I love the time it's in the summer but about the bugs is kind of a bit annoyed about. It's not that they should remove it. I'm just saying that it's too concerned for me. Well, it is a creek trail so there has to be bugs right but anyways, they have so many trails But my grandpa and I don't take off course trails because we just don't want to. We don't have any reason for, but we just don't want to. But it's so good looking lots of different species. I've actually saw species type of bug there. It was so beautiful. I even had a butterfly land on me one time I didn't want to move or scare away because it was so pretty. read more

This is such a great nature area to walk or bike around. There are nice paved paths for walking or biking and some nature trails you can explore. We walked off the paved paths and ended up lost in the middle of the forest but it was fun being surrounded by nature. If you walk on the paved path, then it'll loop around the entire park. The nature trails had some dead ends which sucks because we were hoping it would connect back to the main path somehow. The only surprising thing is the limited parking spot available. There's only one small parking lot with 7 SPOTS available for the park, and they were all taken by others. We had to park our cars at Chick-fil-a and walked across the street just to get to the park. read more

The route is outlined well, and paved nicely. Plenty of optional trails along the way along with a great deal of shaded parts to keep cool. The optional trails that run off the paved ones don't appear to be too muddy . Plenty of benches and trash cans to dispose of any items. Very clean a ver minute litter throttle trail. The restrooms we saw appeared to be on another street at another park. Really good for an easy stroll. read more

If you want to go on an amazing run, walk in the park or stroll with kids; this is the place to go! I went for a walk with my cousin at 9am in July on a Saturday (yes it was 85F) but there are so many trees which provide great shade on the walking trails. Parking is tricky there aren't any big lots to park so I parked near the area then walked to the park. Many people park near whole foods or the stores near there because it's a large park. Overall you won't be disappointed if you come here! read more

Had to escape from being inside. Came to the perfect place here at Spring Creek Nature Trails. What fun it was, the concrete paths are so wide that we could stay away from people. My daughter and I went on a lot of off the main path to be more adventurous, it was great! There is all ages of people that were here, people walking their dogs, riding bikes (which was annoying) if you're walking/jogging on the main path. The view is great!! We did a hour adventure and clocked it almost 3 miles! This would not be good for the summer, would be too hot! Also there is paths that have no warning that if you go down them it goes to apartments, which suck because of you haven't ever been you have to come all the way back should be a sign that says to apartments (dead end). That was the downfall. But to get away and enjoy outdoors, this is a great place!! Even see all kinds of wildlife, my daughter pointed out a red tail hawk it was cool. With all the rain we could not go to more off paths because it was muddy and wet. So we want to come back and go on them! Plus just to come back to escape the world of being inside. Great place Richardson! A+! read more

This is my go to jogging spot during the summer because it's fully tree covered so there is shade for like 99% of the trail. It's mostly paved but there are a few trails in the woods. I love coming here! read more

This is a nice area in Richardson with lots of walking trails. It's right off of 75 and Renner Road. I had no idea this place was back here. We got the last parking spot (there's only 7). I assume there's more, but not sure where. Trails are all paved and fairly wide. There's good shade on many parts too. Trails often split off, and there's not always signs letting you know which way to go, so I used the GPS a few times read more

This is a great spot conveniently located in the middle of everything, but wooded enough that it doesn't take long to forget you're in a city! The river is clear and beautiful, and there's a little path that will get you down to the bank. The mix of paved and unpaved trails, marshy wooded areas and gathering areas makes this an awesome little spot to get outdoors! read more

Wife had learned of this park from a nature walk group. And I'm glad she did. Sunday and wife suggests taking the family here for a walk. Such a beautiful place to walk in nature. The path is paved for a effortless, relaxing walk. The river was a pleasant surprise. And after our walk there is a playground to take the kiddies. A small green oasis in a city, the Spring creek nature park has numerous accessible trails that are perfect for a relaxing stroll, dynamic bike ride, or family outing. Plenty of shaded areas, benches, a short unpaved nature trail, all very clean and litter-free. Trail also connects to the smaller Galatyn woodland park. Only downside is that you can still hear the nearby rumbles of the highway throughout the trails. read more

This park is a nature lover and bicyclist or walkers dream come true. Since it is located off a busy freeway in the middle of a plethora of recent office development, you could drive right by and not even know it's there. but if you look for the forest at 75 and Renner you will find it. I feel safe here. it is never crowded and incredibly well maintained. As far as bicycling goes, this gets 10 stars. Well maintained in wide sidewalks and during most parts of the day you will have the entire park to yourself. The great news about this part is that it is being almost doubled in size.... thanks to a generous donation of almost 70 acres from Margaret Hunt. cannot wait to see the improvements they make! read more

With the expansion that's being planned, this park will be great! Personally, I find this park nice to walk or bike around, and it's definitely much more woodsy than Breckenridge park. I also like that they have a good network of bike trails connecting this park to others around, including the Central Trail that runs parallel on 75, making this park easy to access to from any of the DART train stations in Richardson (especially Galatyn Park). There's some good vistas of Spring Creek, from the bridge, inside the park, and also from the side of the park, along Routh Creek Parkway. And the vista of the creek is nice also, when you go under the Plano Rd bridge toward Foxboro Park. But on Sundays, like many of the parks I've seen, it has leftover trash (plastic). Apparently I need to figure out the schedule of park cleanups, since this isn't an isolated incident in Richardson. I saw this same problem at Breckenridge Park. Another problem I saw is that Spring Creek is lifeless, with no fish or wildlife running with its streams - which is the same problem that Rowlett Creek has in Breckenridge. The City of Richardson needs to look into this to see what's going on with the wildlife conservancy around the area. While there's more to do in Breckenridge Park for the people, this park is better for the naturists. So, for a relaxing moment, to be one-with-nature, I prefer Spring Creek. But for events, get-togethers, or for simple enjoyment of space and such, I prefer Breckenridge. But overall, Richardson has some good parks with good bike trails. I'm beginning to understand why this city has won an award when it comes to bike-friendliness. read more

I love this little hidden trail - you'd never guess it's sandwiched between a busy freeway and surrounding office developments. The Corporate Challenge 5k introduced me to the space. I've found it's a perfect place to have a bit of mini-escape from crazy busy of the workday. read more

This place gets 5 stars because of the wide, paved trails. Yes, I know hiking is about stepping on the dirt and crunching dead leaves with your shoes. I came here for the trails to practice my bike riding skills. Yup, I know it's pretty lame that I need pavement to ride a bike. Anyways, the trails are pretty nice and quiet despite even on weekends. There's the occasional pile of dog poo in the middle of the trail so be careful. I was pushing my pike on a hill and I rolled over poo. I think it's pretty good being in the middle of Richardson. Apparently, they are in the process of expanding the park from the signs so yay! I'd come here to practice to mediocre biking skills. read more

This is a great area for running, walking or biking right in the urban heart of Richardson TX. Part of the trail follows Spring Creek which takes a curving cut through the park. There is an old cemetery off of a dirt road near the intersection of Routh Creek Pkwy and N Glenville - only accessible from the dirt road in the park. The cemetery is fenced off, but you can find out some background if you google Routh Cemetery. When you're on the paved trails, remember the signs so you don't get into an endless loop in the middle of the park! read more

Went here recently and it's has a lovely paved path .... VERY nice however wish it was more accessible. If others can suggest additional parking options, please post! From my experience, parking was a challenge. I see by an earlier poster there may be a place to park off Renner Rd @ Plano Rd and hope to find this ... (TBD). When I was here, parked in a TINY lot .... ~ 6 spaces just after exiting Central Expy & turning east on Renner .... be aware there's construction and after walking and returning to my car, was told by one of the construction workers that I should not have parked here ... (as I write this, there is NO signage to that effect). ANYHOW, back to the nature area. It's nicely forested. I stayed on paved paths, so can't speak to any of the natural trails. Only gave 4 stars due to parking problem .... as nice as it is, I'd suggest others consider the Arbor Nature Preserve in Plano. read more

Really nice trail in the middle of the city, but I wouldn't really consider it hiking, more like a paved trail through the middle of a wooded area. I like taking my dogs here on walks, especially during the summertime, because all of the trees provide great shade. This Spring Creek trail connects with the Renner trail and the Central trail, but I've never gone on those. I think they are also working on expanding the trails even more, in order to connect with the new CityLine development. The trail itself is pretty easy to follow, I've never gotten lost, and there is also a map of the trail online too, if you want to check it out. They also have 911 markers along the trail so if you ever need help it's easy to identify where you are. Parking isn't good, there isn't really any defined parking. They have some parking at the trail heads, but it's been kind of a mess with all the construction going on in the area. I normally park at Foxboro park and then follow the trail underneath Plano Rd, however the park can get busy, especially during the weekend, so sometimes I cannot even find parking there. The Foxboro park has a bathroom and water fountains so use those if you need since there is nothing like that on the actual trail. Also this is definitely not a place to go in the evening when it's starting to get dark, because it's a completely wooded area without any sort of lights. read more

i know, we have parks here in richardson, plano and dallas that are way bigger and better and some more action to do, but we love that one so much, its like diving into an other world and kind of a "huckleberry finn" feeling when you stand there on the small "beach" barfoot in the sand and throw some sticks for your furry friend.... it has a nice access to the stream on the westside from the park on plano rd ... its pretty nice for jogging, biking orjust sitting there on one of the picnik tables or benches and hanging out for a few ..... my dog loves it, she knows every single small path way to the water and get super excided when she get her swimtime and following dust bath under the brigde :) if you see a beagle in the park and hear someone yelling :) jap, thats me :) read more

Still LOVE this park; however, I recently found I will only be able to enjoy it during the fall and winter months. Spring and summer fills the trails with thick, dense foliage that attracts mosquitoes and creates unbearable humidity that aggravates my asthma. Really too bad........ I love this area, but will just have to wait it out before I can return :( read more

Love to walk here. The winding trails make a great way to relax during the day! Parking is a challenge, but I found a park on the east side of Plano Road that has parking and connects to the main trail. Best 'secret' is that you can take the trail to the west of 75, turn north and go on quite a long walk along Renner. read more

Love the park, It's really beautiful and well maintained. But, only room for 10 cars at the trail head on Renner & 75?! Can we park on Routh Creek Pkwy? I tried PDF Solutions lot and there was a big sign that warned of towing, Maybe I will try the Samsung lot next time, or Foxboro park. read more

My wife and I live pretty darn close to this park and decided to walk over to it and check it out a couple of days ago. It is a really nice nature walk/ride if you want to get away for a little bit. I brought my dog and let him off his leash and he really enjoyed walking the trail with us a little more 'freed' than he usually is on our walks. There is a stream/river thing that is kind of cool, but it is quite dirty. There are plenty of benches, and if you can find them, there are also picnic tables and stuff. I think this would be a fun place to bring the family and just hang out some day. Check it out! read more
