Gillian is the absolute best! This is the second time we've worked with her over the last few years we've lived in Austin. To say she's been a godsend to us is not being facetious! We recently sold our old house, which she actually helped us purchase the first time we worked with her a few years ago, and she also helped us purchase our new home recently just a few months ago. Gillian has years of real estate experience in just the Austin area alone and has purchased/sold several of her own houses in this area, so to say she is an expert in this market is an understatement. In a past life she has also done home renovations, so knows the contracting side of the business as well. She is super knowledgable about finding the right comps, lenders, inspectors, plumbers, contractors, neighborhoods, schools, and all other factors you might not even think of in purchasing/selling. Throughout both of our selling/buying processes, she was able to manage both very well in tandem. Gillian always kept important dates in front of us, communicated clear guidelines and expectations of what we needed to do at each step, and what to expect from the buyer/seller as well. What is probably one of Gillian's top qualities is that she's a realist. This is a key quality you want in any real estate agent. Someone who can give it to you straight with realistic expectations that doesn't try to sell you the moon. She doesn't overpromise on things outside of her control that she can't deliver. I have seen and heard of other agents who overpromise or aren't realistic and it ends up hurting people in the process, which leads to major disappointments, like houses sitting on the market for longer than expected, offers falling through, and other surprises. No such events occurred with Gillian in three different scenarios we've had with her. In fact, quite the opposite. We've loved every house decision we've made with her - purchasing our first home here, selling that same house, and buying our new house. At no part of buying/selling, was she every pushy nor pressure us into any decision. She would give strong advice at times to warn us about potential pitfalls, but knows when to give space and allowed us to come to a decision ourselves. We have built up a great relationship with her over time and now consider her like our real estate "mom" because she really cares about our livelihood and family! As a testament to the kind of person she is, after we bought our first house, she sent us birthday texts/greetings and gifts too!! Ok, I know it looks like I go around giving high ratings to real estate agents, but hear me out.... When my partner and I were looking to purchase a home in Austin, we began by working with a fantastic agent (hence the other high review) who happened to have a scheduled vacation when we found the right home for us. I met Gillian in January and I was already feeling hesitant about working with a real estate agent due to all the bad experiences with them in the past. Man, did Gillian provide me wrong. She has been nothing but warm, hilarious, and totally client centered. I really liked that Gillian was so patient and understanding of my situation since I am a first time home owner.
