A very nice park with a well managed trail and a small waterfall to enjoy. There is also a small play area for the kids as well. We did the loop around the park, which took us about an hour. There are benches at regular intervals if you want to give your feet a rest. We saw many squirrels while on the trail and many tortoises in the creek. It's a nice place to enjoy nature and rejuvenate. There is very limited parking and I don't remember seeing any restrooms in the park. It's a dog friendly park. Dogs need to be on leash and please clean up after your pups. read more

This mini waterfall was created by settlers to this area long ago. Today, this exclusive neighborhood of homes $1 Million to $10 Million, at the end of Lookout Road, hosts the public, but parking is very limited near the falls. The sidewalks are not really wide enough for both bicycles & pedestrians, also, no restrooms. There are 2 narrow bridges for bikes & pedestrians over the creek. Turtles wait below for snacks tossed by the locals. There are many tall shades trees, but also sunny sections, so prepare for sun exposure. West Prairie Creek Drive offers easiest access to the Waterfalls. The waterfalls look best right after a rain storm. A lot of people come to take pictures when the falls are running full strength, expect crowds, and even professional photographers PARKING IS LIMITED at end of Lookout Drive. Some street parking to the north. East Prairie Creek Drive, on opposite side of the creek, does not connect to the falls, officially. PARKING: East Prairie Creek Drive has public parking spots facing the creek & Huck Finn Trail. Good place for bikers to start their ride. Butterfly Garden is on East Side also. "Huck Finn Trail" is a dirt & crushed rock trail like a Nature Walk. There are 2 sections of Huck Finn Trail East Prairie Cree Off of Collins Blvd, East Prairie Creek Way has 3 small pullout meant for visitors. West Prairie Creek off the end of Lookout has less public parking. It is a nice long stroll, with the actual falls a bit anticlimactic due to size. The falls are more like a weir dam that allows water to spill over the top. read more

A very well-paved walk that is a nice little natural escape from the city but also suburbia. I wish it was a little longer - you can pretty much complete the walk in less than half an hour, but I suppose you can just keep looping back. I enjoyed the mimosa trees the most and the cool breezes during the summer evening. Really lovely! read more

What a cute little gem in Richardson. The trail was nice and located near a beautiful neighborhood of Richardson... that is so open and peaceful. We walked the entire trail around the park and got to see the different beautiful features it had to offer, including a waterfall, ponds with fish, and a nice bridge. It is a great place to take photos... as I got see a lot of teens come to take prom photos this past weekend. I will definitely be back to visit! read more

Very beautiful, small park in the middle of the city. We were hanging out in Richardson and needed to take a walk to work off the heavy barbecue we had just consumed. This park was close by and had plenty of parking. We parked the car and did the short path around the park in a circular directional fashion. Lots of people were taking photos by the small waterfall. It was very scenic. The whole park is covered in green trees and plants. It was very well-maintained. I'm sure the city collects a lot of money in property taxes from all these huge mansions. Park is very small, but nice to spend an hour here. read more

I came by here to check on the wildflower status. The city of Richardson is fantastic at planting wildflowers in most of its parks. This one, in particular, is usually in full bloom, with fantastic flowers right now. Alas, it appears that someone has mown the open area they usually cover? Oh well, there are still many trails and creek crossings to discover here. This is typical of a creek ecosystem that runs through this area of north Texas. Most people don't even know these lovely places exist as they zoom down the highway only a mile away. this is a lovely area and I suggest if you haven't experienced the giant 2 and 3 hundred-year-old trees and nicely maintained trail here... Go!!!! read more

This was such a pleasant park... in the midst of a darling neighborhood. Wildlife (particularly birds) abound... turtles, squirrels & fish all made appearances... among paved & dirt paths. Parking near park entrances & though a shorter trail system... one could easily wander the park multi times without getting bored. read more

Since my recent move, I've been in search of a nature park as a staple for my workout routine. This one so far has not let me down!! Honestly, who knew Richardson had such an oasis. The neighborhood it is in is lovely as well. Great terrain as well as elevation changes. On weekends, you can find bikers, hikers and runners here. Doggies and families too. I've also seen some photoshoots and photographers capturing pics of the waterfall! We do not have a lot of green spaces like this in DFW so it is one that is a true find. I'd recommend checking it out on a weekday when it cools off or first thing in the AM. I did not see a ton of water fountains so if you are training for an endurance event, I highly suggest you bring hydration. It is lovely and something to do that is not eating or drinking or spending money. We already have enough of that in DFW especially in suburbia. Burn some calories and take in some nature. You will be glad you did. read more

Beautiful park, however, based on the images, I expected there would be more trails with more of a nature experience. Every trail ends back to a road and or to a random confusing route. It would be helpful to have signs to guide the walk a bit better. The park is pretty active with photo shoots for people trying to capture special moments. With this said, I recommend going earlier to avoid the crowds (we saw at least 5 photo shoots happening while out there). Overall, not worth it unless you live close. read more

Pretty flowers in April. Shady trail, and beautiful waterfall. We did it with a jogging stroller just fine. Some dirt trails so it doesn't feel like the city, but still an easy hike. Parking was kind of confusing but most people just parked on the street. I did see a small parking lot while we were walking though. Great for pictures! read more

Great place to walk and breathe in the fresh air! Also pretty good place to bike but do avoid the tree roots on the grass unless you are me who has to run over them with my bike. Just be careful! There are people on the weekend that will take photos using the park as backdrop so don't run over them! I also saw so many cute dogs being walked which is always a plus! It's a pretty nice park across from a neighborhood. Head over to Spring Creek Nature Area which is near it if you fancy some pavement! Oh and just park on the street by the park is fine! read more

Prairie Creek is a small neighborhood park, across the street from an elementary school. It does have a few short trails, some good picture taking opportunities as well as a pretty secluded little area with big stones to lounge about, climb on, jump off of as you please. There is also, of course, a creek that runs through the park. We went on a Saturday afternoon and had the whole place to ourselves. This is a good place to go if you want to stay close to home (assuming you live in the area) and still want to get outside. The website states that it's 37 acres (or something close to that) but it only took us about an hour or so to go through the entire park. It was fun and we both liked it, just wish it was bigger with more, or at least longer, trails. Overall, I'm still excited to find it because it's kind of hidden and thus, very quiet and peaceful. Might be good for an intimate little picnic and a short walk. :-) read more

Nice park. *Not a good place for photography though. New laws and regulations are enforced. *Photographers beware! Peeps in the neighborhood will video you and call the *police*, esp if u leave trash - even a tiny piece of trash or glitter. read more
