Instead of providing a prescription covered by my insurance, I was only given a list of medications to buy. Because I was very sick, I had to go to Walgreens and spend over $100 on medications that I could have received for free with a prescription. Later, I tested positive for COVID-19 and informed your team. The only response I received was "I'm sorry you have COVID, stay in quarantine for 5 days." At no point was I informed that COVID could lead to early labor. The day before delivery, when I entered active labor, I called again. My information was sent to Providence Everett, but I received no encouragement or support from any of the midwives. Ultimately, I had to undergo an emergency C-section because my baby's heart rate was unstable, and my newborn was transferred to Seattle Children's Hospital due to meconium aspiration. I did not hear from Sprouts until four days after my baby's birth, and the call was simply to say, "I'm sorry you went through that, let us know when you want to schedule your postpartum appointment." When I scheduled and came to my appointment, I felt dismissed and disrespected. At the front desk, I was asked "where's the baby" in an ironic tone, followed by "oh, I forgot, she's at the NICU." In my visit with Deborah, my concerns about missed communication and risks associated with my prolonged pregnancy were rejected instead of acknowledged with empathy. Despite my disappointment, I continued with follow-up appointments for postpartum care and birth control because I had no other provider at that time. However, I have consistently felt unsupported. Most recently, when I asked for an all-purpose nipple ointment (as recommended by the lactation team and nurses at Seattle Children's Hospital), I received a dismissive and questioning response instead of the prescription I needed. At this point, I believe the care I received from Sprouts Birth Center has fallen short of the support, compassion, and professionalism that should have been provided. For these reasons, I respectfully do not recommend this birth center at all.

I will always recommend out of hospital/midwife care, especially Sprout Birthing Center. Prenatal care: On point all around. All the traditional tests were offered to me to ensure there weren't any apparent complications that would make my pregnancy or birth high-risk. Birth: At the center. Arrived a little after 9pm to help move the pregnancy along (11 days overdue!). After hours birth meant my immediate family was able roam the center without interfering with day-to-day operations. My son was born at 11:01pm. Mayya and Brittni didn't rush me and didn't argue me when I said it was time to push. They let me control the birth. Their roles were simply to make sure we were healthy. After having a hospital birth with my second son, I can't rave enough about how much its truly means to drive your own birth. I was free to leave around 2 or 2:30am. 5 hours at the center and in home in bed to rest and heal! Can't complain about that! Postpartum Care: Thorough. Never once did I feel I wasn't being listened to. Billing: No issues as of yet ‍. I'll update if needed.

My planned home birth turned into transferring care to a hospital because of low amniotic fluid. Through the transition of care all the way to the birth of my son, Cindie was paramount in supporting me in a way that left me feeling grateful beyond words that I chose Midwife Seattle. I felt like I learned more from her about my current random annoying small medical problems than I have ever learned from any doctor! Mel was my midwife for my daughter's home birth almost 1.5 years ago now. Birthing wasn't as bad as people make it osund. I understand why birthing moms may want epidurals, but in labor it was clear to me that there was no way anyone was getting me in a moving vehicle of any kind. I saw her, Jen and Cindi for prenatal care. The prenatal checkups were laid back, I felt well informed. They listened to me and would do what was necessary at visits while keeping the visits informal feeling, more of a dialogue of how pregnancy was going for me. As of maybe 2 months ago Midwife Seattle has split into two practices: Cindi and Amanda, and Mel and Jen. It came down to some insurance issue having to do with hospital births. So now all of them only do home births. Cindi and Amanda are at Midwife Seattle and I cannot recall the name of Mel and Jen's new practice.

When we decided to start again, we trasnferred our records over to Poma and really appreciated the process. The online portal system worked well for us and the nurses are super quick to respond. All of the staff that we worked with, from front desk, blood draws, exams, retrieval, and transfers, were all very professional and patient with my questions. Sometimes the doctors were quick during a scan, but I always felt the nurses were available for clarification on questions. I appreciated that they are open everyday of the week, because they know that your cycle isn't going to align with a work week. Paying out of pocket seemed to be the only frustrating thing, as sometimes you get a bill for something that happened months ago. The online portal to pay is easy though, so no issues. Also, keep in mind that medications are always extra. Add about $5k to the amount they quote, but definitely use the online pharmacy and rebate programs they recommend. Ending with a pregnancy is a success in my book.

This isn't entirely their fault but I really wish it was more normalized to ask if it's ok to have a doctor of the opposite sex for your reproductive health care. Because I was uncomfortable to be thrown into a room for my consult with a male doctor. Not his fault, he was great and very professional... I just personally have a huge trauma issue with it and I would of appreciated being asked first out of curtesy because I'm sure there's millions of other woman with this request as well. Even though the male doctor I had was professional and very knowledgeable on everything... I told him twice I did not want to proceed with any treatment or testing at this time. And that my husband and I want to focus on his testing first as it was much easier and cheaper to do for now. But regardless of being asked twice in person, I was also email about it twice. Feels very pushy and weird. After my husband had his tests done it took 2.5 weeks, 4-5 phone unanswered phone calls, 2 voicemails and 1 portal message to get a response.... Absolutely not ok. And finally when they did upload his results to the portal (which is horrible to navigate btw)... it gave very vague information to where they told him he had to come in and make another appointment just for them to explain that he was fine.... Overall: - The client portal is so hard to use and not helpful at all. - the environment for me felt pushy and disrespectful - the communication between staff and client is HORRIBLE - completely disorganized staff This is a very vulnerable field of medicine. And as the client you HAVE to feel safe and comfortable with all the things that go along with fertility and reproductive care.... At the end of the day I did not feel that even slightly. Will not ever go back to them.

All of the midwives here make sure to follow the necessary precautions and protocols while keeping your needs in mind. I was exactly at 42 weeks when I gave birth and knew baby would be fine since we were doing all the necessary tests and steps along the way. I really didn't want to be induced but decided to schedule it at 42 weeks. Thank goodness baby came very early morning before any induction Also, office staff is very helpful when it comes to insurance and scheduling.

Leah is a well of knowledge when it comes to birth and caring for babies - she comes to our home to give the private childbirth class, in this private session format it allows us to ask direct questions; my husband and my mom were both in the class with me, Leah was able to cater the content to different roles in the household with the focus on the birthing mother. Leah is always extra prepared for the classes from various engaging activities to catered content. During the preparation for birth, we constantly reached out to Leah for suggestions and ideas. For the postpartum phase, Leah came to our home to educate us in various baby caring tasks/details per our requests; we did some lactation sessions, a lot of Q&As, and gave baby the first sponge bath! Leah's patient, steady, and very encouraging throughout the process, leaving us feel empowered to care for the baby after she leaves. She's super detailed, wearing masks to the postpartum sessions as the newborn is not vaccinated yet. She's super communicative - reply to my questions over email and text as things come up. Always super encouraging and send me the right direction. We wouldn't be able to be at such a fine place this early in the newborn stage if it's not Leah. She listened to me in each meeting (except for one - she was very stressed on that one). She answered all my questions thoroughly. She is the only OB I will trust as she is conservative in terms of medication etc. I was lucky enough to deliver my baby when she was on call otherwise it would have been a C-section (really didn't want that and she knew it). I just LOVE her. Wherever she goes I'll follow. She also has a positive and calming attitude- really good bedside manners. I am a very anxious person and she was able to calm me down when necessary. Will not hesitate to refer her to a friend who would like to be conservative with the medications, procedures they need.

Money making person not a Care provider…read more I had very bad experience with Dr. Tun. She will be good with you until delivery date and try to answer all your questions(but, in a hurry). We had choosen some delivery date for which Dr. Tun wasn't on-call. We are not sure if that was the reason or because the delivery was completed, Dr. Tun did not answered our queries properly post that and even didn't helped us with just increase in my wife's medication just for 1 month when I was struggling with Covid pandemic issue(I wasn't in USA that time). We mentioned to her the issue and got respond that she is not primary care and to contact primary care. This was very unpleasant that Care provider doesn't care for anything when she doesn't see money making opportunity in you and won't help you out irrespective of what the situation is. I strongly recommend to even not consider her, you can see the consequences later if a care provider is selfish, she can do anything when in need.

After the extremely disrespectful, racist, awful appointment it made complete sense on why there was a same day availability. Just because Dr. Stickney is on a board, has been a top doc doesn't mean he actually deserves to be.
