Fairways were very lush, and greens and tee boxes were perfect. I also appreciated that the ball washers were plentiful and had good water in them (I'm always amazed when courses have useless/dry ball washers). If I had to be picky, the only small annoyance is the golf cart screen that likes to show a LOT of reminders and directions. I felt like I was constantly clicking through the same reminders between every shot to get to the hole maps and yardages. Other than that, I really enjoyed the course today.

However the day of the event was such a disappointment. The steaks were super inconsistent-- some of us had rare, some of us had medium rare, and I had a well done piece. What seemed strange about my steak is that it tasted...like organ meat?! I thought I was going crazy. My family tried it and they agreed something was extremely off about the taste. My cousin was struggling to cut his chicken florentine because it was so dry. The biggest offender was the salmon and rice... everyone who ordered this option received UNDERCOOKED RICE! Rice is one of the hardest things to mess up, especially if you use a rice cooker... The bread and butter that was served was dry and unmemorable. It's sad when the appetizers outshine the main dishes. The fruit plate upon seating was well presented. The Beef Wellington (A+ chef's kiss) and coconut shrimp were the saving grace of the event. The pork potstickers were just okay. We had paid drinks as an option, but I don't drink so I asked for a club soda. It came in a plastic bottle and it tasted like plastic. Outside of food, the ballroom provided us a projector. The AV team didn't seem super knowledgeable as it took 30 minutes to get the video AND audio up and going. Overall it wasn't the best in terms of food and the projector, but the room itself was great and the appetizers provided something to remember. Nonetheless, I'm grateful we had a place to create memories for my grandfather's 100th. Highly would not recommend this place for a wedding though unless you're looking to be disappointed.

Upon checking in and paying the $72 green fare, I had wonders about if the course lived up to the price. It kind of does but barely. The course is maintained pretty well although there's a few holes with a bit of wear and tear in the tee boxes and the green as a result of either poor shoes or mishandled clubs. Fairways are in excellent shape with the grass freshly cut. Some of the holes are a blast to play such as the 8th hole and hole 14 from what I can remember. Also the cart girl came by regularly to serve us beverages and keep us hydrated. Also, credit to the staff here for their customer service. One of the members took me in their cart to the end of the first hole where my teeing party was. This was due to me arriving about 15 minutes after the teetime due to getting stuck in traffic. While embarrassed, I appreciate their attitudes and getting me to my party quickly so I could play. While 72$ is steep for a Saturday, I would play here again next time I'm in the DFW area.

Antique and vintage golf memorabilia line the walls and the owner, Cullen Davis, greets you with a smile from his office table. The shop has a wide array of used clubs for sale that are in great condition but the real draw of this shop are the putters that Cullen has hand crafted. I purchased a vintage golf bag, a couple of clubs and even had him do some custom stamping on my set of SM8's. I wish there were more shops like Custom Craft Golf.
