Brought a merino wool blazer with fringe to be dry cleaned. When I picked it up it was covered in pills, white fuzzy things, had debris and the fringe that was comprised of individual yarns had turned to dirty fuzz. The blazer had none of those issues when I brought it to them. I spoke with the plant manager who asked me to give them a chance to redo the blazer. He stated that if I did not approve of the redo he would reimburse me for a replacement, and we even discussed a specific price for a replacement I found online. I agreed and the redo did not fix it. It has a new white stain on the sleeve and even worse fuzziness and pills in the fringe. The plant manager is insisting it looks like new despite the photos I sent and states he never agreed to reimburse me for a replacement unless they ruined it. I call it ruined! Regardless, for a dry cleaning plant manager to insist that my blazer looks "like new" with the above mentioned issues including a new stain is shocking.
Update: I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and in response Pratt Abbott said they would reimburse me 20% of the replacement value plus my cleaning fee which is apparently industry standard for something more than a few years old. read more
