I was helping my buddy search for a project car online (E30 BMW) and found one in Austin, Texas…read more  The car was in great physical condition but needed some mechanical work, which was is exactly what my friend was looking for.  We started looking around for an auto shipper, who would get the car from Austin to L.A. in decent time and without breaking the bank.  We called and emailed a few places in Austin and L.A..  Austin Auto Shipping was able to give us a good price and a very reasonable time-frame.  They were transparent about the process, and sent us pictures of their truck and trailer the car would be transported on.  They also said the car would be insured in case anything happened during the trip to L.A. This defintely helped my friend make the decission to go with them.  The car arrived on the date that was promised and in the exact same condition as it left Austin.  Thanks again for the outstanding service, guys.  Cheers!

I even made an error in scheduling the pickup which they helped correct at short notice. Terms and conditions were clearly communicated. I was allowed 100lbs of trunk storage so that was a plus! (FYI: S2S is an agent and not the carrier itself.) They also provided a limited $100k insurance for the car (with some terms) included in the quote. They would not assume liability for any items stored in the car itself and that's perfectly understandable in context of the nature of the move. The carrier contacted me separately and coordinated a pickup. They too were very polite and communicative. The trailer understandably could not be driven into residential areas, so I had to drive out a few miles to meet the transporter both at Austin and San Diego. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend their services.

I worked primarily with Jake J., who was responsive, honest, and patient. He guided me through the process and followed up with me after we spoke on multiple occasions. When I asked him about a cheaper quote that I had received from a different moving company (they do their best to match quotes), he was honest with me about that particular company's reputation, providing me with links to unbiased and credible reviews (which were consistently poor and unfavorable). I know that some people may think that Jake was just trying to get my business, but he told me this: "Even if you don't use us, I would urge you not to use them. I'd be happy knowing that in the end you are in good hands even if it's not us." The main thing I gained from my interactions with Cross Country Movers was more knowledge. Moving can be stressful and confusing, but after speaking with Jake and asking him all sorts of questions, I feel much more confident in making moving decisions and choices. I truly felt taken care of with Jake. He was like my moving guardian angel! The only reason why I didn't end up going with Jake and Cross Country Movers was because my dad and brother are actually helping me out (the most cost effective option for me!). Once they picked up my stuff, I never heard a word from them. No updates, no tracking info, nothing. I had no idea where my belongings were or when they would arrive. The worst part? They completely overcharged me. The initial estimate was way lower than the final bill, and they tacked on extra, unexplained fees that were never mentioned during booking. It felt like they were just taking advantage of me at every turn. And now, even though it's been weeks, my stuff still isn't here! No one is giving me a clear answer or timeline. This company is a complete disaster and I wouldn't trust them with a single item, let alone an entire move. Do yourself a favor and find a reputable moving company. Cross Country Movers is an absolute nightmare. The driver took my car back to Texas in just 2 days without an issues. He tried to come as close as he could to the residence to drop off the car. The car was clean and unharmed. Update: check out their passive aggressive response to me and ask yourself if this is who you want to trust moving your vehicle. I sold my car because they couldn't secure a driver. Once they did it was too late. That's the reason for the review. Need I say duh? Update again: wow these guys really are a bunch of jokes. Look at this guys moronic response.
