I am not as brave as my son, and am quite a baby when it comes to the dentist. For the x-rays that the tech started with, they had the news on the TV that is in the room. A very nice touch, and great for someone to focus on when they have a bad gag reflex (ugh). Then I got to see Dr. Rathi. She's so sweet and also very informative. I had a lot of tartar, so she had to numb me and do a deep cleaning, root cleaning, and scaling. I don't know what much of that means, but it meant I had to get numbed. Anyways. I hardly even felt the numbing needles, and even during the cleaning she asked me several times if I was ok, or if I felt any pain. NONE. It was great. Even if I was shaking, because I'm a huge baby. Her entire staff is amazing, and I am making my husband switch over to their office. They are very high tech, and I feel Dr. Rathi is on her game with the latest techniques and technology. Varghesse put my brackets on in a way that they were continually breaking off. He told me that I clench to much, and he would not really be able to help me. He said I would probably need surgery which would cost 10's of thousands of dollars. I went to Kay for a second opinion. He said he could fix it. he took off all the brackets, and placed them in a way my teeth were not hitting - I never broke a bracket again. I finished my treatment early with Dr. Kay, and never had to have surgery; success! Oh, Dr. Kay charges like half of what Varghese was charging. I felt ripped off by Dr. Varghese. My feeling is that he is charging a lot of money for a fancy office, but is in the business of fixing "easy" cases at volume. If you think your case is a little more difficult, or if you want to save some money... or if you just want a really honest and competent guy - go with Dr. Kay.

Soon, we will have our other daughter start her treatment here. The point is, only a genuinely caring practise would get such loyal patients. Dr. Prose got my braces on and off in less than 2 years without pulling any teeth. That was 6 years ago. Last night my permanent retainer chipped ( the glue that holds it to my teeth) I called Dr. Prose's office this morning and was immediately scheduled for a same-day appointment. They are always friendly and very careful when they work, the office is very clean, and their work is awesome. Very highly recommended.
