Everyone was so thorough and answered our questions. We were so welcomed, made to feel cared for, and listened to. Mel took the time to show me to the cafeteria. Things I heard from Kaira-Cal-CJ-Pablo that really mattered to me: "We are at work, bother us, ask if you need something, it's what we are here for". It meant so much to me to be told that, as sometimes you can feel like a bother in the hospital.

Dr. Campbell used simple terms when explaining everything to us so we understood what he was doing at all times. He also made it very easy upon discharge with clear instructions for wound checks and the importance to watch for any infections and healing. The nurse was very nice to my mother and patient which was made for a less stressful situation. We had to follow up Saturday for wound check and was given the same service as Friday with everyone being just as nice.

They made an appt. I was laughed at, mocked, ridiculed. Got a letter week later saying you have suspucious cells. If you have breast cancer it's not out fault. I have a marble in my breast. You are monster's. I am indian but the open racism to my pale skin and blue eyes were appalling. I wouldn't send anyone there.

We took her immediately to the hospital. We arrived at around 2:30 pm. She was triaged fairly quickly and told that beds were full and that they would get to us as soon as possible. During our time there one person passed out, they were taken back fairly fast, as I guess they didn't want to keep cleaning up her puke from the floor again. The second person was losing consciousness and about to pass out and throwing up in the bag, but when her friend just tried to ask how long they would be was told just to sit down and they'll be with them shortly. This all escalated as another guest basically told the guy to sit down shut up and wait his turn then another guest defended this lady after the guy told her to politely mind her own business. Which caused the security guard to come out.  All the while it's 1 hour, then 2 hours , then 3 hours while my mom is still unseen sitting in that waiting room.  Getting cold and finally telling me she wanted to leave. I gave up and told the receptionist that we wanted to leave but she tried to say she would get us back soon but a nurse in maroon scrubs said no don't guarantee her that cause if someone else is sicker then her they will go in first before her. So I signed waiver an left. Shame on you SMC. You need to do better,  you basically were saying that a 93 year old woman who earlier was choking was not a concern of any kind. Is it gonna take someone passing on the waiting room floor for someone to wake up. Plus with the pandamonium and drama with the guests and patients there. It was a horrible experience.  .

All of the nurses are extremely qualified and eager to answer all question concerning your care. They check on you regulary to see if you need anything. I quit exactly 1 year & because I left an hour before my shift was over the Personnel Dir said I couldn't get my vacation pay. Unethical, unprofessional, rude, crude & socially unacceptable personnel in ALL areas of this hospital. There's plenty of crude words that would better describe the culture there but I won't stoop to their level of everyday vocabulary. Don't work there or seek services there! Men - dont let your wives or daughters work here.

To have to experience a situation like this is horrific in its own but to have such a caring, empathetic and knowledgeable team there ready and willing at all times really helped us get through this and that was just tremendous.
