Only went here because my barber is on vacation. This place is 5 min from me. I remain respectful to the law and the rules of my environment. They require masks (like all facilities) and it was displayed on the front door. a client sitting about 6-7ft away from me was allowed to take his mask off during his haircut. My barber barely had the mask on, didn't even cover his nose and his top lip. My haircut came out awful. Chunks of hair were razored off, looks like I have 2 thumb prints on the side of my head. The baby hairs (side burns) under my mask were not shaved. I look like a clown less than a week from Christmas. Not sure if the gentleman who cut my hair was blind or careless. read more

Nice hair studio for both men and women. The area is huge, with at least 4 to 5 hair stylist doing their thing at the same time. Nice flat screen tv while you wait on a nice comfortable leather seats. The place is decorated well with NY portraits of the city and subways etc. Staff is friendly and funny! The best part is, they know how to cut hair to your liking. Very Clean too. You can talk about any topic with these guys and each of them will know a little something about it. This place is well planned and put together. It's clean, spacious, well-lit, laid-out and designed. The staff is friendly and efficient. I've gotten my hair cut from two of the barbers so far. The barbers followed my instructions and did a great job. I've gotten my hair cut at lots of places over the years. This is one of only a handful of shops I would recommend. I've been to shops where there's no customer service, where the barbers lack skills in doing fades and shapeups, you get cuts or scabs from the shapeup, where the barber will leave you in the chair to go outside to chitchat with a friend. This is NOT that kind of establishment. You can tell that everything is done in detail and with care. They even choose clean, calm music to play at a level that allows everyone to carry a conversation. This place is professional. I would recommend it for haircuts, fades, and shapeups. I can see throughout this comment section it's hit or miss for most people. My first experience was fine due to the simplistic way I wanted my hair cut (army like style). However, my second time coming was horrible. I was cut by Rob and he seemed very careless and even messed up cutting my hair. I'm going to a different barber tomorrow to just shave the rest of my head because he made my hair look so weird. Service was mediocre and the barber barley listened to anything I asked. First of all I was not greeted when I entered the place even after standing like an idiot at the register for 2 minutes. So, I figured they don't have a receptionist and I took a seat. After waiting 45 minutes, I was told I would be next (LIE #1). Then, somehow, someone else went and took the seat after the customer was served! I was getting ready to leave, and just before I could I was promised I could be taken next (LIE #2). Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I decided to stick around for 15 more minutes. Then they have the nerve to tell me that their appointment had "just came in" and that I would be taken next! (ATTEMPTED LIE #3) Incredible! I was lied to multiple times! I have never wasted more time in my life than at this place. The haircuts did not seem all that special either - there was a promo inside "Show us a positive yelp review and receive $5 off" so I would not believe all of these positive reviews. They told us there were only 4 people ahead of us, and there were 7 barbers there so I decided to wait. I noticed they took care of a lot of people before us (a lot more than 4) even though these people came in after us, because they were friends with the barbers. Miserable experience. Have been here 2-3 times before. Was never all that impressed but it did the trick. This time, horrible. Called to make an appointment and since I don't have a regular there, they gave me Ray. I show up at the scheduled time and Ray is chomping away on some peanuts/various other things in a jar. He tells me he's ready and I'm just hoping he bothers to wash his hands first. He doesn't. Then, the entire time he's just playing the role of comic relief to his co-workers. Walks away from my stand at least 5-6 different times, just to talk to his co-workers. Doesn't ask me if I'd like a round or straight cut in the back, doesn't ask if the cut was short enough, and I had to remind him to cut the back of the neck - at which point he uses the clipper and then a straight razor, without applying any shaving cream. Total idiot. Of course, I gave no tip except the friendly advice that if all he wants to do is chat with his buddies then he should go outside since he's definitely giving the impression that he's not paying attention. I get home, look in the mirror, and, no surprise, it's a godawful haircut. Ray - find a position as a comedian, you're not suited for this. read more

I have been going to Precision Hair Studio since 2011. My barber for the past eight years has been Jesus and it's been a long journey. At first I was too young and naive to realize the faults of Jesus. He had been doing the best job with my hairline and his fades always looked amazing. As time past on and I had to use other barbers while not at home, I soon realized what I was missing out on. Jesus' clippers often cause irritation even after the use of alcohol on your head and beard. Someone like me with very sensitive skin often left with bumps on my face and skin. My biggest problem with Jesus however is that he never listens to what you tell him. Often times I'd have to face the reality of a fade too high and an unimpressive style while other barbers continuously did not give me the same issues. Jesus has an idea of what your fade should look like and even though I must say many times it looks good, it is extremely frustrating when you continue to get a haircut you're not asking for. It has been a very difficult decision but I've decided to no longer go to precision barber shop and this is because of Jesus. His kindness, such as offering free eyebrow trimming, made this decision hard and his level of expertise was the sole reason I stayed for this long. Even amongst the other barbers of precision, Jesus was the only one who never listened to my instructions. Jesus never gave me the exact haircut that I want and I believe it's because of the fact that he has a loyal clientele that he believes his ways are perfect. If you just want a good haircut go to precision and Jesus, but if you truly care about how exactly your haircut wants to be and the "precision" of it, do not sit down on Jesus' chair and please go to another barber. read more

Since moving to be 5 years ago I had so much trouble finding a good barber. All I came across was a wanna be gangsta shop which claimed to give good hair cuts but didn't. Then I tried several "NY style" barber shops and was some times left wondering why I would pay for such a miserable haircut. One time I wanted long on the top but faded sides and the Israeli gives me skin sides and a buzzed Mohawk....after this I tried Justin's and had Togo back twice for them to correct it...I gave up on barbers completely and started buzzing my own head. Then I found precision. And thank goodness!!!! The first time I walked in and DO NOT recommend it. Make your appointments it's better off. Every barber is talented. Jay has been cutting mine and my sons hair for the last year and a half, for me that's huge as I have a problem liking the cuts I get. Jay and his staff are great, professional, and courteous. This is the spot if you are new to jersey or having a problem finding a good barber. But remember to scheduale your appt before hand so your not waiting. Try to get jay but they are great. read more

Went into this barber shop today not knowing what to expect. Saw the great ratings on Yelp and figured I would give it a try. I went into the shop to cut off all my hair and was quite nervous. I spoke to the owner and receptionist about my concerns and they were very helpful and made me feel extremely comforable. My barber turned out to be Rob who is TOTALLY AWESOME!!!! Not only did he cut my hair to precision using clippers and had skills with a pair of scissors he also made me feel comforable and confident that this cut would be great. I have been suffering from hair loss from a medical condition and he made me feel confident and beautiful with the cut. This was the first time I was able to walk out of a shop and not run and hide in my car with a hat and sunglasses. I would definetly reccomend this place only if you are looking for great barbers, expedited service and proffesional staff. Cant say enough about this place I WILL BE BACK! read more
