Food is ok but the prices are sky high. You can almost get a steak dinner somewhere for the price of their plates.

SERVICE: We were greeted right as we entered by Bev who made us feel like we'd known each other our whole lives. She walked us through the menu, gave us suggestions, brought us ice cold beers within 90 seconds of ordering & was just an absolute gem of a hospitality professional. She had great table side banter & once we hit the food coma she got us our check quickly so we could go back to the park & pass out. THE FOOD: We ordered way too much & Bev warned us but we ate Wally B's leftovers cold for 2 days & if that doesn't tell you everything you need to know...everything from the alligator to the St Louis style ribs were DELICIOUS. The ambiance was better before the renovation & I heard that Bev passed away. We'll be back but "Wally B's" before the facelift will always be our favorite culinary memory of Missouri.

We have had him in the past many times since we are pretty frequent visitors. Not sure what was going on with him but his service wasn't good at all! Never asked one time if we needed another drink or anything. We asked other waitresses for a box and to pay out. Basically, I think he was more interested in visiting and talking than his job. Food was good as always! With spending over a $100 for two his tip wasn't the best!

I had a 12 ounce ribeye, asparagus, sweet potato fries and a salad with blue cheese. The steak was cooked medium instead of medium rare as requested. I think some of that was due to the fact that it was very thin? Flavor was good. The rest of my food was tasty and the fries were really good. No Brien sugar etc.. just sweet potato flavor. I had a really good manhattan that I liked although it was $13. Overall out meals and one drink each for two came to $133 with tip., a bit more than expected but it is a nice casual place I would visit again.

The Blue Oak oyster Bar and Grill is a small, somewhat upscale, eatery in downtown Martin serving a variety of steaks, salads, and seafood entrees. There is a full bar serving all the standards, as well as a few specialty cocktails. Decor is tasteful and understated and service is friendly and efficient. We started with Caesar salads, which were good, as were the sirloin and chicken entrees that followed. Asparagus sides were tasty, but a little tough. We enjoyed an Old Fashioned and a vodka tonic with our meals. All in all, a good experience.
