The lobby was a child's playroom, equipped with toys, Legos, video games and an indoor treehouse type play structure. When Theresa took us back, she explained all the paperwork that I would have to look through and gave us a thorough tour of the facility. It is a very child friendly environment and my toddler loved it, she especially liked the fact that she got to choose her own toothbrush, toothpaste, and sand timer. She was sat down in an open area where all the children get checked up, had her own tv in the ceiling to keep her distracted while getting examined, and she got to wear cool pink shades for protection. Theresa explained all the instruments to my daughter and also let her touch them before they were used on her, which made her more comfortable. Amazingly, she did really well throughout her exam and then Dr. Guthrie came in to make sure there were no X-rays needed or any other dental problems. He also explained that he would be counting my daughters teeth to make her comfortable and was very quick and thorough so that my daughter didn't get scared or antsy. After her exam, she got to choose a toy to take home from their toy chest, stickers while I was signing paperwork, she received a dollar for not having any cavities and a balloon on our way out. She definitely did well on her first visit and am so glad that she didn't get traumatized by the dentist, which I'm sure a lot of toddlers do. I am glad I found this pediatric dentistry and thrilled that my daughter is going to be a happy patient here!

That being said, amongst other reason the main reason I would strong not recommend this dentist. My daughter who was 8 at the time, had a cavity filled by Dr. Osbourne. Long story short, we ended up leaving Dr. Osbourne and going to another dentist. Upon that visit I was told my daughter had and abscessed tooth (she had been complaining saying it hurt). It was explaining to me that the previous dentist (Dr. Osbourne) did not go deep enough into the tooth and remove the cavity therefore the tooth continued to rot out and had to pulled.

They made an appt for 7/31 to have it fixed. Because he was in pain and smiling faces couldnt see him earlier, I took him to another dentist. This dentist told me that it wasn't just going to be a "fixed filling" that now it was so deep that he needed a root canal. My son is in year 3 of his braces treatment, and has been religiously getting cleanings every 6 months. Was the dentist at Smiling Faces not doing her job to see that he needed more work done months ago??!?! I took him to a third dentist today, and there are even more teeth that have cavities that were never even mentioned! I will now have to reschedule all my other children to be re examined because smiling faces obviously just like charging insurance for a job not done! Dont take your kids here. There are far greater dentist offices out there.

However, I had the privilege to call the office and spoke to Dr. Turner concerning a billing issue. Since he advised me I could speak with him, I proceeded to advise of a notification from my insurance company advising me that my insurance was billed twice. I told him I knew there was no way my daughter could have the same exam twice on the same day, so I wanted to make sure there was nothing I needed to do concerning this matter. Rather than him simply advising me the matter would resolve itself and my insurance was accidentally billed twice, he, instead, demanded that I learn to read my bills and began arguing with me for calling the office. I told him I didn't want to argue, nor was I trying to accuse him of anything other than wanting to ensure there was no action I needed to take. Dr. Turner never allowed me to complete a sentence before becoming defensive and eventually hanging up on me. It was at that point I knew I needed to let you all know how unprofessional this man is. If it's too stressful for him to answer questions from the very party from whom he expects payment, then perhaps he should leave the phones to someone else to handle. I am beyond disappointed and saddened that this "professional" forgot how to utilize appropriate phone etiquette to handle customer service issues. I would never allow my daughter back because if there's one thing I'm a stickler on, it's customer service! Not only am I several hundred miles away from my daughter who attends school in OK, but I have the right to be respected as a human being--whether I received the service or not!
