Buyer Beware! Based on the online reviews I had Precison doors come in to look at an electric motor issue. They quoted and fixed that but also found a number of other issues related to the mechanical parts... good preventative measures. HOWEVER, after paying close to $2000 for the replacement of the springs, hinges, etc. I realized they had vastly OVERCHARGED me! The work is fine, but get 2-3 quotes minimum and don't be fooled by Precision's website quotes. read more

One of our automatic garage doors would not close after repeated attempts by me on both the exterior keypad and interior control panel. Tino from Precision Garage Doors arrived here on time, quickly analyzed the problem (the door sensors), and made the necessary repairs. He also went above and beyond the specific job by checking the operation of the other garage door, spraying the hinges on BOTH doors, and replacing the light bulbs attached to the motor of the door that he had just repaired. This place is ridiculous. I had a broken garage door and asked for service to have the motor disconnected to make it a manual door and also have the springs replaced. They never disconnected the motor as I asked for, and I left several messages about this that were never returned. Then, the first bill I EVER received - which was just two weeks later - was a threat of sending me to collections! I paid that with a check but included a note to please call me about the service AND that I was unhappy about the collections notice. Now, they have not cashed my check AND have sent me to collections. I don't know what kind of racket this place is running, but go ANYWHERE ELSE. read more

Precision Door of Westchester has installed two of the three doors on my garage. Their work is always first class. Job done right the first time. Recently I had a key pad failure on one of the new doors. Sonny Erol came out and fixed that along with programming my car and two other remote openers. Sonny's great, and a good guy to boot, but no matter who comes to your house from Precision, they are uniformly friendly, professional and good at what they do. We used Precision Door several years ago to replace a motor so I called them again. Technician showed up promptly. After his inspection and the up sell attempt (which I was fully expecting) we finally got to the issue. Instead of replacing the entire motor, he thought a repair was a better option. Hey. I live in Manhattan, but I take care of my Mom's home in Westchester. I recently had a problem with her garage door and I did not know who to call. I ran to GOOGLE and the NUMBER ONE option was PRECISION DOOR SERVICE. I have to be honest, I did not comparison shop... I cannot tell you if what I paid is more or less than the going rate for a "garage opener" repair. What I can say is: I received prompt and highly professional service! I have used Precision twice, and I bet people are wondering why they get 1 or 2 stars and 5 stars for all of their reviews. The answer is - they are very good service wise, and do a good job. the bad part is they severely overcharge for everything with the logic that they give you a "lifetime warranty" for everything. You cannot get anything without the lifetime warranty, and it is a reason to severely jack up the prices. The first time I used them was three years ago. I needed help with the rollers as after 28 years they were not working well and causing issues for the 10 year old motors. They tried to sell me new doors but instead I paid $1000 to replace all the rollers on both doors. They did a good job, and I got a "lifetime warranty" on the work done. I knew that was useless, but the installer kept telling me what a great deal it was. Now we are one year down the road and the garage was hit by lightning... killing the two motors. For them to do it (I bid it out) it was well over $1000. For Sears with Genie parts it was $400. Now that is comparing a high-end service to a low-end service, but guess what? Three years later, and the Sears installed Genie's which are belt driven still work fine (and it is much quieter than the old chain driven Sears unit). Sears even put surge protectors on them so when the house was hit by lightning again last summer, the units survived this time (and I just had to replace the $5 surge protectors). Now it is year three (a year ago) since the rollers were replaced and the wooden garage doors were starting to rot out after 32 years of use. I had to replace the $1000 in parts I bought three years ago. That is not the fault of Precision, but again, I wish I did not have to buy the surcharge for a lifetime service contract. I did bring them in to bid again, and they came in around $1200 per door or $2400. The second bidder is at $4000. The last bidder is about $1000 per door. I am comparing apples to apples with the same R factor for insulation, same brand, same options, and they all use high quality parts. So when push comes to shove, and they are put in a competitive situation, they bring their price down substantially (they quoted me over $1500 three years ago for each door at the time - now the price is $300 less). However, the question you have to ask yourself - are you going to hire them to install parts with a lifetime warranty, and then keep the receipts to show proof of purchase 30 years later when you need to replace the garage doors again? No? Then they are definitely not worth it as you pay a lot more for a lifetime maintenance agreement that you will never be able to use. If you do decide to go with them and keep the receipts and pay the surcharge, you will be satisfied and have a lifetime warranty to boot - as they do good work in the end. It just costs more. read more

Technicians (Soner/'Sonny' and Danny) arrived early. Very friendly. Seemed to have a very firm knowledge of garage doors, motors, cables, etc. Walked through their troubleshooting process step-by-step. Provided (2) options. We opted for the less expensive 'partial repair.' We were just looking to solve the issue at the present time. Work took less than 1 hr. Replaced pulleys, cables and made some adjustments to our door, track and operator. I docked 1 star b/c price was a bit expensive. Even for lesser of 2 options. Otherwise, service was prompt, issue seems to be resolved and both technicians were very friendly and helpful. read more

First time using Precision Doors and it was a surprisingly great experience. Our door technician, Ricardo Clerigo, showed up at 8am found the issue with our door right away and replaced the broken part. He instructed us on what other parts to get for the door because ours is pretty old and the older parts would break down as well since "they would be doing double the work of the new part" is what he said. He was patient as I was trying to debate on whether spending the extra cash would be a good choice, but it was definitely worth it. had to had snapped cables replaced on my garage door - called in the morn and i was able to get an appointment same day early afternoon. Rick Jones came by at around 1pm. he assessed, and made a quick repair. he also gave me some tips on other things that required maintenance going forward. there was no up sell. he was courteous and workmanlike. charges seemed reasonable. $69 for the service call and $99 for the cables furnished and installed. i rarely if ever give 5 stars to anybody so 4 stars is pretty good for me. im a satisfied customer. the door is fixed, so im very happy. read more

Well the motor I my Garage Door finally went. Without hesitation I called Jimmy at Precision in Mamaroneck. I specifically asked for Sonny because of the way he works and how he helped me on 2/21/19. He came by yesterday and replaced the Motor and basically all the other equipment. Sonny treats your home like it was his. He was right on time and finished in exactly the amount of time he said he would. He cleaned and swept up the garage and when he was done I had basically a brand new door. Sonny also gave me some good tips on how to make the motor last longer (Power Surge Protectors). Last but not least he went over EVERY STEP on how to operate the new key pads and remote. In summary on a scale of 1-10 I give Sonny an 11. We've been customers for a while now, and while ideally once you purchase and have a door and/or door opener installed, you don't need to have any more contact with the company you bought it from. However, these electric openers, while strong and well built, do develop problems, eventually. When this happens, Precision Door really shows what they are made of. My wife was distressed when she came home just the other day to find our garage door did not close fully after she had driven away earlier. It had stopped about 8-10 inches off the ground, and would not respond to the home-link button in her car, the digital keypad outside the garage itself, or the remote we keep inside the house. She called Precision, and within a couple of hours one of their ace technicians, Jullian Villamor was in our driveway. Our unit was not old, but it wasn't new either, though everything but the motor was still under their warranty. Guess what was broken? Yep. So my wife figured "ok, it is what it is", our house is on a hill, we use our garage door a lot. If the motor is toast, then we buy a new one. The, with no prompting at all, Jullian called the main office, and within a few moments got off the phone and told us they were going to give us a complete new opener, at no cost!. Now this was happy news for sure, but either way, Jullian was the consummate professional. He got to work right away, and in short time we had a new garage door opener, professionally installed at no charge! My wife, could not stop singing Precision Doors and Jullians praises. We were already fans of theirs and have referred everyone who asks to them. I probably should have written this review sooner, but better late than never. I had two sets of broken garage door springs. Now was the time I finally decided to put two automatic openers to save my back from lifting 150 lb. doors. I called Precision on Wednesday, they came on Saturday. Lio and his brother Denny listened to what I wanted, recommended what would work best, had all of the materials and parts, and Installed the new motors and door rollers within 4 hours (also extremely quite compared with my previous door rollers). I've used Precision in the past and will use them again in the future. This time around, I had a roller slip the track. I figured that the bracket would have to be removed and I'd be on the hook for at least and hour's worth of labor. But, no, the techs worked together to get the roller out of the bracket without removing the bracket and then lifted the door to a point where the bracket could be reinserted. It took about 1 minute or less to get the job done. Reliable and honest - what more can you ask? Techs like Jevin Y and Joel N are why I call Precision. read more

Garage door remotes started fading a few days ago and finally stopped working. I called Precision Door in the morning as I had very good experience with them in the past on a different problem. They promised to send a technician the same day. Ricardo came and explained that the motor (over 25 years old) required replacement. He had all required parts in his truck and did the replacement installation, plus a few other enhancements, in about an hour and a half. Ricardo is very knowledgeable and helpful and did an excellent job. Overall I am very pleased with the work performed. read more
