Precision had recently installed a new garage door for us and we were very impressed with their work. So when our door stopped going up and down when the remote was pressed, I naturally called them because while the electrical mechanism is totally separate from the door they put in, I knew they would do a great job. is totally separate from the door they put in, I knew they would do a great job. We were able to get an appointment in less than 24 hours. They give a four hour window for when the service person will arrive, and Jeff arrived within two hours of that window. He was his explanation of what had to be done and he got the work done in a little over an hour. Precision offers a lifetime guarantee should anything stop working and since we expect to be living in our house for a long time, we took advantage of that. When I first moved into my home 2 years ago, the torsion spring on my garage opener broke. I was a naive new homeowner and went ahead and went to Yelp to find the most highly reviewed garage door service company. Then I figured I had a loud older garage opener so I thought I might as well get it replaced while I'm at it. He convinced me to replace all the torsion springs. I have two garage doors. I should have gotten more quotes. Because I was quoted $2700 to replace the torsion springs and two new garage openers. Again I was a naive brand new homeowner and said yes. $2700 for 3 hours of work max. Garage door openers retail for $200 max. And torsion springs are let's say $80 each on the higher end. So $520 in parts and $2180 in labor?! I should have said no but again I was a naive new homeowner and didn't think anyone would try to take advantage. It took me a year and a half to figure out how to connect it to WiFi but I guess for $2700 that was beyond his scope of work. And he insisted on cash only. I felt like I got taken advantage of. I don't recall his name. It took me some time to write this review because I try to block it out. And I wasn't going to until I saw a review of someone saying they were quoted $1800 for a new opener and someone from the company replied saying they don't charge that much. Well I sure was charged that much and more. Since then I never hired another contractor for anything again and just had to learn whatever came up on my own in my limited free time. So I guess thanks for that Precision. The garage door opener works great btw and the torsion springs are still intact. read more

I got excellent communication from the company, an email from Kyle Kearny, the technician, describing his background, and a call on the day of the appointment saying he could come earlier than our appointment. The job was expertly done within 45 minutes, and the fee was reasonable. What a difference from my frustration with Sears, which kept me waiting all day two days ago when the technician never showed up. He called today after the repair was completed. Requested help opening garage door. Happened late in the day (after 3pm) but they sent a tech for an Emergency call . Tech arrived with 45 minutes. My problem was assessed as my slightly opened tailgate being stuck on the inside handle. Would not release. My tech, Kyle tried several methods to "shake" the tailgate and door to little effect. Eventually the door was manually lifted enough for him to crawl under and close the tailgate. The issue was resolved and he then made sure to reset the motor, which I had installed only two month before, and cleaned up any debris. He then explained the bill before I signed off. Our very noisy very old electric garage door opener died. Although I usually try to shop locally (and we do have a local place) I was not pleased with the garage door they replaced so I saw an ad and called Precision. I couldn't be happier! They had different offerings at different price points and I thought they offered good service with good value. I hate yo wax poetic over a garage door motor with remote AND keypad but these guys are terrific. We called these guys to replace the weatherstripping on the bottom of our garage door. The technician shows up, rips off the old weatherstripping, then discovers that he needs to go back to the warehouse to get a replacement because he doesn't have the right size. So the bottom of our door is basically wide open to chipmunks, moisture, etc. He said he'd call me the next day to schedule a follow up and we left it at that. A week rolls by and nobody got in touch so I call back. The manager tells me that they're very sorry but they wont be able to do the job because they can't get the weatherstripping we need. Apparently we have an unusually thick garage door. Thanks for destroying the original weatherstripping (which was old but mostly functional), not knowing you wouldn't be able to replace it, and then not calling us to explain what happened! I received a phone call from Julian Villamor at 7:45 am. Julian is a technician for Precision Door Service. He stated he was on his way, to expect him at 8am and that he was just stopping for a cup of coffee, then asked if he could bring me coffee or iced coffee. This was my first surprise.....I have never had any service technicians ever offer to buy me coffee, usually it is the other way around. Julian was extremely knowledgeable and very professional. I have been impressed since we got the door installed two years ago. We had construction so the swelling and contracting of wood shifted the rails--not at all an issue with quality. The website is super easy to schedule service, there was great availability and I find the texts with a photo of the technician both endearing but also responsible as a female homeowner who isn't sure who is coming to her door. Our serviceman today walked me through the issues (extra points since he didn't ask for my husband as other service technicians have done!). And answered my questions.
