Let me first begin with the owner - who knows absolutely nothing about running a business. As a business professional, the owner lacks proper judgement/professionalism when it comes to knowing the rules and regulations of owning a gymnasium. The owner has had sexual relationships with female members of the gym in exchange for giving them a free membership. He has also been known to contact female members on Facebook and ask them out on dates. The owner is well into his age and the following messages were sent to a member of the gym that is more than 20 years younger than him.
Here's an example of a message he had sent to a female member of them on April 3rd, 2017:
"In case you didn't see my Facebook message....you are n will always be the most beautiful woman ever....your smile gets me every time....hope you have a good day...."
Here's another message that he had sent to a female member of the gym on 12/8/2016:
"So I just want to say hi. I usually don't do this but I don't want to interrupt your workout. Just want to say that you are the most beautiful woman ever and love your smile everyday I get to see ya. Hopefully you accept my friend request....lol....and if your available and if you'd ever want to get coffee or lunch or see a movie....id love to get to know you. If not....ill take seeing you at the gym. Hope you have a great night."
Furthermore, the owner uses the Powerhouse Gym social media page (Instagram) to make inappropriate comments on other pages (mainly women) and it has also been seen that in some cases the owner will like pornographic material. Many times, the owner is completely unaware of the status of his business and highly depends on his colleague to maintain the business.
Next topic of discussion. The general manager of this establishment, Mr. Chaz Sutton, is a highly unprofessional person who runs the "personal training department" and a fitness "team" called CKfit. CKfit has many members/"personal trainers" - some compete in national bodybuilding shows, some purely for weight loss/general health improvement. Though I commend Chaz's efforts to improve the lives of other people who seek his help, he is not a qualified individual to conduct any type of personal training service.
To begin, CKfit is comprised of numerous members that claim themselves to be "personal trainers". To my knowledge, there are little, if any, personal trainers within that group that actually have proper certifications in personal training. Being that they are within a franchised gym such as powerhouse, this is illegal. Furthermore, many of his "personal trainers" offer to give their clientele diet plan. I highly doubt that any of his members are certified in basic nutrition, which also makes this illegal. Lastly, he divides his group into sections in which if you do not compete in bodybuilding shows you are simply known as a client. If you haven't competed in a bodybuilding show, but are interested in conducted a prep with CKfit, then you are labeled as a "prospect". If you compete or stay within the prospect title for at least a year, then you get promoted to the "CKfit squad". I did not know that bodybuilding was a team sport, and I didn't know that people are like property who have to work in order to get promoted within a group.
Chaz has no knowledge of basic nutrition and constantly writes knock off nutrition plans to his members for an outrageous price. Furthermore, he has no knowledge of basic supplementation to which he constantly advises his "prospects" to take. In addition, many times he has advised some of his clientele to take illegal supplements (many of them from places like Japan and China) and steroids. Many times, in order to keep this under the table, he advises his clients to take steroids behind closed doors of the office of the gym.
Chaz also claims to have personal relationships with all of his clients. It has been stated that he got into a verbal altercation with another member of the gym over a female client deciding to leave his training services. This client was dissatisfied with Chaz's service during the duration of the prep, and another member of the gym had advised this client to seek another coach. Immediately Chaz became angered. So much so that he cried, and also was hospitalized due to an apparent anxiety attack.
Chaz became upset with me because he thought I was stealing his clients when I was not. I am not a trainer, nor do I want to be one or claim to be. He threatened me with violence, harassed my sexual orientation, and my body image. He even when as far as acting like a child and grabbed my glasses (which he broke) and my car keys continuously asking me to get out when I was not causing any type of disturbance. If I am training with someone, that doesn't constitute me as a trainer.
Chaz is a married man, but he needs to learn not to get mad over females leaving him. Especially if they decide to leave him as a trainer. #drake read more
