One of the most beautiful public golf courses (voted number 1 or 2 in New England every year),…read moreTaconic offers tournament quality golf to anyone. The course is beautiful, with a manageable front and long back 9 (6500 yrs) from the middle tees. The course is open and even high handicap golfers will not lose many balls; there are really only a few spots on the course that are truly out of bounds. The staff is typically very friendly, Jeremy who manages the bag room is particularly nice. The pros are all great too. The whole place is well maintained, as they do host PGA (junior/womens) events from time to time. The greens play very fast towards the end of summer, and some of them slope in ways that will really frustrate anyone. Price-wise, the place is on the upper end if you have no college affiliation (about 140 or so) but is exceptionally cheap for students (35 dollars) so definitely a place to visit if you are in the area and still in school. The course truly cannot be recommended enough, and it offers some exceptional views of both the Williams College campus and the surrounding areas.

You could play it the rest of your life and never tire of it. The club is so extremely welcoming. They make you feel like a member. The locker room, the grill, the patio are all wonderful. The only thing better than a visit would be to be e member. It is, bar none, my favorite place to play golf.

First we all took a Zumba class! The instructor was an adorable lady with tons of energy so we had a blast! Then we all split up to do our own things. I personally took a quick shower then sat in the steam room but it didn't seem to be working so I went in the sauna, which I loved. Some other friends used the gym and others went in the pool. After the sauna I sat in the waiting area for my massage and drank a cup of herbal tea with my friends. My massage was excellent! So relaxing and she spent extra time on my areas where I asked her to focus- lower back and hips. After our massages, one of my friends and I went in the outdoor hot tub. What a great experience to be in that hot bubbly water while it was snowing! It's located in a covered area so it didn't snow on us. Then we came back inside and sat in the sauna one more time then I showered and got dressed. What a fun, relaxing time! I took a star off as the steam room wasn't working although I noticed someone contacted staff to inform them and it was fixed. Also, they only had small and extra large sandals available so I wore the small ones which were not very comfortable. My friends had trouble with their lockers and had to get staff more than once to assist them. Other than those minor issues, we had a fantastic experience!

The Equinox Resort is a beautiful, historic property but unfortunately the overall experience was…read moredisappointing. I spent a long weekend with the property for a wedding and for the amount that they charge, my expectations were not met. First, I made the reservation several weeks in advance over the phone and provided my estimated arrival time and flight number (from Albany). I asked if there was any possibility to check in early and the host stated that he would add the request to my reservation. When the day of check in finally came, I ended up arriving right at the start of the regular check in window at 4pm, instead of early, and to my surprise, the room was not ready yet. While annoying, this normally would not be a huge deal to me, however I had a wedding event to attend in just two hours and needed time to shower and freshen up. The room ended up being ready at 5:30pm. When I arrived back at the desk to finally get my key, the host stated that they had run out of the single person wedding bags and instructed me to return back to the desk later....not off to a good start. Next, my room. I booked a "well-appointed" king bed room in the main resort. Well, the disappointment continues. I open the door to my room to find a small room with a queen bed. There is one large window, two thirds of which are blocked by the dresser, TV, armoire, and the one third that wasn't blocked opens out upon the back roof and alleyway....not sure this was "well-appointed." Next, service. There was no housekeeping service after my first night. The AC in the room also broke leaving the room in the upper 70s over night. A bit exhausted from these mishaps, I headed out to the lobby to get a cup of coffee to kick start the day, and the coffee dispensers were all empty. I asked the front desk if they could be refilled and had to wait about 20 minutes for the refills to come out. Finally, when I checked out I mentioned that it seemed like I had received a downgraded room from my original reservation and the gentleman at the front desk promised that the property manager would reach out via email. No surprise at this point, I never received any communication, email or phone. For a resort that charges well over $300 a night, this was a miss.

Fore-U golf center has two 18 hole courses and a driving range. They also sort of have an ice cream place as well, it located halfway around the parking lot form the mini golf. They have a red course and a blue course, the blue course is the flatter and easier of the two, it loops all the way around the property and you get a nice view of the river. The red course is the harder of the two, it is more up and down and has the hill with the giant fake waterfall on it. Both courses were nice with some nice stone work and water features. I like the big koi pond at the end of the blue course. Both courses are in a bit of rough shape, I am not sure if that was because of how early in the year it was or if the just need some more TLC in general. None of the tuft was ripped, but it was pretty dirty in places. The guy working the register was wonderful, he reminded me of my grandpa. The price for the mini golf was not bad, $7 per adult and only $3 more to play both courses. I did not use the driving range, but it looked pretty nice and there were plenty of people using it. Overall a good place for 18 or 36 holes of mini golf, but it could use a good spring cleaning.
