My group (we stayed for Independence Day) and I LOVED seeing the carriage museum but wish the correct placards had been by each vehicle. The river was low this year due to our drought so one member of our group described the tubing as a "refreshing workout" We still had fun and it was refreshing! Overall it was pretty and peaceful enough that my sister and I stayed there again last weekend! A major bonus was that they were open past October 1st while most other campgrounds in the state were already closed, despite the beautiful, warm weather! Definitely recommend

The pizza and burgers are beautiful too look at and blissful to devour! The Craft Corral is something that I've never seen when camping before and there are so many fun and original things to do-my kids and grandkids are all about the glitter tattoos. He shared all sorts of great information and even let my niece drive the boat for a few minutes. She LOVED that so much. Great value for your dollar as well. You could tell Alex was very knowledgeable and customer service oriented. After talking to Alex, and watching his YouTube videos, we booked a half day on the water in the middle of May. Quick breakdown: Alex communicated great leading up to the day of the trip and told us exactly where to go on the day of the trip. We arrived a few minutes early and Alex was waiting the dock for us. After a quick safety briefing. We pushed out and had a great fishing day. We caught largemouth and smallmouth and even a bonus fish (pike). We fished a variety of baits but we caught them on crank baits, chatter baits, and senkos. The fish were mostly post spawn and were kinda in that funk between spawning and guarding fry. Alex never stopped working to get us on fish, he moved spots frequently with the changing conditions. Alex's boat fishes very well and he has all the modern tools to help get on fish. He has quality equipment and it was all ready for our success. Alex prices were fair considering the cost of fuel, equipment and his time. Alex does not provide lunch or snacks but that is ok because he tells you up front and that allows you to bring whatever you like. All said, Alex is great and we look forward to booking another trip with him. 5/5

We drove down from Tomahawk and were able to land 10 fish highlighted by a 20-12 lb and 13-3 lb Flathead and a monster 14-14 lb Channel. It was a trip none of us will ever forget. The Joseph Fugina House has a main floor that you can rent, complete with two bedrooms, a living room, dining room and kitchen. Upstairs, there are three separate rooms that can be rented. They each have their own bathroom, with a shared kitchen upstairs and a shared living room downstairs. I would highly recommend looking that their website, as the photos really show how beautiful this space is. They also rent out the Prairie School House just down the street. That's a full house (no separate rooms for rent). The renovators and designers did an incredible job. Walking into the Joseph Fugina House is like stepping into a Pottery Barn or Pier 1 photo shoot. Great attention has been paid to details. Our room in the Joseph Fugina House had wonderful windows that let in a lot of light and overlooked the Mississippi River. There was also a small patio with two chairs where you could sit outside and enjoy the view. Each room has a Keurig coffee maker. The proprietors even restocked us with some Chai tea and decaff which my wife asked for! We loved our stay and would absolutely, without question, stay here again. The location is great. You can walk to town to enjoy the shops and restaurants. Guests can enjoy a 10 percent discount at The Golden Frog, a bar and grill located in downtown Fountain City. The only minor negatives would be: trains are passing by across the street about every 15 minutes, so if you're a light sleeper or can't stand that noise, you may want to go elsewhere. Also, the water was slow to get warm in the bathroom, and when it did, it didn't get real warm. We appreciated having access to a full kitchen - the ceramic dishes, real silverware, a fridge, etc. Again, the decorating was amazing. I hesitate to speak too glowingly about the place for fear that the next time we want to return, it will be booked.
