I worked at this hospital in the Radiology Dept as an x-ray tech. It is the most unprofessional, poorly managed hospital. I witnessed an elderly doctor literally slit the throat of a patient while trying to put a catheter in his chest, the male techs would drink liquor during work hours with the Radiology physician, a urologist came into the work room & grabbed my breasts. I quit exactly 1 year & because I left an hour before my shift was over the Personnel Dir said I couldn't get my vacation pay. Unethical, unprofessional, rude, crude & socially unacceptable personnel in ALL areas of this hospital. There's plenty of crude words that would better describe the culture there but I won't stoop to their level of everyday vocabulary. Don't work there or seek services there! My daughter was sent to Mercy Hospital in Ada for a stillbirth baby. Karen was her daytime nurse and Lilly was her overnight nurse. Lilly was also assisted by Robin and Peyton. I cannot say enough about this team. To have to experience a situation like this is horrific in its own but to have such a caring, empathetic and knowledgeable team there ready and willing at all times really helped us get through this and that was just tremendous. It didn't matter how many times Lilly or Karen were called to the room or the time of night or day both of these ladies were ready and there with a sing song in their voice each and every time!!! after a tornado hit my fathers Dr's office it was going to be closed for a few days due to no power, we decided not to wait for it to reopen and went to the ER at Mercy. what a mistake!!! OMG what a mistake!! they immediately took a few vile of blood then around 8:30 pm performed a CT scan said results would be back in a hour and a half. waited all night, all morning and finally at the 22 hour mark walked out of the place at 1:30 pm. Still with no more information than we walked in with, nurse literally walking around with a soda cup in hand, 5-6 staff members talking at a time at the nurses station (this was constantly), off duty nurses in shorts also behind the counter talking, another leaning against the wall on their cell phone all while empty IV alarms ringing, I'm at a loss for words on how unprofessional 90% of the staff conducted themselves. This is the third time I have come to the hospital and every single time has been a nightmare. This last time was by far the worst the daytime nurses and doctors were absolutely horrible . Rude, incompetent, impatient, and condescending. I am here as a care provider with two clients ​l ​had to walk with my sick client who is disabled and immobile all the way around to the front of the hospital to find a handicap accessible bathroom only to find out that the toilets were too low for my client to even transfer because my client would not be able to stand back up so I was unable to toilet my client the entire time in the waiting room! 2 hours! And without getting into private information in this situation that was unacceptable and not accommodating to a disabled person. read more

I called the scheduler for the MRI and mostly she could not answer a simple question. Name date if birth and no no order yet because the schedules cannot get off their ass and do their job. The question was once you get the order how backed up is the schedule. 7 days after they recieve the order we can schedule you. I call bull shit on her excuse ok f we have a contract with your insurance. If I had waited on the fabulous care I got last time I would be in a wheel chair. Same shitty service just a different Karen to give me a bs answer. Done with mercy now or ever in the future. We didn't call it death valley for no reason. This is the absolute worst hospital you can ever have a child in.. they made my daughters birthing experience horrendous. First they sent her home in labor while bleeding. After I threw a fit they finally took her back that's after I had to drive the 40 miles to get there twice.. The Nurses were rude af and didnt help her at all. With the exception of one nurse who was actually helpful.. One of them stole stuff outta their room.. and then when she was sent home they didnt even give her the birth record with his footprints on it... The hospital was a community based unit with the Ada taxes supporting it for may years. So far bad luck for any kind of service I have seen. My grandmother fell, and broke her knee. They tried to pull her up in the ER bed and broke her upper arm. Not until my mother raised hell did they even think anything was wrong with the arm. My wife had back surgery to straighten her back. She needed the therapy they offer, but was denied. I called Danny Coats directly and he said she did not meet the criteria. She spent the next 6 weeks in an OKC rehab hospital and we all had to travel each day to help her. My mother just went there this morning and has a pinched nerve in her neck, waiting to go to some real docs in OKC. They gave her a Tylenol, standard for the ER to do. Nothing special, just charge them and send them on their way. Her time was 0730-1145. Your wait you figure is because they are so busy, but mostly they are tripping over each other in their lounge area. When I asked about it, they need to save the rooms and staff for a real emergency like a bus wreck. I have a card in my wallet to never take me there even if dead. I have more stories but the best one was the pink eye. So be careful of what you say to the ladies at the reception( where you sign in at) station. They are rude, and whisper things to the other receptionist about you, but she wasnt so good at it as the person (my fiance) she was helping heard her and he called her out and told what was actually true. Employees of Mercy hospital aren't as good as you would think they are. This shows by your first stop to sign in to have procedures done. Amazingly rude and extremely unprofessional. Had a Covid test there yesterday, and got five different answers in person and over the phone on when I'd get the results. That is, after I was able to speak to a human after being sent to voicemails over and over. Most of the responses were about a delay because their records person was on vacation and she was the only one who could give me results. Some of the ER staff weren't able to even explain how results gets to patients, or acted like they cared. When asked to contact the doctor who treated me they said that wasn't possible. And their online portal has no record of lab work even being ordered. It was a comedy of errors. read more

My mom was in Ada OK Mercy and it was not good. Couldnt get a drink of water, or a kleenex,and she coughed until she got her gown wet and they wouldnt give her a dry gown. She had to wear it until she was released. Nobody should receive care or lack of care like that. read more

My mother had lost quite a bit of blood and we took her to the ER at Mercy hospital in Ada. She developed speech problems on the way over. They gave her some saline solution and sent her home. The following morning she had the same problem but this time we called an ambulance. They sent her to the Mercy hospital in OKC after giving her some blood. They should have given her blood the previous day. If they had she wouldn't be in the state she is in now. She had a stroke from loss of blood and then another the next day before they gave her blood. Negligence at its finest. read more

I went to the ER at Valley View I have Pneumonia an a bad headache caused from the the pneumonia the incompetent PA told me he was giving me nothing for thw headache an I asked for a breathing treatment and the idiot PA told me that my o2 stat was ok an I was not getting a breathing treatment I also have COPD an any competent Doctor would give a person with penumonia a breathing treatment I told that PA he was going to give me a breathint treatment and he told me dont demand anything and I am not giving you nothing an the hell with you. I was there before with pneumonia an they did no lab work no xray ar anything an told me I had bronchitis I had to go to another hospital an I had Pneumonia. All those incompetent ER doctors don't give a damn about a person all they want to do is get a person put of the ER as quick as possible so thay can make more money they could care less if a person dies all they care about is the damn money.
