This company fraudulently took ACH payments out of my account for several years. I did not catch it andwhen I called them they changed the date that I cancelled. Dishonest, corrupt company. My mom had a toll free telephone number that was hosted/serviced by PowerNet Global. When she passed away, I had to change her account into my name. (One of a couple of dozen or so accounts and services that needed to be changed.) PNG was by far the most difficult and incompetent company I had to deal with. They were unresponsive and gave me different instructions several times as to what kind of information they need, and in which form. Now it's five months later and I'm passing on the account and phone number to someone else who takes over my mom's business. It's the same spiel this time. First, PNG wanted to have a three-way call between myself, the new owner and their customer service department. We did that. They gave us instructions on what to fax them. We did that too. Now, a day later, they want more info and on a letterhead of a company that doesn't even exist yet. Given that they had three different requests by three different service rep people, I asked them to send me an email with the exact instructions. But, no, they can't do that. It's either against their policy or (don't laugh) against SEC rules to do that, I forgot which excuse they used. All in all I would recommend to stay away from this company. read more

I have been on the phone almost daily for over 3 weeks trying to get PowerNet Global to port my existing phone number to another carrier. I have spoken with supervisors who assured me they would get back to me to resolve the problem but daily they tell me they are so sorry they will get back to me tomorrow. I have filed a complaint with the FCC and the BBB, but my problem continues without resolution read more

Only after I investigated our bill did I notice a $1.99 monthly paper charge (we do nothing by paper and their system won't let you go paperless). Long story short they are "fired". Back in 2009 they were recommended by a knowledgeable friend, and initially did a good job, but they've been declining ever since. Almost immediately they doubled the rate for the main foreign country we were calling, which was the main reason we switched from Sprint. They've recently started adding strange charges, which for a company competing solely on price is the kiss of death. (I agree with the other reviewers about their customer service; my email has never been answered, and when I gave up and telephoned, that was even more of a waste of time.) The straw that broke the camel's back was a new charge for a paper statement, which you could supposedly opt out of on the web site, except that the web site won't let you create an account. I'll regret moving to one of the quasi-monopolists, but a separate bill for more expensive and inferior service is not worth the time wasted. read more

i used PNG for a few years, then I sent them 3, yes three, messages using their own web site ticketing system asking them to close my account. They said my account was closed last month in all three messages, I have their own ticket numbers and responses to prove it. Nnow they just sent me a new bill. Does that sound like good business practice to you? Find someone else to handle your calls, these guys are terrible. If they don't fix it immediately I will contact the BBB, FCC, their president, and start a couple of blogs telling the world what they did. I can think of better ways to spend my time. If you think this sounds like fun then go ahead and use them, but don't be surprised if it blows up in your face. read more

I wish I could give a zero star for this company. I have been a PowerNet customer since 2005 and their customer service has been going "down the tube". I have been having issues with their internet site and their customer service phone number. I can't reach anyone there. I cannot pay online either (I used to) and to enter an e-ticket for customer assistance is almost impossible. When I was finally able to get one through... nobody from PowerNet responds to the request. Also, calling their customer service phone number does not work. There is only a recording stating to call back during normal business hours when I CALLED them during BUSINESS HOURS. I ACTUALLY called them SEVERAL TIMES during BUSINESS HOURS and I only get the same recording. I will be shopping around for a new provider and canceling my account with PowerNet. I decided to post this review in case someone who is considering in acquire services with PowerNet needs a feedback, and to warn anyone of possible future headaches with them. read more

Don't waste your time and money. Customer service does not exist. Spent hours on hold only to be dropped. Often found my "monthly recurring charges" to be more than the actual long distance charges. went back to my local phone provider. Customer Service is horrible! I signed up for e-Bill in early March after being notified they would be imposing a 99¢ monthly fee for paper billing. They are still charging me this fee, even though I have not received paper bills though the mail for the last 3 billing cycles. I phoned to speak to a customer service representative, and had to leave a voicemail message for them to call me back! They called later in the afternoon when I wasn't home. I phoned again, yesterday, and had to leave a voicemail for them to return my call. These callbacks are AT THEIR CONVENIENCE, not when I am able to speak to them! They phoned this morning, but I was not able to take the call at that time. When trying to use their online customer support (eticket) there is very limited "character" space, and I am not able to type a full message to them. I had to abbreviate immensely, and the answer I received was useless. I was told to call their customer service number; AND they tried to sell me a "bundle service" in their reply. I guess it's time to switch back to AT&T for my long distance. I'm not completely happy with that option either, but at least I will be able to call and speak to someone, and not have to leave a message for them to call me back. I have even called AT&T before and had the option of holding for the next available rep., or to be put in the queue for them to return my call within a pre-determined wait time. PNG's policy is to return your call within 24 hours! read more

Do not use this company!! I switched over to Verizon and Powernet never disconnected me on their end. I continued to receive bills from them for 3 months.....there was no activity on my line, yet they charged me. Then they sent it to collections. Don't deal with this company! read more

I had been a customer of this large NO CUSTOMER SERVICE company for about five years. I normally sent a hundred dollars and let it be used for the monthly billing. After the credit was used, I would send another one hundred. When this firm started business, they were very customer oriented. Now, they are a large crappy outfir. They are non responsive, and are liars. I tried cancelling my account but they keep billing me montly and are working off my credit. I told them I would take them to small claims court. The rep said go ahead, they don't care. The clerks you speak with are not very bright and have no authority to think or make a decision on even two dollars. This is a typical mega company who does not care about the customer. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with these crooks!! read more

I gave them an extremely tight window to complete their work and they did so without hesitation. Not to mention, this window was during the Holiday Season/New Year.
