BUYER BEWARE!! Paid $16,999 for a piece of jewelry at Lillianne's. Gerry said great investment piece (his tagline). Went to sell it recently, top dollar I found was $3200. It's not like you can bring another jeweler with you when you shop to guide you. Just be aware that he's going to scam you. Also once when I went there, I heard a very loud man's voice saying not so nice words when I was walking up to the door. When I got inside one of the ladies told me "he's in a bad mood". I guess when he has all family working for him, he can verbally abuse employees. read more

When we originally went in to purchase, they were lovely, but when we had problems, they got frustrated and were unpleasant. My wedding band kept losing diamonds. We had to take it back three times in two months. They finally replaced it and that one completely fell apart within two weeks. This was a ring appraised at $4800. When we returned it, they took no responsibility for the damage. No apology. No "I'm sorry that happened to you." When we went down the street to a competitor, they asked if the ring was downsized more than one size. It was downsized two sizes, which compromised the structure of the ring. Lilliane's denied that was the case. Really poor service. And sad to not have the original ring my husband put on my finger. read more

Little bit of a mixed bag at Lillianes -- I found my wife's engagement ring here and it is very unique and beautiful, so that scores some points. However, I didn't love the process. I felt pressured and it's such a huge decision that it sort of just shut down my decision making. It just had a weird vibe. We relied on them to do a repair a handful of years later, and it was pretty pricey. That's the jewelry world, but I had some sticker shock. Full disclosure, my wife dropped it off with them and OKed the repairs so I didn't really fight it because I was late to the party. I did ask them if there was any coverage since I bought the ring there and didn't love the argumentative style when I simply asked for some more info. Lastly, their hours, woof! 10-5? Our ring sat at Lillianes for months longer than we wanted because it's simply impossible to get all the way out there during those hours. I won't come back for additional repairs, and would recommend someone do diligence when shopping around for jewlery -- however, you might just find a good one here so it's worth adding to your rotation. read more

I have been looking to replace my lost wedding ring for a few years and just never found anything that I had to have. Last Sunday I was sick and scouring the internet. Lillianes came up on a search and I fell in love with a ring they had online. It was quite large and would need sized down quite a bit so I emailed the store to find out if it was even possible. They replied that it would be. Then being sick and not very close to the store I asked if they could text me a picture of the ring on someone's finger. I didn't hear back right way so I started to think it was to crazy of a request but then a picture appeared on my phone. We immediately drove over and it was perfect. We left it to be sized and soldered together. I picked it up today and all was as promised. We also had a watch battery replaced and left a watch to be taken apart and cleaned. They do everything here and it is the sweetest local mom and pop shop. Everyone is so kind and helpful. They have bowls of treats placed throughout the store and there was a small bar with wine so I am guessing they do some events or parties. They have a variety of items from antique to contemporary. When my husband decided he was going to propose to me, he knew that I was ethically opposed to the diamond market, and that we both had a taste for antique jewelry. As he hunted for a good source for an antique engagement ring for me, a helpful Internets Citizen directed him to Lilliane's in Prarie Village. Lilliane's is a small jeweler and jewelry dealer attached to a larger antique mall. They helpfully corresponded with my husband by phone an email while he was checking out his options, and found us a perfect, beautiful ring from the 1930s for a reasonable price (for fine jewelry). The unusual shape of the ring necessitated a custom wedding band to fit, and I worked with Sam, the in-house jeweler, to have a platinum band made that matched the band of my ring and framed the shape of the setting. He was a little difficult to communicate with - while very nice, he clearly isn't a real people person - but we ended up coming up with something lovely that fits (my finger and the engagement ring) just right. I'm such a picky asshole that when my boyfriend proposed to me back in October, he did so without the ring (which was an EXTREMELY smart decision). I had never really given much thought to the type of engagement ring I wanted, but I knew I wanted something old and not insanely shiny. I knew Katie S. had found a beautiful ring at Lilliane's, so the weekend after getting engaged my boyf-iance and I went to check out their engagement ring selection. They had a number of beautiful antique rings available to try on, and many of them were within my fiance's price range (which I was a tad worried about since sometimes I associate "antique" with "overpriced"). The woman working with us was super patient as I tried on about twenty rings, and some of them more than once. I finally settled on a 1920s art deco diamond ring that I love more and more each day. The price was great and the service was even better. They resized the ring for free, threw in a cleaning kit and also gave us a great deal on my fiance's wedding band. It was such a great experience that I've since had them repair another diamond ring of mine, and I'm planning to return to pick out my wedding band. My mother LOVES love LOVES Lillianes, so when my fiance proposed she immediately took me here because she already had some lovely earrings picked out to accessorize. I found a gorgeous pair of aquamarine studs (something blue) with diamonds around in a square and she also found a little something for herself too. While we were there, I looked at the great selection of wedding bands and ended up picking something out that I can't wait to wear when we get married in August! With the purchase of my band, my fiance gets a wedding band too from their selection and he enjoyed picking out jewelry more than he thought. It's a small store with a very friendly staff and they have awesome pricing policies and you can make payments over the phone which is very very helpful since I don't live in town. We do make lots of trips to go check their new selection of pieces and they will also clean your rings for your while you're waiting or shopping at no extra charge. My mom has basically turned us all into addicts there that when I call they have to ask me which one I am out of my family since we've all bought beautiful jewelry from there. Jewelry ok, but overpriced. If you are looking to sell, beware. Unless you're willing to be taken advantage of or are completely ignorant of what you have and will be happy with anything - stay away. Their first question is how much do you want (because you're the expert) - if you know what you have they don't want your business, if you don't I'm sure they'll be happy to lowball you. This may be a good place to buy jewelry, but certainly not to sell. I went into a store with a platinum wedding band with one carat diamond on it, appraised for $1450. I have the original receipt, where I paid $1000 for it. I asked them how much they would give me, and they refused to give an amount until I told them how much I wanted. I told them I would prefer they start negotiations, since often places will take the owner's bid as a top point and negotiate way down from there. I told him I would like $1000 for it since he could sell it at the appraisal price. I asked him how much he could give me for it, and he told me I refused to negotiate. Finally, he told me he can only give me $350 for it in order to make money. I find that highly doubtful, and I would have been more appreciative if he would've told me his price upfront. Completely unfair!!!! I bought my vintage wedding set 5 years ago from Lilliane's. I was very pleased with the service at the time. I went to sell back the ring and was offered $250 by the owner or I could put it up for consignment. I could not decide that day and would come back. Due to store hours and my work schedule it took me several weeks to get back. One of the female employees recognized me and the ring and said she would grab the owner to reassess the ring. This time he claimed he did not remember and that he did not offer me $250. He looked at it for a second and very gruffly told me no and no offer this time. I'm not sure what I did wrong this time. I was embarrassed in front of the other employees listening and he was incredibly rude for someone who sold me the ring in the first place. I now know where not to go for jewelry. read more
