First of all, I would like to thank mick for fixing my AC issue. I was driving home from work with the AC on and found out it was not blowing cold air. I know this is the cold season but my car was warm inside so i decided to use the AC. I could had rolled down my windows instead but I discovered something is not right. So, I found this place at yelp and contact Mick about my AC problem and told me to come in and troubleshoot the issue. I drove from Riverside to Murrieta while testing out my AC at max cold and fan to see any cold blowing air but there was nothing. Once I arrived, Mick began to inspect my car immediately and said I was low on freon and had a electrical issue. I knew I was low but I didn't knew he discovered that I had a bad AC compressor relay so he charge me for a new one along with the freon at a reasonable price. He told me my compressor would go bad if I didn't fix it asap so thank god I came at the right time. It took him 30 minutes to fix my car and I am satisfied about my visit. I took my car in to get AC fixed and then when I used it it started to rattle. It was only 1 week later. I took it back for the rattling and they wanted to charge me $70 to diagnose it. The rattle only came on when the AC was on. I explained that it didn't make since for them to charge me again for work they did. I ended up leaving and will take it to another Mecanic. The new owner Mike is arrogant and treated me like I was a dumb female. The original owner or Precision wouldn't have done that. It's too bad because the actual guy that worked on the car and helped me when I first went in was honest. read more

This owner is obviously covering for his wife/ Girlfriend who works the front of the shop. I know what shop I called and who I spoke to and what I was quoted. I have a 2002 Mazda 626 that has 267,000 miles on it. I have had the car since it had 34,000 miles on it. I know my car inside and out. It has a very slow leak in AC system and every year I spend about $50 to shoot Freon in the system and that gets me through the summer. I really don't need a diagnosis on my cooling system, I know it has a leak. To tell me they won't just add the Freon without doing a full diagnostic on the unit it just a plain rip-off. And I was quoted $199 And to tell me I must have called the wrong shop is a joke. My 2005 Yukon XL's AC was starting to blow hot air intermittently out of the driver's side vents only, while the passenger side was getting cool air. So in searching Yelp for a honest automotive AC shop, I found and read the reviews for this shop. I made an appointment the day before (10 AM) and when I arrived was greeted warmly by the young lady that appears to be the shop's front office manager. I met Mick who also greeted me warmly and explained some of my AC system's symptoms, including that a local GM dealership strongly recommended that I change out my AC compressor belt as it was observed to be severely cracked by their mechanic. Mick surmised that the system may be low on Freon and wold run some other diagnostics to see if he could ascertain any other issues. Mick came back and advised me that he added some freon and that while my AC system was cooling sufficiently, it would not be cooling at what the normal range is, but at this point there were several variables that could be causing the problem but he would not be able to identify with certainty what was the cause. Mick gave me several possibilities all which would not require replacement but collectively may all cause the less than optimum cooling temps. He also discussed with his finding of his compressor belt inspection: he stated that the belt looked fine and if it was his personal vehicle, would not change it. Me, being somewhat proactive, and having lived and driven this vehicle for 7 years in the hot Las Vegas weather, I chose to have him replace it anyways. Incidentally, Mick showed me the belt he removed from my vehicle: there was no signs of cracking one would normally see on rubber belt that is over 9 years old with over 128k miles, exposed to prolong periods of hot weather and constant usage. Mick did point out one small crack that was normal wear and tear but that was it. It pissed me off that the dealership was trying to tell me the belt was in need of replacement. Overall, the time for Mick to change out my belt and add freon was about an hour, and his pricing was very reasonable as well. The dealership was giving me an estimate of $135 for R/R the belt, Mick was approximately $79 (parts and labor). Based on his honesty and giving you good information to make an informed decision(s) on which repairs are required and which ones can be postponed to a later time, I highly recommend this business owner for all of your vehicle's AC and electrical repair needs! read more

So my A/C went out 2 years ago and i call the shop i normally take my car to. They quoted me $1650. I call around 4 other shops and the ballpark for the whole entire A/C system in my Honda to be fixed is between $1500-$1689. I just said forget it, it's too much. This year i was searching on YELP for auto A/C's.......this is the first shop that popped up. I called......I was told that they couldn't really give me an estimate over the phone without seeing the car first. I told them that other shops told me that it's most likely the compressor. Mick said they have this thing called a "2nd opinion verification" and before going to fix the compressor they check first if that's really what's wrong with it. So I made an appointment the next day and sure enough the compressor was out. We left the car overnight, came back the next day and it was done!! I had my husband's car checked as well since his A/C wasn't blowing cold air anymore like it used to. They refilled his freon and fixed my A/C compressor....we payed only $1200 and got a free shirt, parts & labor warranteed for 2 years...we were happy!!! This shop saved us nearly $500. It wasn't only the saving money part that we liked.......Mick was very helpful and super nice. The girl in the front was nice and helpful too. When I called he said his computer broke and didn't have records or receipts and couldn't verify I had work done there. 2 I was willing to mail you the old part so you could look it up but since you didn't have records either, I wasn't going to spend the money to mail you the old compressor ( since I moved to another state ) and not be reimbursed for anything. 3 I was just trying to get a refund for the part you used, which was replaced by you! Because my new mechanic said this part didn't even fit or belong on a Mazda. You just said yourself you had no evidence because you either 1 you have terrible record keeping or 2 you conveniently couldn't find it in your system which you said your computer broke. The owner is unprofessional and rude. I purchased a $100 diagnostic and when I asked for a print out of what I needed to get fixed the owner became very mad because he thought I was going to go "shop around" when he spent a couple hours on my car already. That's exactly why I got a diagnostic to see what was wrong and get the best price. Very rude and dismissing. I will never go back there again. I would give them zero stars if I could. Needed professional AC service on our 2003 Toyota Tacoma. At 180,000 miles we began experiencing intermittent issues with the AC system. Ran fine on the freeway but around town would blow warm air after starting out cold. I replaced the condenser and drier units myself, and did a poor mans freon recharge with help from a friend. Still had the issues with intermittent warm air while at lower idle. So, did some research on Yelp and made the drive to Murrieta from Escondido today after speaking with the owner, Mick, on the phone this morning. I dropped my keys with Kimmy the receptionist, and she drove out truck back so Mick could take a look. The initial estimate was $90 to evacuate and recharge the system, and this would provide a baseline where Mick could get a better handle on any issues. Clearly explained up front I'd like to add. I waited in the clean reception area, several magazines were displayed but I mostly noodled on my phone. After about 20 minutes Mick emerged and introduced himself. We went over the brief history of the vehicle, and his diagnosis was just a system recharge! There is a possible fan clutch issue, but Mick could not be sure. He gave me a quick lesson on AC technology (in easy to understand terms) and explained the variables in my Tacoma's system. My freon was 1/2 pound low, which they refilled, added some oil to the system (maintenance), and had me on my way blowing ice cold air all the way back to Escondido. We discussed the fan clutch replacement and I received and estimate for that repair, but in Mick's opinion it want necessary yet. They installed a thermometer in my AC vent so I could monitor the temps and return if anything changes. Who does that? A business owner who values the trust of his customers, that's who. Mick not only knows his stuff, he commits, gets the job done and always has a friendly smile on his face. I should have done this a long time ago but better late than never. I took in my 92 4runner last June once the temps got high and I had procrastinated on doing the work myself. I wont bore you with the entire story but Mick not only told it to me strait, but performed phenomenal work at a fair price. Brought my daughters car three weeks ago to have the AC checked. It's been running intermittently, turns on in the morning but doesn't work in the afternoon. Owner said it was just low freon and just recharge it costing me $110.00. Now it's the same thing happening again. Brought it back three days ago and the owner said he was busy and will not be able to look at it that day. I went back that following Monday very early making sure that I will be the first customer in the shop. He arrived at 8:00 AM and told me to leave the car again without even bothering to look at the AC. There are no other customers that time so he makes himself busy cleaning his ice cooler, putting things around but not directly talking to me. I was getting my break and light inspection at another location who does testing, and they found a wiring problem that was too complex for them to deal with, so I went to Precision Auto to get it fixed. Mick was able to see me that day, went out of his way to drop me off (and later pick me up) at work a couple miles away while he diagnosed and fixed the problems. He was EXTREMELY fair, honest, efficient and a super nice guy. Good trustworthy mechanics can be hard to come by. I would use him for everything on my car if he wasn't a specialist. HIGHLY recommended! I met the owner, Mitch and I knew right away that he was going to solve my Toyota 4runner's problem. I've had the mis-fortune of requiring A/C service on several of my vehicles. A/C repair shops run the range from "fill only" to "can diagnosis and rebuild almost anything A/C system". Precision falls in the latter category. If you find a shop that has the equipment and knowledge to rebuild hoses in-house, you have probably found a good shop. While on vacation in 110 degree heat, my low-side pressure hose had a leak. It was filled 2 months ago and just wasn't holding the Freon. Precision has the tools, the replacement hoses and the replacement fittings to rebuild the hose. The result was a fast repair (about 1-1/2 hours), and a system that provided a 53 degree vent temperature on a 113 degree day in moderate driving. That is about a 60 degree drop from outside ambient temperature which is outstanding. The price was very reasonable. Yep, as good as it gets. read more

I was given a straight forward explanation of the problem and was was even shown where my leak was. I did have to wait a little longer because a second leak was found afterward, but just shows how detailed of a job was done. Now my AC is blowing ice cold! The price was very reasonable as well. I am very impressed and grateful for the service I received today at Precision. This is clearly a class act, and I am thankful for Mick's outstanding work, Lyndsey's customer service and extensive knowledge, and also Jim from Mobile Service for Referring me here. I had a very complicated AC issue on my 04 Jeep Wrangler that I was unable to solve (and I am pretty good mechanic myself). All the vents would work besides the face vent. I checked all the external vacuum lines, replaced the switches etc, and nothing. I finally decided to take it to who I heard was the best in the area for these types of things. Mick is clearly a rare breed among mechanics who are often times loudmouth douchebags who invent a bunch of extra bs work they need to do in order to make an extra buck. He clearly knows exactly what he is doing, and has a very concise and methodical way dealing with this stuff. He called me twice on his own accord to keep me informed on what was going on, and asked for my permission to proceed with another hour of labor he believed was needed to get it fixed right. I agreed, and am very happy I did. He charged me $220 total to have the internal issues with the actuators sorted out, when I know it realistically took him at least 4 hours of his time - easy. I was treated with respect from the moment I came in, was not nickel and dimed, received phenomenal service, and finally have my ac blowing through the face vents. Precision has helped me regain my lost faith in taking my cars to a mechanic. Whoever posted the "1 Star Review" clearly has the wrong person and needs to fix it. We were first time customers needing air conditioning service on our ML500 that was only blowing warm air. We've tried the recharging cans they sell at stores and that didn't last for more than a week. Mick immediately acknowledge us as we entered while he was working on a vehicle in the shop. We were under the impression that we were going to pay a ridiculous amount for our Mercedes to be serviced, but that wasn't the case here.
