Wonderful restaurant. Its right next to the motel off the Interstate 70. Coffee is good & strong enough tokeep a trucker awake. Family of 5 had a great meal there. $$$ Great spaghetti. Tasty strawberry French toast. The chicken & fries were filling enough we took half the large chicken tenders home in a doggy box. They have local brands of sodapop so ask if you want a cola or sparkling clear kind. They have a chalk written wall of the daily specials. Note: they do not accept Credit Cards. It's pay by check or cash only.

Awesome food On a long drive we got off this exit for gas and food. After driving through and seeing the options we decided on this restaurant. It is unassuming from the outside. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We tried the meatloaf and mashed potatoes and fish dinner. Both were delicious. Also if you have kids it is a great spot. They have a kids menu.

I've been here a few times in the last 20 years, and seemingly each time it's different in a weird way. I'm aware that it's a homestyle restaurant by day for the elderly people and a drunk diner for nearby bar patrons at night. That's how I've heard it, at least. Their food is so-so...I mean, if you're looking for quality food, this is not your place. It's got basic dinner items, plus some fried goodies here and there. They used to have pies, but now for dessert it's either a bowl of ice cream or cobbler. Better than nothing, I guess, but pie always goes well after a dinner! Service was friendly, restrooms were clean. No shortage of Gretchen Wilson tributes around town, especially here. This is a cash-only place, so do not bring your cards in. I know, I was thinking "Get with the times!", too, but you gotta remember that this is a small town with a small town environment.

Mini tacos, freaking adorable and creative, wow!!

I love to see great restaurants so completely slammed that I want to help them out. They deserve the business! As does place! They struggled to stay open, all Pandemic long. Many times during the summer, I was the only customer here, determined to support the small business walking distance from my semi drop yard. And yay! They are flourishing! Delicious, adorable, creative food; small bar; friendly but busy wait staff. Absolutely check this place out! Dont be difficult when they are busy. They get REALLY busy!! Without sacrificing service, tho, so bonus points for that!

What a cute place place to grab some food, wine or cocktail, and listen to live music! My spouse…read moreand I went on a Friday night when Brandon Munie was performing, and we got great seats up under the raised pavilion, further away from the mosquitos and overlooking the lake. It was an incredibly hot evening, but I enjoyed a frozen peach sangria, which helped keep me cool. (The fans up there didn't work, so the frozen drink was almost a necessity.) My spouse and I split a flatbread pizza and a berry salad, too. The salad was fine--it needed a lot more nuts and a touch of salt. The flatbread, though, was REALLY delicious! The frozen sangria was great, too--sweet but not coyingly so. A friend I was with ordered one with a splash of red wine on top, making it a touch less sweet and more balanced, according to her. I'll try that next time. The winery closed earlier than I expected, but the musician was great. Copperdock was still a great place to spend an evening with friends or family. I recommend a visit!

Throughout our visit, someone from our table had to get up 4-5 times to get food or drinks and even take our checks and credit cards to the register ourselves in order to pay. I also ordered the charcuterie board for our table of four women to share because I was really craving some fruit. At over $22, I expected much more. The presentation looked as though it had been thrown together by a toddler, and the portion size was disappointing. The seven (plus one shriveled) whole grapes included certainly did not satisfy my fruit craving. For the price point, I expected better service, a more thoughtfully prepared charcuterie board, and a more enjoyable overall dining experience.

We have been there 3 times and every time expecting different results. What I have to say is the food is just so so. Everything I have ordered is just lack luster with no great flavors. I have ordered walleye which I'm sure was not what I ordered no way tasted like walleye! I have also ordered chicken which was MEH! Not sure what the 3rd was but I do know it was not memorable. I sure think this could be a fantastic place if the entrees were better.

My sister-in-law told me about this place, so I decided to give it a try. Diamond Mineral Springs…read morewas established in 1892. Now that's a lot of history right there. There is a main dining room and a back porch dining room during the summer. It's kind of hard to find because it's out in the country North of Highland, Illinois. There is a nice big asphalt parking lot. The building looks like a beautiful old farm house to me. I love big ole porches! When you step inside, you can really feel the history. I adore the old wooden floors and beams. The hostess was so nice and told us to sit wherever we wanted. I love booths, so I headed to the back wall and snuggled into a tiny wooden booth. Hubby wasn't too happy because the booths are small, but I loved it. We had a young man as our server and he was so friendly, helpful and took very good care of us. Now the food is served family style. Each person is allowed to pick an entree and then the sides are served family style. You don't get a choice for sides, it's pretty much whatever is on the blackboard on the wall. I'm not a big fan of that, but I was ready to just roll with whatever and enjoy the experience. Hubby ordered the pork and dressing and I ordered the fried chicken. The first thing to arrive was a small bowl of Cole slaw. It was the vinegar kind and it was really good. Then our dinner came. We received bowls of mashed potatoes, green beans with bacon and onions, gravy, biscuits and a big squeeze bottle of apple butter! Then of course, hubby got a big plate of shredded pork and dressing covered in gravy. I got a plate full of fried chicken! The fried chicken was great! Hubby ended up eating half of mine. He said the pork was just okay. The mashed potatoes, green beans and biscuits were also great! I didn't try the apple butter, but I'm sure it was good. This place is kind of known for its pies, so we had to get pie...right?! Hubby got cherry pie and I got chocolate meringue pie. Okay, unfortunately the pie wasn't that great. They had the dreaded 'soggy bottom.' They probably weren't that fresh and that's okay. I still ate most of mine. The meringue was yummy. We had a fun, delicious experience in a very old historic restaurant. My only complaint is how expensive it was. But as hubby keeps reminding me, that's just how everything is right now. Any place you go to eat seems to be so expensive. Every time I go to the grocery store I about have a stroke. So I understand why it was expensive, but my frugal side just doesn't like it. Hopefully, prices will come down again in the future. If you're in the area, give this place a try, it might just bring back some wonderful memories of days gone by.
