My experience with Ann and Lisa at Power Travel has been fantastic! We booked a trip with the kids to Costa Rica and they made is so wonderful. Ann pulled some strings and we were greeted upon arrival with a special welcome from a manager and then in our room there was a delightful plate of cookies. I didn't hire this company but attended a wedding that enlisted Christina at their travel agent. She was not very helpful or knowledgeable. Christina sent me the hotel pricing info upon request. I reviewed each option and then checked online. If I booked through Orbitz, I saved $516 on the base price (not including taxes and fees) vs what Power Travel was offering. I called Christina to tell her the rate I was getting in case there was some sort of mistake. Did I have the wrong hotel, dates, etc? We confirmed everything and when I told her my final booking amount she said to me "that is impossible". I booked it through Orbitz and then forwarded her my itinerary so that she could see the price breakdown. She did not respond. I was staying at one of the sister properties that was different from the bride and groom. An email I have from Christine states "Just fyi, the bride & groom are staying at 'Site A' and there is a strict policy in place that people can't share facilities if staying at the sister properties such as 'Site B'. I called again to ask what this means and she said that I could not hang out at the pool or the property of 'Site A'. I asked if I could attend all the wedding events and she said "yes". Then what did it matter where I stayed?? It turns out that the information she provided me was absolutely false. There was a free trolley that took people from Sites A and B. Not only could I hang at the pool at site A, that is exactly what I did. Oh, and my friend who was staying at Site A, even hung out at my Site B property by the pool and ate at the restaurants. Imagine that! Not once was I asked what property was I saying on. There were zero restrictions or "strict policies" as she would have led me to believe. I now think that was a sales tactic on her end because there was a price difference between the different properties. I told other wedding guests on Site A what I had paid and they were shocked and angry. Some of them had paid twice what I had for the same amount of vacation time. Oh, and I was left off the email list pertaining to airport transportation and had to get the information from the father of the groom. He said a lot of people were left off of the list so he was forwarding it on. I don't know how or why the Bride and Groom chose her. Maybe she is a friend of theirs but I can say that I would absolutely never use this company for travel. read more

I am so disappointed with Power Travel. I am going to a wedding in April 2018 in Jamaica and Christina was working with the group. I paid my trip in full in November when the final payment was due in January. Christina decided to email me back in March that it was her mistake that I did not pay $300 and that I owed the money ASAP before she 'books the rooms' when I should have been notified days or a week after that it was a mistake. Now that it is several months later, it looks sketchy that she was asking for more money due to her error. I didn't even go on my vacation yet and Christina has added extra unnecessary drama to it. Stay far away from Power Travel! Not worth losing your money over someone not paying attention to details and getting things right the first time. read more

Power Travel booked our trip to Italy - Venice, Florence and Rome. Without a doubt, I would give them 5 stars! Actually - 6 if I could! Matilde was organized, thorough, booked amazing tours, lovely central hotels, secured excellent guides in each city. If I could give them negative stars I would. My 78 year old father & his girlfriend were interested in a cruise. I send them to Power Travel because even though it's easy to book your own cruise online, we thought a professional travel agent would guide them too a cruise that would be suited for two senior citizens with limited mobilities needs. The newly employed male agent informs my father that he's new to this business. BUT it was a more seasoned agent with whom actually helped my father in the past that told the new agent "make sure your booking them on the Norwegian Breakaway". Since My cruising preferences and needs are completely different I honestly never thought to research the cruise they booked for him. After all isn't that the purpose of a travel agency? It's their profession, they're getting paid to recommend & book travel trips for their customers. They're job is something that with today's technology we can pretty much do ourselves, but we choose to use an agency and pay a little more in return for their expertise & convenience of not having to do all the legwork yourself. Otherwise their really is no use for this profession and industry. My father came home extremely frustrated & exhausted. The ship is humongous. The water slide & rock wall is a clear indication that this ship is really better suited for a family or younger, more active traveler. I would give this company... SPECIFICALLY ANN M.....a ZERO stars rating if I could. Ann was tasked with organizing a two week trip to Italy for my mother and I for my 30th birthday. Ann assured us we were staying in the TOP hotels available and spared no pennies for this trip. Upon leaving Florence and arriving in Sorrento, we were excited to stay in what Ann had claimed was the 'nicest hotel of our Italy trip, a 5 star hotel'. Well, the hotel may have gotten 5 stars, from a blind person 15 years ago. The hotel was old, dilapidated, and dirty. My mother cried for hours upon arriving, devastated that for the over $700/night we were paying to stay there, this is what we got? I did my best to speak with the hotel managers to correct the issues we were having, which were many, but the hotel staff was quite unaccommodating to the point where we had to find a new hotel. I told my mom to contact Ann who had set everything up, and Ann was even less helpful. Ann told us to wait it out and see what they could do, but we couldn't even get the hotel staff to talk to us, let alone rectify the problems we had. Ann was too busy with her own vacation to help us. Instead of helping us find a new hotel, she continued to tell us to 'wait' until they could figure something out. As more and more problems arose, my mother and I decided to find a new hotel. Upon arriving to the new hotel, the manager asked me "Why did you choose that hotel instead of the #13 hotel in the area?" That was a great question! The hotel had availability and was SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper and SIGNIFICANTLY nicer! We were not offered that hotel because Ann and Power Travel did not have an affiliation with them. After returning from the trip and asking Ann to get our money back from the hotel we didn't stay at, she told us to 'let her take care of it' and request that we 'don't do anything' and insisted we did NOT contact the credit card company to dispute the charge. God forbid we got our money back from the hotel, Ann would not have gotten paid!!! Ultimately, Ann came back and informed us, after weeks of dealing with this nonsense, that the hotel would not refund our money and we were out of luck - sorry. IF YOU BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THE HOTELS THEY RECOMMEND. These people get kickbacks for referring their clients to their hotels. Ann gets paid from this hotel which is why she had no interest in getting our money back so that she could get paid. THEY ARE A TOURIST TRAP. Although other parts of our trip were great, we lost a large amount of money and dealt with more stress than I should have when spending a very special birthday with my mom. It nearly ruined our trip and I blame Ann and PowerTravel 100%. I recommend you look for another travel agency to work with and if you choose to give PowerTravel your business, make sure you do your research before you go, or else you will get stuck!
