I cannot say enough good things about this hospital. We are new to town and unfortunately had to be a patient. Kaira who works nights, my girl Cal (Katerina) who worked nights, Dr. Damera, Dr. Oseni, Mel-charge nurse, CJ, phlebotomist (I think his name was Pablo)...the night staff was just on point. Everyone was so thorough and answered our questions. We were so welcomed, made to feel cared for, and listened to. Mel took the time to show me to the cafeteria. Things I heard from Kaira-Cal-CJ-Pablo that really mattered to me: "We are at work, bother us, ask if you need something, it's what we are here for". It meant so much to me to be told that, as sometimes you can feel like a bother in the hospital. read more

I would not recommend going here. They are rude. Fake nurses, unnecessary procedures and I don't think they have good doctors anymore. The nurses are horrible and giggle and laugh. I needed a MRI and my doctor called ahead to make my appointment. I called the day before to get the test confirm my appoijntment and everything was good. I get there 30 minutes early like I was told to. When I get there they say that I can not there because I have a spinal stimulator. I need the manufacters rep. there to make sure its in the MRI mode. They called security on me and I was in a wheelchair, how much crap can I start??? FInally I said please call your boss. No one knew who there boss was!!! Finally some lady showed up and she did not know who her boss is or was. She did not know the phone number there either. She is totally incompetant. The some guy asks if I was at the hospital or clinic. I didn't know. These people are so very stupid. These people graduated at the bottom of their class and I would not trust anything they said abount me. read more

I came to the hospital thinking I was having a heart attack. No heart attack but they admitted me for tests. Found out I had Addisons disease they saved my life. A lot of hospitals would have just sent me home. Not only that everyone that worked there that I came in contact with was awesome. Super nice and helpful. read more

I went to SSM ER in Shawnee today and after check in and vitals I am waited to be assigned a room and to be seen by a provider, and 1 hour and 45 minutes later I am still waiting. Everyone who was there before me was seen and everyone that came in after me was seen . I am well aware of triage protocols and understand them completely. The screening after awhile seemed to be based more on skin color than an individual's symptons. I wouldn't recommend going there on for medical issue. read more

I made an appointment online where I stated what was wrong. I received a call thirty minutes later stating the Dr (she) wanted to know exactly what I expected her to do.... Um figure out why I do not feel well. Very rude. They cancelled my appointment. I was diagnosed with strep last Wednesday. I am having difficulty breathing and wanted to check my oxygen and lungs. I should be feeling better by now. I did not think it wrong to get checked. Never ever have I made to feel that way. This was the express clinic on Harrison. I knew better because I have not gotten the best treatment the last couple of times. I will not be back. read more

Just visited er with my boyfriend who had a car fall on his arm with a huge laceration. Most staff were very caring except for attending physician Dr Russell was very rude uncaring unprofessional didn't wait for numbing medications to take effect before starting suturing and threatened to and I quote " sir you jerking your leg is very unacceptable and I will put you out the door "! I am stunned that someone that uncaring and burned out is allowed to care for anyone's loved ones. ! read more

I am in the hospital and my husband needs a procedure. The quality of care with the staff here is amazing. Bre especially. She helped me to find the cafeteria, she checks in on both my husband and myself. Bre also has kept us updated on why things are running behind and very nice about everything. The absolute worst hospital EVER!! Do NOT go here! First of all, my husband was admitted for acute kidney failure. We found out he had a tumor blocking his kidney, so he had surgery the next day. What we were not told is that he has cancer! We had to read it on the discharge papers!! Not one single person on staff let him know . There were no post-op instructions, no oncology referrals, and the nurses treated him so badly. On the day of discharge, I was on the phone with him and heard the nurse yelling at him because someone had accidentally ordered a lunch for him. Even though he told the nurse he didn't order it, she yelledat him, saying, "Yes you did!! Your name is on the paper!!" When the nurse realized he was talking to me, she said, " let me talk to her!" She asked me, " how soon can you get here to pick him up!?!". They sent him home without removing his catheter. The nurse told him it was because they didn't have a urologist on staff. When I got there, I asked her why he had a catheter, and she said there may be something blocking his bladder. They supposedly made an appointment with a urologist, and wrote the time and day on his discharge papers. I called the number, and there wasn't any appointment for him!! I wish I could give them a zero for this review!!! read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. As a medical professional myself, I was appalled at the rude, inconsiderate, horrible bed-side manner of all staff members I had contact with. I had a medical emergency at work where they had to call the ambulance. The paramedics were great, but it was a different story at the hospital. The nurse never introduced herself or explained anything that she did. The doctor walked in with an attitude, barely listened to my heart maybe 10 seconds. I gave the Dr. Henderson information of the situation and he called me a liar, then he walked out. He came back said labs look good, let's get you home. I literally couldn't move my arms/legs, my skin was mottled and cap refill was delayed... and he wanted to send me home. I told him I still couldn't feel anything and that my back was starting to hurt, he rolled his eyes and as he was leaving the room, my mom told him about my cap refill delaying and my skin, he never turned around and just said as he was walking out is " well the labs look fine." The nurse never came back in to check on me. Someone from imaging came in to take me for a CT, she was upset because I couldn't get on the CT table by myself, she grunted ugh at me when I told her I couldn't. Trust me, if I could've moved, I would've just left on my own to go somewhere else. The ct tech was fussing about my top because of the rivets in it saying it was going to cause artifact. She said this shirt needs to come off. I told her if they could raise my arms up, they could take it off. She rolled her eyes and refused. Instead she grabbed either side of my collar and jerked my top up as far as she could, choking me at the moment of doing so. After I returned to the room, we waited for the Dr. Henderson to come back and he said everything looked fine and you're going home. He refused to do anything else. Mind you... the EKG that had been performed, it was still laying on the counter in the room. I was never asked what medications I take, what my allergies were, or anything else. We had to ask for a wheelchair to leave that horrible place. I physically couldn't move still and my husband had to pick me up and put me in our vehicle, where he then took me to a much better hospital where I was treated great. The great hospital that I went to performed multiple tests on me and found some cardiac issues going on with me, and they explained what my CT from SSM Shawnee said. I had some abnormalities on it, but, according to Dr. Henderson, it was fine. I will NEVER go back to that ER for anything, I'd rather die on the way to a better place than end up at that facility. I think they need to clean house or at least do some major training. I understand that times get stressful and tiresome working ER, but that's no excuse for straight up being a bunch of lazy, rude assholes. I read the after visit summary, I was appalled because the summary was total bullshit. This ER disgusts me, I really, truly hope that I never have to send another patient to the ER, because I will direct EMSA to send them to the city. They should be ashamed of their staff. read more

This hospital will beat around the bush about medical problems, and they will not help you. I had an allergic reaction, about 8 yrs ago, and instead of helping me, they made the problem worse. They refused to admit me until I was almost dead, then they figured it would be their problem. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. I had to go to Deaconess and ended up with two out patient surgeries. My out of pocket was less than $600 for both. Fast forward 2 months and needed an outpatient surgery at St Anthony's and my out of pocket was over $1000. They wouldn't give me a break for payment in full because that was MY share. The care between the two facilities were day and night. Do not go to that hospital. They are higher in cost and much , much less quality of care than nicer facility's in the city. read more

Went to the ER with what Seemed to be a reaction to a drug given me. All the symptoms were there. By the time I got there, and would not have gone but considered my condition critical, they wouldn't listen to me about the drug reaction. Saw a doctor one time. Left along with my friend for hours. I'd been diagnosed with cystitis with bleeding. According to them I didn't have it. I had one other MAJOR problem with the ER, next time I will drive myself to OKC, anywhere. Compassion is not a quality they seek in employees/drs.at this place. I think the whole place is money based. They were supposed to give me some scrubs to wear out. Never got them. I checked myself out, took out the needles and left in the hospital gown. WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! If possible, wouldn't have even given them the one star. read more

Sorriest ER ever! My sister got there at 2:45 with possible head injury and broken foot. As of 7 pm she is still there! Hadn't even been seen by 5pm. She said there were people that got there at noon and as of 5 pm they had not been seen either. No excuse. She was told they had all new doctors, what's does that matter. I am able to speak to her. Amazing. ST ANTHONY, SHAWNEE, OK.     I called to speak to the Hospital Administrator. They would not let me speak to her or leave a message to return my call. This person acted evasive, hedging questions. So I just told her my situation. She did not listen but called my Dr & gave him a lecture that had nothing to do with him. It was all so weird. Husband in a car accident. Spent hours waiting, the doctor was in there for MAYBE 2 minutes. He had a head injury with contusions, plus embedded glass throughout those and other contusions. Trouble breathing (ends up the next night at a different ER, they confirmed severely bruised and possibly cracked ribs) They never touched or cleaned him up. My daughter removed the sheet and shook the glass into the trash while he went to the restroom. They did run a CT and after waiting on those results, never saw a doctor but a nurse comes in and says here are your discharge papers. We asked about the CT and he said well the discharge says motor vehicle accident and head injury. You'll be sore and here is a scrip for pain pills and sent him on his way. We picked glass and shards of bricks for 30 minutes after we got home and cleaned him up ourselves. POOR POOR service. read more

My husband fell ER Dr said no ribs broken no lung damage. Hospital called next morning before 8:00 said bring him back Broken rib Deflated lung. 5 days in hospital. Injury to optical nerve. Er Lasted about 6 hours. then about 6 more next day to get room. read more

If I could give this place half a star I would. The cost for a trip to the emergency room for back and flank pain that lasted an hour and a half is outrageous. $2000!?!? And that's just the hospital bill. Another $1K went to the doctor that clearly didn't care to be their. My two trips to the ER at Mercy Hospital in OKC were 2/3 the cost. I confronted a costumer service rep about it and she was embarrassed to have to defend that poor excuse for a hospital. Avoid this place if can. read more

Several people i know has left of this hospital ER with misdiagnosis and has died.. a heart attack was anxiety and a friend of mine was discharge yesterday with supposedly nothing wrong. She didn't feel right so she went to OU to find out she needed emergency surgery to remove infection from her brain. She is now fighting in a induced coma on the ventilator. i suffer from fibermialga and neropathy and copd!!! i paid cash for doctors visit...and the doctor that saw me, asked me to undress to panties and bra and wonted me to get blood work and urin and told me that he wasnt gonna write me nothing!!! no inhaler nothing to help with neropathy or fibermialga!!! so what would be the use of me paying for all these test for? thought doctors are suppose to help heal the sick?? i wont be back!!! read more

The only reason I'm giving it 1 star is because of the nice lady in billing who actually helped me. The lady at the registration desk named SHARON, was INSANELY RUDE AND COMPLETELY UNHELPFUL. I work in medical billing and I know that insurance can be looked up using an ID number and/or a social security number. SHARON told me the only way I could be seen today is if I paid cash for the visit, or supplied her with my insurance card. This is complete and total crap. the OB-GYN staff is by far the best staff ever. Nurses, Doctors, support personnel, housekeeping, EVERYBODY, is well trained, courteous, helpful. Our daughter and new grandson were cared for by well-qualified staff. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. read more
