I wish I read the reviews here prior to booking an appointment because the same issues happened to me today. The only reason there are 2 stars are for the groomer that was so sweet. When I called for an appointment I requested Buddy be seen right away as he has never been to a groomer and he's blind. My appointment was for 10:30 He was the only dog in there besides 2 small dogs getting their nails done. The "Managing Partner", Carlos said Buddy would be done in 1 hour and 45 minutes.I drove by 1/2 hour later and he was still in the window had not been taken back. So, is this how it works if someone walks in you take them first? Do they just over schedule? I returned in 1 hour and 45 minutes and was told he was just being bathed and would be another hour. Then good ol' Carlos said, " that's why I tell people we will text you when the dog is ready". Does he feel that works? He never said that to me! All he did was try and upsell me on some Mud packet about 3 times in 7 minutes then insisted I take the brochure with me to learn about it! WHAT! How about you learn how to manage your shop. Carlos said to me next time let us know that Buddy is urgent. So, I tried to explain to "Managing Partner", Carlos that I had asked when I set up the appointment that I did not want Buddy sitting as he would be scared, and Carlos says, "Oh, you talked to me". What a bully! He was trying to start a fight so I knew it was a losing battle...... Best wishes it you go in it is CHAOS when it really does not need to be. read more

Horrible. Just horrible. It used to be great before they moved next to frys location. First they told me that it will take 1.5 hrs. Ok so i came back and my dog's grooming wasn't even started. So it took another two hours. They had my pup for three and a half hours and barely no grooming? Only bathed him and just trimming on the face. Well that will be my last visit for sure. read more

This place used to be great but has recently gotten new employees who are terrible. They harass you to pick your dog immediately as soon as they're ready. Yet last time my dog was there for 5.5 hours! So you need to be ready to jump at their beck and call between 45 min- 6 hours. Really hard to plan your day. They charge you before you even see your dog and her cut was horrible.. I had to fix her ears and beard myself. Customer service is horrible. Do not recommend. read more

I have been taking my dogs here for just about a year and I have always been very pleased with the way they love on the dogs, treat them with sweetness, and most importantly, how the dogs look when I get them home. They look great. The Spaw is very timely also. I was taking my dogs somewhere else and I always planned four hours to get a cut there. Prancin Paws is usually finished in an hour or so. read more

I have been taking my dog there for about 4 years. No more. The last grooming left him looking "hacked up"- I felt horrible for him! I was on time, groomer arrived 15 minutes later. Was told by the new desk guy my dog was marked " aggressive towards other dogs "- I was NEVER told of any issues. All the groomers that used to be there are gone. When I questioned why my dog was "shaved"- the reply was it was a "groomer in training ". WHAT?! Never, never would I have left him- actually, I didn't, I sat in my car and waited for him. His normal grooming time of just over an hour, took over two hours. Also, I too had been charged for a "no show". They will text you to "confirm " your appointment, and if you don't- the owner charges you for a no show! Hello! I'm not confirming, I have a family emergency, why are you billing my credit card, which I have NEVER given you authorization to keep on file? I am so upset! BUT, the brighter side to the story is I have discovered where this businesses groomers have went to AND I'M GOING THERE! Side note, this place used to be super busy, the two hours I was waiting for my dog, beside him, they only had one other dog. So sad to see a business with potential be ruined by mismanagement. read more

They were good at first but now I would recommend petsmart over them. They change their prices all the time when you go to pick up your furbaby. They made a pre authorized charge on my card BEFORE the appointment and I called them which they said they'll remove it but they won't now. I was told it would be about $80 for my dog to be fully groomed. They pre charged me $100+ before the appointment I NEVER AUTHORIZED THE CHARGE. And I go to pick him up and they say "you don't have to pay anything since the pre authorized charged took care of it" They said they would remove that charge but they didn't and sent me out the door. I won't be back at all. They'll steal your money for whatever it's worth. read more

I miss the staff that used to be at Prancin Pet. After going to 2 different groomers I decided to go back to Prancin Pet. That was a huge mistake. One of my girls was hurt. Two nails to the quick & bleeding along with a skin tag on her chest. The only way I knew they hurt her was the blood on my couch. They never told me about hurting my dog when I picked her up. Her coat is so uneven that I called to have her fixed only to arrive and my other dog was shaking uncontrollably. She's NEVER done that before. I left, I didn't want that girl touching my girls. So if your okay with them hurting your dog, not telling you, doing a crappy job grooming then this is your groomer. read more

I took my goldendoodle there. She is a rescue dog with a history of trauma and abuse. This was told to the owner and the groomer at time of drop-off. However, when I went to pick her up there was a witness that reported to me that the groomer, Danela, was verbally abusive towards my dog. This witness reported my dog was yelled and told to shut up several times. I called the owner to report this behavior from his groomer, Danela. He told me he would have a conversation with the groomer about the behavior but then went on to say that he did see my dog was skiddish as a way of defending the groomers actions. Again, after I did disclose her trauma and abuse history that would cause her to be skiddish at times and they seemed okay to handle at drop off. I would never recommend this groomer to anyone as pets should be treated with respect and care. read more

Ok I have found the best groomers in Marana/Tucson. The girls here are super sweet, professional and are very caring for your pets. I took my Schnoodle to get groomed after someone mentioned them. I live in Las Cruces and got him groomed out there as well and honestly these girls crushed it. Everyone else kind of lacked somewhere. They ask all the correct questions to make sure there is an understanding of what you want. The shop is small and cute. That makes me happy because attention is on your dog. I appreciate their work and their professionalism. When I can I will bring my baby Mack back to them! Absolutely worth the money. They weren't as expensive as some other places which is great. We have been customers of Prancin' Paws Pet Spaw for the past 6 years. We never had an issue up until now. They changed management and new staff a few months ago. Despite the change we decided to keep our relationship with PPPS. Yesterday, we took our two small dogs, Lucy and Bizkit for their three month groom. Bath, haircut, nails, spa treatments. Lucy is a 7 year old 11 pound chihuahua. She was groomed by Tiffany. I picked her and Bizkit up within an hour of dropping them off. As always, I like to chat with the girls and I ask them if they behaved or if there were any issues. Both groomers told me they were perfect. Paid the bill with tip and left. I walked to my car and as I put Lucy in the car I noticed blood on her white fur. Upon further inspection I realized that Lucy had a piece of her ear missing! I went back to PPPS and told Tiffany that she had cut Lucy's ear! She just looked at me and she said "I did?" I said yes and brought back in Lucy and showed her. At this point Tiffany just said "oh I guess I did, sorry about that" she took some hydrogen peroxide and a cotton ball and tried to clean Lucy's ear. I asked her how did this happen and if she didn't think I would notice that her ear had been cut. All just kept saying was sorry. She said that they would take care of half the vet bill if we took her in and next time she would give us a discount. At this point I was so angry. And for her to just tell me that next time she would give me a discount? I brought Lucy home and her ear stopped bleeding and I cleaned it up. Thankfully she did not need stitches. My issue here is why didn't she just take accountability and tell me when I asked if everything went okay? Then on top of not being honest acting as if she didn't even notice she cut her ear? My boyfriend and I have 3 small dogs. These are our kids. We do our due diligence when it comes to them. Do our research and give them the best care. I went in before I took them for their appointments when the new staff and management took over and looked at the new space and met the staff. I entrusted them with my "kids". The moment I saw Lucy's ear my heart sank. My boyfriend and I are not the type to go on social media and post complaints or go on rants about businesses or services. Especially local businesses. When possible we go local even if it means spending a little extra. We thought maybe the owner would call or email us to apologize or even refund our money back. Not a word. My boyfriend went back today to talk to the manager. All he was met with was a nonchalant attitude and a shrug and a half hearted "we already apologized to your girlfriend yesterday" and accidents happen. Yes they do! We understand that accidents happen but at least own up to them, don't act like you didn't notice and try to somehow rectify the problem. The reason for my review/ post is now to warn people to not entrust their fur babies to Prancin' Paws Pet Spaw. And if you do go there-the groomer that took care of Bizkit, (I am sorry I didn't catch her name) did a great job with him and was very kind and warm with him- Thank you. read more

I've had my dog going there for 3 years. Was pretty satisfied. When they suddenly changed ownership it all went south. We were scheduled for an appointment, they called and canceled the appointment and all of her future appointments. I was told as soon as they hire more staff, they'd get her back in. It's been well over 3 months and still no call back. I call that client neglect and abandonment. Shame on the new owners. read more

I brought my Yorkie in as a first time client. We've only lived in Tucson for a year and I've already had one not so great grooming experience at our local vet that resulted in an expensive groom that looked horrible. Here's what I loved about Prancin' Paws: 1) they seem to have safe social distancing measures in place, 2) The groomer ask instead of questions to make sure she understood what I wanted, 3) they were flexible and allowed me to pay before hand in case someone else in the family picked our pooch up, 4) very fairly priced!!!, 5) very fast... Christina was finished in an hour and a half, 6) our dog looked great!! The only negative is when she brought him out to the car I could see a lot of loose hair flying off of his coat through the air, so I know it's probably all over my car. Glad my husband didn't go pick him up he would've been a little grouchy about that. Overall very happy with this experience and with the groomer, Christina. very upset! we have used prancing paws for a very long time but we've noticed a serious decline in customer service and overall grooming as of late! my husband brought our 10 year old pup in today for a 2p appt. By 345p we still hadn't received any updates. our pup is usually finished by that time. my husband went to groomers and asked if our dog was finished only to find out he hadn't even started, the older gentlemen behind the counter stated he was next to go, but would still need to wait another hour! our dog had been sitting in the kennel next to the window for almost 2 hours and was expected to wait for another hour! The older man was very hostile and said he notified us that they were delayed. NO ONE notified us of this as we would have brought our dog in for a later appt. my husband asked for our dog and was told we would have to pay a cancellation fee. i dont know if this man was the owner or an employee but he was so hostile and rude! we wilL NOT be bringing our dog back here! so disappointing! prancing paws used to be a top notch groomer, who cared for our pup! sadly this is no longer the case!! read more

I just picked my dog up and am in tears. I have a long haired dachshund and instead of using scissors to cut her hair like every other dog groomer would do, they just shaved her ENTIRE body. And left her paws extremely long. She has never been shaved before let alone shaved over her entire body. I was wondering why her grooming appointment took about an hour long, but it's because they spent no time cutting her hair and just shaved her because it was easy. I'm beyond frustrated. I even texted her old groomer from Virginia and she could not believe that any groomer would do that to a long haired dachshund. UPDATE: while you have responded by blaming my boyfriend who dropped the dog off, I suggest that in the future you talk through what grooming you will be doing and how you are doing it. He would have never allowed her to be shaved and most groomers don't automatically shave the dog just because it's convenient. The photo shown to you was clearly not a shaved dog. I appreciate the response, but instead of blaming the customer I would just appreciate further communication from the groomer at drop off about technique used. That would have prevented this horrible haircut from happening. read more

We've had such a hard time finding a good groomer for our Labradoodle Ellie. It seems like every time we took her to get groomed they just ended up shaving her. And, let me tell you, she looks TERRIBLE when she's shaved or cut short. Poor thing has been butchered. I decided to try out Prancin' Paws based on a few good reviews that I had read. I had initially called for pricing information, left a message and they called me back promptly. Couldn't have been friendlier. Ellie had her appointment yesterday and they really took their time to listen to our thoughts on how she should look. There were a few groomers up front working on their furry clients and they we're all friendly and engaging. We are so happy with the results. Our long-haired cat needs regular grooming to keep her fur from matting, especially forming thick mats that can only be removed by shaving.
