As long as 15 people are on the tour, they will take you to your Calebra. If less than 15 you stay local! There were well over 15 so we were able to tour Calebra. It was so beautiful! Once you get there, they pick you up on a ferry to take you to the boat . The boat travels for about an hour before getting to a private island and that is where you get the guided snorkeling or diving tour depending on what you selected! My friends and I did the snorkeling. As someone who can't swim (I know I know lol) I had a great time. The tour guides were very informative and helpful for all ages and swim levels. They do provide fruit, cold cut sandwiches and rum punch and when you stop . If you're looking for a "party" boat then this may not be for you. Don't expect lots of liquor and twerking etc it's a family type tour, Some of my friends were a bit disappointed by the price expecting that we'd stop somewhere that had a bar and restaurant but it was just a private island (we're in our high 20s low 30s). So idk I think it depends on your expectations but I was okay with everything and the service was great!

We were told we had to first buy and complete the course work through PADI and from There they would do the water/ dive sessions and compete the certification. The shop also gets a kick back from Padi as work since it makes u select a dive shop where ur course work is sent to. Once we complete the course work, we each reached out to the dive shop about 2 - 1 1/2 weeks in advance to schedule the dates and times for the water sessions. We did not receive any type of response back from the shop. We attempted to message on whatsup as requested but still did not receive a confirmation or any type of communication. We called down to the shop, where we were told to just text them. We again tried to text the shop but did not receive any response. We flew to San Juan and arrived and immediately went to the shop, we were told to text them and they would get back to us.. we asked directly if they had availability and we were told they would check and get back to us via text.... A day goes by, we attempt to call and no response.. fully we get a text saying they are fully committed...... This was without doubt the worst type of un-reliable customer service and a refusal to communicate.. I would not trust this dive shop or operation. They should never have told us to use to do the course work with their shop and then refuse to complete our certification. Luckily Scuba Dogs next door came to our rescue when we told them about the horrible customer service we received. Just be aware this shop will not be reliable.

The nice thing about Try Scuba Diving is they work well with all abilities of swimming experience. After checking in with the manager Ricky and getting his thorough orientation, we were placed in Juana's group based on our ability. She was a great guide, explained everything well with knowing how to put on life vests and goggles and swim fins. She stayed with us throughout the swim and even pointed us to a cool encounter with a sea turtle. Overall a great time and a super fun experience .

He was friendly, patient, attentive, and made sure everyone in our group felt comfortable and had a great time. You can tell he genuinely cares about what he does, as well as the ocean and the wildlife that call it home. We were lucky enough to see seven sea turtles up close, and watching them swim, eat, and just go about their day was incredible. Raul also found a few other fascinating sea creatures that we were able to safely hold and observe. (Not the turtles, of course, since they're protected.) It made the experience even more memorable. The complimentary videos were excellent and are something we'll treasure for years to come. Raul did a great job capturing the experience while still making safety and everyone's enjoyment his top priority. There was a small last minute change to the meeting location that caused us a little stress, but these things happen. Even though we arrived later than expected because of the confusion, the team still took great care of us and made sure we didn't miss out on an incredible experience. I couldn't have asked for a better guide or a better snorkeling tour. If you're visiting Puerto Rico and thinking about snorkeling with sea turtles, I 100% recommend this company and, if you're lucky enough to get Raul as your guide, you're in for an unforgettable experience!

Nolo was an expert guide who taught us clearly and effectively how to paddle board and spent 99% of the time upright and enjoying ourselves! Nolo came prepared with everything we needed and even brought along our sunscreen for after snorkeling. He knew all the best places to dive and brought his go pro so we could have footage and pictures from our experience. Through the trip we saw many manatees, a spotted stingray, a sardine school, a sea turtle in the distance, a barracuda, and of course tons and tons of fish! Easy one of the easiest, most fun, and memorable experiences we've had and we were so lucky to have Nolo as our guide. Thank you again!!

First off, I will tell you one thing…read more Deducted 1 stars (now) was (-2) for : There was a YELP check in offer for $30 for 1hr of paddle boarding and 1hr water park. Will look for the picture. Since, yesterday it has changed to their normal prices. The deducting another 1 star because: 1- There is no formal training. If they think 2 mins of telling you how to row, kneel, and stand than I guess they might as well deduct $10 for that. And just rent out paddle boards lol. 2- I'm a very strong swimmer and found it very hard to maneuver against the wind/current. 3-Things they've failed to mention do not stand if your paddling against the waves. You will flip over. You will go in and basically teach yourself and if you have common sense then you will come out of it learning and teaching yourself how to paddle board. Again you will TEACH yourself how to paddle board. LOL Btw- I did see a manatee up close and that was pretty nice. And yes, I came out an avid self taught pro paddle boarder. We called ahead to reserve five paddleboards for an hour ($20/person), and were greeted immediately upon arrival. They were very accommodating even though we were a little late. There was even a place to store our wallets and backpacks despite the whole thing being outdoors. After paying with our credit cards (also a plus, since most places in San Juan only take cash), we were given a quick crash course on how to paddleboard as the others in my group had never been before and sent out into the water. The lagoon was pretty calm -- no waves or strong current, so it wasn't too hard to paddle. The best part for me was definitely the manatee that we found swimming the middle of the lagoon. Overall, wonderful experience.

1-Star Review -- Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more Our experience with Scuba Dogs in Puerto Rico was extremely disappointing, and the biggest issue was the complete breakdown in communication and the way the situation was handled afterward. A week before our scheduled dive, Scuba Dogs contacted us and changed our dive time from 9:00 AM to 8:00 AM. However, 24 hours before our dive, we received another confirmation email from Scuba Dogs clearly stating that our scheduled dive time was 9:00 AM. Naturally, we relied on the most recent written confirmation sent directly by the company. The morning of our dive, the staff began calling us around 8:15 AM telling us we were late for our 8:00 AM dive. We explained that the confirmation email they had sent us the day before stated 9:00 AM. At that point, instead of acknowledging their own conflicting communication, they began discussing trying to reschedule us. We were traveling through Puerto Rico traffic and remained in communication with them by phone throughout the morning. We arrived later than expected because of traffic, but still within 30 minutes of the 9:00 AM time stated in their most recent confirmation email. Despite knowing we were actively on our way, they had already sent our dive guides home. They then refused to provide the dive AND refused to refund our money. What made an already frustrating situation worse was the response from the owner and staff. Rather than acknowledging that their own confirmation email contained the 9:00 AM time, they argued with us and insisted that we were outside the scheduled window. It is incredibly frustrating for a business to send a customer a written confirmation with a specific time, communicate with that customer throughout the morning, and then refuse service and keep the customer's money because the business claims a different time applied. We understand that dive operators have schedules to maintain and that customers have a responsibility to arrive on time. But customers also have every right to expect a company to honor the appointment time stated in the confirmation email it sends 24 hours before the scheduled service. If 8:00 AM was truly the final scheduled time, then the confirmation sent the day before should have said 8:00 AM--not 9:00 AM. The poor communication could have been an understandable mistake. Refusing to take responsibility for that mistake, sending the guides home while knowing we were on our way, arguing with us about their own conflicting communications, and then refusing to refund our money is what made this experience unacceptable. We planned part of our Puerto Rico trip around this dive and were genuinely looking forward to it. Instead, we lost our dive experience and our money because of conflicting information sent by the company itself. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Scuba Dogs. If you do book with them, I strongly suggest saving every email and confirmation you receive, because apparently even the appointment time shown in their most recent written confirmation may not be the time they expect you to follow.

From the beginning, everything was explained in a way that made sense and didn't feel overwhelming. That alone made a big difference for me. Joshua and Alex were awesome, SUPER patient, really easy to talk to, and overall really good fun people to dive with. They gave me the space to enjoy my dive and not feel like I was being watched every second. The dive itself was really cool. Conditions were calm, nothing felt rushed, and I was able to just take it all in while still building my confidence and gaining experience. The whole vibe was just really welcoming and very professional. I left feeling better about my skills and just excited to keep diving.
