Love this beach! We visited during the week so there was plenty of parking options. The beach is not necessarily that big but it was very nice and clean. The water was crystal clear, you could literally see your feet in the sand. Of all the beaches we visited this water was the clearest. The only drawback is that they don't offer any beach chairs or umbrellas and if you are a tourist you are left to towels only.

Escambron Beach is about 20-30 minutes away from PR's international Airport. It's on the entrance of Old San Juan (Historic district of Puerto Rico's Capital) and it's very frequented by both locals and tourists. With lots of parking ($5 all day parking), clean restrooms and an awesome trail to walk around while enjoying the scenery, this beach is popular and is in a convenient location. Waves are always very chill and lots of people visit to just bathe or snorkel. Sits across the street of a great park, with playgrounds and lots of gazebos and space to hang and has always a lifeguard on duty. If you want to experience a Puerto Rican beach, near the "touristy area" and not drive out of the metropolitan area, I would definitely recommend this beach. Very clean, beautiful and great for the family.

Great full service beach and easy walk from our apartment. Snorkeling options, bathrooms, and a nice sandy beach. Easy to spend a 1/2 here. Paid parking lot.

If you're looking for a nice relaxing day on a private island then this may be the trip for you!…read moreThis is a group tour that travels with more than just those you booked with. As long as 15 people are on the tour, they will take you to your Calebra. If less than 15 you stay local! There were well over 15 so we were able to tour Calebra. It was so beautiful! Once you get there, they pick you up on a ferry to take you to the boat . The boat travels for about an hour before getting to a private island and that is where you get the guided snorkeling or diving tour depending on what you selected! My friends and I did the snorkeling. As someone who can't swim (I know I know lol) I had a great time. The tour guides were very informative and helpful for all ages and swim levels. They do provide fruit, cold cut sandwiches and rum punch and when you stop . If you're looking for a "party" boat then this may not be for you. Don't expect lots of liquor and twerking etc it's a family type tour, Some of my friends were a bit disappointed by the price expecting that we'd stop somewhere that had a bar and restaurant but it was just a private island (we're in our high 20s low 30s). So idk I think it depends on your expectations but I was okay with everything and the service was great!

We were told we had to first buy and complete the course work through PADI and from There they would do the water/ dive sessions and compete the certification. The shop also gets a kick back from Padi as work since it makes u select a dive shop where ur course work is sent to. Once we complete the course work, we each reached out to the dive shop about 2 - 1 1/2 weeks in advance to schedule the dates and times for the water sessions. We did not receive any type of response back from the shop. We attempted to message on whatsup as requested but still did not receive a confirmation or any type of communication. We called down to the shop, where we were told to just text them. We again tried to text the shop but did not receive any response. We flew to San Juan and arrived and immediately went to the shop, we were told to text them and they would get back to us.. we asked directly if they had availability and we were told they would check and get back to us via text.... A day goes by, we attempt to call and no response.. fully we get a text saying they are fully committed...... This was without doubt the worst type of un-reliable customer service and a refusal to communicate.. I would not trust this dive shop or operation. They should never have told us to use to do the course work with their shop and then refuse to complete our certification. Luckily Scuba Dogs next door came to our rescue when we told them about the horrible customer service we received. Just be aware this shop will not be reliable.

My mom and I got the lovely tour guide Elizabeth. I love how she constantly checked on everyone as she knew most of us never snorkeled before- she checked on me often as well since with snorkeling you have to breathe through your mouthpiece and not your nose but I'm a nose breather - so this was really hard but it can be accomplished and it does become fun once you learn ( my only issue ). The tour was in a nice little area. The check in process was so easy and you get paired into groups with your own tour guide. I think it's 9 max per group. The experience is beautiful and so different, I got to see and swim with a sea turtle, saw so much fish, these beautiful blue fish and so much sea life. Elizabeth took AMAZING pictures and videos (all you have to do it ask). The pictures really are the best, I paid for an underwater phone case and it was useless so I'm glad this excursion included pictures and videos. I enjoyed it so much I want to keep snorkeling in different parts of the world. Oh at first you start off with your life vest- but if you swim very well and want it off after awhile you can. Which I did and swam to the bottom to get cool pics and vids with the sea turtle I was so hype about this! Even if you're scared or nervous I say DO IT! Muchas gracias Elizabeth you rock!

We enjoyed viewing the shipwreck and saw lots of small fish and a sea urchin. Would highly recommend! Our starting point was on Isla de Cabras, which was an interesting little park, although a bit of a struggle getting an Uber there. Some delays there, but nothing bad. Great view of El Morro too.

From the beginning, everything was explained in a way that made sense and didn't feel overwhelming. That alone made a big difference for me. Joshua and Alex were awesome, SUPER patient, really easy to talk to, and overall really good fun people to dive with. They gave me the space to enjoy my dive and not feel like I was being watched every second. The dive itself was really cool. Conditions were calm, nothing felt rushed, and I was able to just take it all in while still building my confidence and gaining experience. The whole vibe was just really welcoming and very professional. I left feeling better about my skills and just excited to keep diving.

When we arrived, unfortunately they had completely run out of gear due to a large cruise group that had come through earlier. That already made things difficult, but what was more disappointing was the lack of guidance afterward. We weren't really given any direction on where to go or what areas were best for snorkeling. The only helpful interaction we had was with one staff member (Caitlin/Kaitlyn--apologies if I'm spelling it wrong), who was kind enough to show us a map and point us in the right direction. She was genuinely the only person who provided any real assistance. We also rented a GoPro, which in hindsight felt unnecessary since we didn't end up seeing any fish or turtles at all. The equipment overall also didn't feel very well maintained. My snorkel had visible teeth marks on the tube, which made it uncomfortable to use, and the masks weren't the best quality. Based on our experience, I think this may work better if you're booking an actual guided tour. However, I would not recommend it for a simple equipment rental if you are unfamiliar with the area or snorkeling spots. We left pretty disappointed with the experience.

They gave us instructions for snorkeling, and helped everyone to securely fasten their gear. We stopped at three spots for snorkeling. The first one were very close to Icacos Island, which was deliberately in a shallow area, so first time snorkelers like me can get some practice before going into deeper waters. The other two spots we stopped were in the middle of the ocean, among the reefs and vast expanse of the Caribbean Sea. Herbert, an experienced diver that guided our tour, dove down and flipped lots of rocks and caught little star fish, urchins, shrimps, crabs and other interesting creatures for us to see. It was amazing, and something I couldn't have done if I were on my own. Snorkeling is such an easy sport, even though I've only swan in water parks before, I find it easy to swim the sea with no problem. Lunch was prepared by them, with cold cuts, cheese and sandwich bread. I'm not a fan of these type of food, but I didn't expect hand pulled noodles in the middle of the sea either. Food was not the point of this trip anyway. If you don't like these food, you can always bring snacks and just put them in the cabin downstairs. In the end, we sailed by this small piece of land and saw iguanas climbing up the trees. It was really nice. I learned about this tour rather late, so I didn't meet the book online window (at least 12 hours ahead), had to call in and make reservation. I would recommend everyone taking advantage of their online booking system, it is real-time and you get $10 off.
