RATS! Boy did I have a day of it with RATS! I have been going to Inland Auto for my smog certificates for a few years now. They offer, quick, know how service with a smile. I've decided to put my Toyota Matrix in Mike, the owners care as well. He knows his stuff. Plus, he truly went above and beyond.... RATS! Rats had made a home under the hood of my rarely driven car. Not just a home, a home for TWO RATS! They had gathered a zillion dates from the date palm tree. Horrible. "Please, can you help me?", I pleaded with Mike. He gave in. Not normally something they would do. Phew! Not many places available that would have done it either. Later, Mike showed me how he'd cleaned up under the hood, and honestly? The oil light on my vehicle came on, so I took my vehicle to inland auto in Murrieta. They said it was because my oil drain plug was loose. I'm sure that was the first thing they checked. Well for this 5 minute job which involved tightening the drain plug they charged me $180. Yeah $180 to tighten a drain plug !! read more

Originally went to another shop (Murrieta Smog Star) to get a Smog done. Checked the night before for the opening time (07:30 am) and planned my morning accordingly. Got their at 07:25 and no one was there and showed up exactly at 07:30, (this is an indicator in my book already). The guy said that the tech was not there and if I'd give them 15 minutes. I waited the 15 minutes and still no response from anyone there. There are so many negative things I can say about this. First, if you're going to advertised that you are open for work between certain hours you should be ready to work during those hours not start getting ready to work. I seen a sign stating Labor $180 an hour which would equate to $45 of my time just waiting to be served. After my 15 minutes of wasted time I went to Inland Auto which was a few doors down from where I was at. I was immediately and professionally greeted by Mike and taken care of very quickly. The place was spotless which is an indicator to me as to the grade of work they do. While there I also watched how they treated other customers as they came in. My ac went out 10-13 and 10-14 I called to see if I could get in. I went in and confirmed my fear, ac compressor dead. Mike was able to get a new compressor and installed same day. I had an awesome experience I was in there for a smog check and the Man said it would be 15 to 20 min and he was a Man of his word. That's hard to come buy these days really it is. I tell you the last place I went to wanted to charge me 420 for a wire harness repair due to part and labor and a failed smog test. We have a 2005 Dodge Viper we had a leak in a couple of lines. We took it to the dealer and the parts were already obsolete so they could not fix it. I checked on the Viper sites and no one had a recommendation on where to take it. We took it to Inland Auto and they replaced everything that needed to be replaced. They asked me to write a review because it helps them out, but they didn't help me out at all This is what happened folks: Truly I hesitate to give them a second star. I took my car to get my ac fixed and I left with a still broken ac and almost a 130.00 less. They didn't not diagnose my car correctly and improperly assumed what the issue was with my car without ever asking me. They wouldn't give me my keys so I could test it myself until I paid. And after I paid and got the chance to check, it still didn't work and Inland Auto told me I had to pay a second diagnosis fee because the issue wasn't what they thought it was. Left with broken ac on a hot day. Truly got fooled by them. read more

Everything was good until I got my car back and saw that my custom paint matched fiberglass rockers on the side of my car were cracked, had scratches, and a chunk of fiberglass taken off. Owner mentioned he had a problem getting my car on the lift due to it being low but continued anyways. Called owner he admitted to it and didn't inform me at the time of pickup and all he had to say was sorry. He did not try to fix or remedy the situation in anyway. My previous experience with them was good but this made it go downhill as I expected a certain amount of quality from them that they gave me before. Also, it was just all repainted only a few weeks prior due to it being in the body shop. Now that body shop work was pointless and a waste of money due to the carelessness of this shop. read more
