*Update They ripped me off... I bought 2 used tires from these guys a little over a month back and was overall satisfied. However recently my steering wheel started shaking and veering to the right, wich could be from a number of reasons. I took my car to another tire place and asked what could be the issue and right away they pointed out that they were bad tires. One had a major lump in it and basically I was driving on egg-shaped tires. Upon removing the tires they noticed that they also were both patched, so basically they boned me. I needed just two tires, so I shopped around town and they quoted me from $155 installed (Pep Boys), all the way to $220 (Tire Express) Walmart, Firestone & Discount Tires were in the middle. These folks sold me Two (like new) Michelin Primacy tires (these go for like $525.00 w/tax & install) for just $90 bucks out the door. Thank you to Moreno and his staff at Power Tires! Now the funny, while I was in the back looking for the Michelins, I come out and these dudes ALREADY have all four of my tires off the car, this before I even decided if I even want to do business with them, or if they even have the tires I want. Power Tires, thank you for saving my tire right when I got there. I noticed my valve stem was tearing back at Rancho Del Rey and I tried to go to the nearest auto shop around, which was Pep Boys. Why in the heck did they want me to wait two hours to change a freakin' valve stem? Ugh. Luckily, I made it to National City in time to get it fixed. It's right next to the shopping plaza that has Valerio's and it's right before a Shell, so you have to know when to turn to get in. The service was really fast; took less than 5 minutes to get everything done, although it took them forever to realize that I didn't have a full-on flat tire and that I just needed to get the valve stem fixed, even though I told them that the first time :| At least my car is a happy car :) read more

i had a flat tire the other day, and was looking to replace it with a used one. this was for my beater/hoopty so i didn't care too much about any brand or specifications (e.g., all weather, z-rated, r-compound). this place carries an assortment of new and used tires, but is very limited in their selection. they've got 2 rim clamps and 1 machine for balancing tires. the bay which has the only car lift can hold 1 car, while the rest of the work is done outside in a lot which is smaller than a tennis court. their lot can hold up to 4 cars, and they use hydraulic jacks when working on those cars. so yes, they are some what limited. it's small, dirty, and ghetto, but the cheap prices make up for everything they lack. they carry a lot of generic brands, and the name brands carried are normally used . tires can cost anywhere between $35-$100 with mounting and balancing included. the service is what you'd expect from a place like this. nothing stellar, but still nothing to complain about. as for the bad, the place is small and located on a busy street. it's difficult to get your car into their lot because space is so limited. also, they won't always have the tire size you're looking for. sometimes if they do, they won't have the matching brands to go along with the size. i'd recommend this place for those looking for cheap tires to get by on. this wouldn't be a place i'd go to if i had a newer car, or if i were looking for a performance tire. regardless, i'd go there again...for my beater at least. * what i like - cheap tires * what i don't like - not having the tire size i'm looking for read more

I had to turn in a 2006 Altima. The lease stated I needed to have a set of tires on the car that all matched and had at least 1/8 inch of tread left on them. I searched all over the county and Power Tires had four Michelins that were almost new. I got them all installed for $150. These guys are awesome! I got there early in the morning and they had my tires saved for me and put aside. The install took less than 30 minutes. I'll be back for sure. Thank you Power Tires. Power Tires will sell you a 'crap product', at very reasonable prices. Case in point: I took my car to Power Tires to get a simple tire rotation because my two front tires were a little worn. A Power Tires representative recommended that those two tires may only last me about 4-6 more months. He then brought me 4 of their finest and supposedly newest Pirelli tires. Everything seemed fine, but 4 months later, I took my car for some routine service at the Nissan dealership, and they recommended that I get a new set of tires. Of course I laughed it off because I knew that I just got these 'new Pirelli tires' about a few months ago. Homer: 'D'oh!?' + Smack in the head. I should have listened because 2 months later, I had a tire blow out on the 15. And when I got another new set of tires from Evans Tires they told me the set of tires I was sold at Power Tires were basically 'polished turds'. They also let me know that from now on I should always check the 'DOT code' before purchasing any new set of tires. Lesson learned, because the recommendation the Power Tires representative made about my original two front tires did come true. But, they were supposedly new tires he recommended, and not from my original tires. read more

Be careful coming here. This tire shop is a rip off. One of the worker broke one tpms sensor in my suburban and would not replace or pay for replacement. Owner who spoke very little English said and insisted it was broken already which he was totally lying because my dashboard light wasn't on before I took my car. And I explained that to him, and he's telling me some lame excuses that didn't make sense. And the owner disappeared in the back and I guess hide. So I took it to Discount Tires in NC and they agreed that it was recently cut and they showed me the tpms sensor was still clean and no dust in the two broken ends. After my experience with another tire shop near by I was compelled to write this . . . I had 5 new tires put on my vehicle at Power Tires a month ago. I arrived shortly before their closing time and was not turned away. I placed my order and in banter the employees were challenged to finish the job to close up and go home on time. . . needless to say the expedience and efficiency of their team work was amazing. Not only did they remove mount and balance five tires once but when I asked if they replaced the valve stems they did all 5 again and still went home on time. The only reason I didn't give them the fifth star is in their hurry my lug nuts were over torqued with the impact gun which made it very difficult to remove the tires when I did brake job on my vehicle. In comparison just yesterday I went to another shop because they undercut tire price but they required me to get there no less than 1 hour before closing or else they wouldn't take me in. When I got there I sat and waited until one and a half hours after they closed before the job was done. In retrospect the better value would've been to pay the minute difference in price for the outstanding customer service Power Tires employees provides. read more
