodbye. I thought maybe I'd get an email survey or something after the fact, but all I got was a couple of emails about how they haven't seen me for awhile. It reinforced my impression that customer service was not important. If you're a competitive lifter or bodybuilder and need the heaviest dumbbells you can find then your options may be limited. For the average person, I suggest looking around at some of the other gyms. Update: I cancelled my membership less than six months ago and my comments are based on my first-hand experience at the time and not over a year ago. I'll let the reader draw their own conclusions about your response based on the clarification, but I believe it confirms my rating. I do appreciate not spamming me with a bunch of email. read more

Wow I'm impressed with this hidden gem of a gym. In Orlando Florida for 4 days. Best price for a drop in rate compared to 24 hour fitness ($20/day), planet fitness ($10/day), and other smaller gyms ($50+ per day). For $25 I got the week pass and that's perfect for me. This gym has EVERYTHING I have ever wanted to workout with in regards to power lifting, Olympic lifts and muscle building. I LOVE this gym! My competition bodybuilding team recently started training here, and it offers everything we need... and then some. It's a serious lifting gym, but it still feels approachable to a variety of fitness levels and interests. After making the most of a one-week guest pass, I went ahead and joined the gym ($30/month corporate rate or $35/month regular rate). Here's what sold me on this place: 1) Tons of great equipment that's CLEAN and in great shape 2) Friendly staff 3) Ample equipment even during peak periods (like 6 PM on a weekday) 4) IMPECCABLY clean locker room... this is seriously the cleanest non-corporate gym I've ever been to I'm by no means a germ-phobe, but it's refreshing to see a small gym that's so committed to cleaning and equipment maintenance. I've heard way too many MRSA horror stories to take chances. EXTRA BONUS POINTS: This gym is located dangerously close to a really good Marshalls, as well as The Florida Mall. read more

I visited a few gyms in Orlando, and power strength was definitely the one I enjoyed the most. The machines were high quality, it wasn't super crowded, and the vibe was excellent for training. I did a drop in visit and was really happy only paying $25 for a week's training and all the great equipment. The place is really clean and has a ton of bars and plates, which was really nice. Only negative about the training area was no chalk for general use. This is a serious gym for serious lifting, which is nice to see from time to time. Came in as a tourist on a day pass - definitely well worth it. They have a ton of weight equipment varying from chains to bumpers to logs, along with rows on rows of treadmills. Underrated note: It's also spaced out pretty efficiently, at no one point at the gym do you ever feel you're right on top of someone else's workout. There are men's and women's lockers/showers in the back and everything is insanely clean. If I lived in the Orlando area, this would definitely be my go-to gym. read more

Well, this is the third non-mainstream gym I've tried, and I gotta say, it exceeded all my expectations. First, how the hell did they get so much equipment in this space? Whoever their floor planner was is a freaking beast. They have so many plates you don't have to bother anybody asking for them. Also, they are so many hammer strength style machines, like 6 bench presses... it's Meathead Heaven! One of the lost important things for me is cleanness, and they definitely got that right. The people up front will stand up every now and then to keep their place of work looking fresh. My fiance who's super germ freak says she don't even mind laying on the floor when there's no mats. That says a lot. Finally, most people who come are super serious about their training, but they ain't assh...! So, yah come here if you want a comfortable, complete gym to train at. read more

I pay $35 a month, and never even cancelled it when I moved. All equipment is fairly new and they have everything you need. I had 4 requirements to meet, as I was traveling for a family event. 1. Bumper plates and space available for Olympic Weightlifting 2. Guest pass available 3. Open early on Saturday morning 4. Within 25 miles of where I was staying Not having much success, as most Crossfits weren't having open gyms on Saturday, commercial gyms not having bumpers, and other gyms just too far away, I finally stumbled across Power Strength Gym. Their website gives an appearance of a specialized gym catering towards body builders and strength sport athletes. Guest pass was $15, open 5AM-Midnight. When I got there at 5:30AM, there was a real human working at the desk. He signed me in and I got to work. There was a wide array of wide energy music playing the whole time. There were never more than 5 people in there while I was there. As for equipment, there was a mono-lift, 3-4 power racks, 1 platforms, maybe 1,000- 1,500 lbs of bumper plates, dozens of benches, all the machines and dumbells you could ask for and about 20 cardio machines. The equipment seemed to be all brand new and gorgeous. Efficient locker room with showers. The entire gym was extremely clean. Overall an excellent experience and an excellent gym. If I felt like giving slightly less than 5 stars it would've been that I would've liked to see (from a Weightlifting poit of view), some pull and/or jerk blocks and maybe one more platform. But this is a small complaint for a small segment of strength athlete. But since my point of view is narrow due to my sport, the 5 stars stays! read more

This gym is great in much aspects such as the wights and machines but, this is what happened to me. I moved out of the area of this gym then i wanted to cancel online. but i had to find out that you basically cant without calling them so no biggie i called them about 15 times back to back and no one would answer so i had to drive all the way there to cancel this because i later found out that there phone is on silent and the person was staring at it when i mentioned it and i was frustrated that they advertise that phone number and dont even pay any attention to see if someone is calling them!! read more
