I went to PrairieCare a few years ago. I wasn't kept there overnight, just for faux-schooling. They could not care less about the patients. I was ignored despite my risk, I had items that grounded me taken away, the schooling was horrible (they don't teach you anything, they just have you use IXL and you get to pick whatever you want), they DO NOT HELP. I had sexual comments made about my body by other patients there on DAY ONE and nobody said a word. I had zero attention paid to me, nobody pushed me to get better in the slightest, instead I was labeled as "flat emotionally" and treated like I wasn't even there. Waste of time and they like you to come in so they can take your money. When I called in the beginning, I was told there were therapist available and to take an intake first. I went for the intake and then I was told there were no therapist available and they could not help. What was the point of making me take an intake if there are no therapist available? I went to PC several years ago and I truly believe they did more damage than healing. I participated in a group therapy and then decided to follow up with a certain counselor for one on one therapy after group had run its course. Talk about cherry picking their patients!! She decided once I made one poor choice too many that she wouldn't see me anymore!!! I'm sorry but aren't you supposed to help me and not turn your back on me?! I clearly needed help and you left me high and dry!! Which only fed into aspects of the issues I already had. I felt at the time that it was mean and cruel and she used what she knew about me to harm me!! Pathetic, egotistical, narcissistic therapists and doctors!! Here I am now over 6 years clean and sober and rid of PC, long in my dust! And I would never ever speak of referring my worst enemy to them!! Horrible horrible people!! If you are a healthcare worker and have ANY chance of having any addictive substances- PRESCRIBED Adderall, benzodiazepines, narcotics, etc., OR legal substances like marijuana... be prepared to be turned in to SPHP program- you will be taken off of work, investigated, treated as a druggie, and they will require you to be monitored for an undisclosed amount of time, most likely drug tested randomly multiple times a month or even in a week, and you still may not get your job back. you will be turned in to whatever board (board of pharmacy, nursing, etc) if you do not participate. this can last up to SIX years. went there for depression, suicidal ideations and left with those severely worsened and now have this stress to deal with. They do NOT care if they put you in a position that you try to kill yourself, give up on life. They want money and to put you in a higher level of inpatient care to make some cash. DO NOT DO THIS PROGRAM!! you will 100% regret it. read more

So I've been having marital issues and wanted to discuss how to better communicate with my spouse. I was delighted that Prairie Care could get me in in just a few days. I took off 2 hours of work, to be able to drive there, fill out all their paperwork and then pour out my heart to the intake person, who was then going to fill in the doctor, and then see the course of treatment that they would recommend. The intake person came back to me in about 10 min and said, I'm sorry, we only have the one doctor, and they aren't taking any more new clients. The gave me the name of 3 other agencies. ??? You couldn't have told me that when I called to make an appointment? You wasted 2 hours getting me to open up about the problems I am having just to say, no, sorry. I think the doctor may be cherry picking the clients they want to see. I will be contacting the Attorney General's office, will try to make sure they don't waste anyone else's time. Very deceptive practice! Do yourself a favor, don't bother with this place. Go anywhere else. read more
