Gillian always kept important dates in front of us, communicated clear guidelines and expectations of what we needed to do at each step, and what to expect from the buyer/seller as well. What is probably one of Gillian's top qualities is that she's a realist. This is a key quality you want in any real estate agent. Someone who can give it to you straight with realistic expectations that doesn't try to sell you the moon. She doesn't overpromise on things outside of her control that she can't deliver. I have seen and heard of other agents who overpromise or aren't realistic and it ends up hurting people in the process, which leads to major disappointments, like houses sitting on the market for longer than expected, offers falling through, and other surprises. No such events occurred with Gillian in three different scenarios we've had with her. In fact, quite the opposite. We've loved every house decision we've made with her - purchasing our first home here, selling that same house, and buying our new house. At no part of buying/selling, was she every pushy nor pressure us into any decision. Matt was immediately friendly and easy to get along with when we began our search. He drove us around for about 4 hours looking at 9 or 10 places. Our budget was really low and he managed to find places we could realistically afford. He asked all the right questions at the complexes and even convinced some places to agree to waive certain fees. (Who knew there were so many fees with renting a place!) We didn't know a lot about the areas going into it and Matt gave us a really nice tour and overview of the city. Once he explained things we kind of changed our mind about our neighborhood preference. He didn't have a problem adding and changing places to take us to look and was patient and helpful throughout the process. We couldn't decide that night which place to rent and he didn't pressure us at all to make a decision. I really felt like he just wanted us to find some place we liked -- which we did, and even though it wasn't a place he showed us he was still nice about it!
