Anthony and his co- workers were: personable, communicative, kind, relational, professional, and they worked with you... instead of dumbing you down with condescending "tech talk". Godwin came in for a quote and totally blew it. In our opinion if there was a time when "Godwin's Got it!" that time is long - long gone. We have had several bad experiences with them. The Godwin crew on our jobs were not professional, personable, reliable... the list goes on. In fact we STILL have NOT received a quote for our water heater as they promised, now 2 weeks out...? But Ferrer Plumbing did a fantastic job. Anthony in one quick call, made an appointment to see our situation, he was great. He knew what he was doing, and explained everything in a way that average people can understand. The solution was perfect. Great water heater, at a price that was honest, fair and worth every penny, Anthony and Elijah, treated our home and situation like it was their home, and we will definitely use Ferrer in the future, and we unreservedly recommend them to everyone, especially our friends and family. If you still believe that LOCAL business can deliver the BEST in product, service, installation and follow up... then call Anthony at Ferrer. They represent what is best in business: excellent work ethic, and amazing customer care.

Our furnace was over 20 years old functioning but a bit of a head scratcher. Additionally we needed to upgrade our electrical panel. Grapids was able to subcontract that for us too. Tyler and Eric came out the very next day (bright and early) and spent the day reconstruction our HVAC system. Prior to their arrival we decided to add a humidifier to the unit. The office was seemlessly able to add that to our work order. Todd swang back out to check in on the progress and make sure we were happy. Throughout the day several members of Grapid came through to bring supplies and check in. The stars of the show were definitely Tyler and Eric who worked until after 7pm to complete the HVAC job. They worked well together and I could overhear them as I graded papers upstairs. They treated each other with respect and humor. It was so refreshing to have work done in our home by such wonderful people. They even took the time to FaceTime with my husband who was at work to show the final product and answer all of his questions. Without hesitation I will recommend Grapids (specifically Todd, Tyler and Eric) to anyone! I came back to add we had quotes from three different companies and Grapid was under the others AND included upgrading our electrical panel with one of their subcontractors.

Update: I did have someone reach out from the company named Andy to explain their pricing and…read moreoffered a solution to make things right in my eyes. The pricing isn't by hourly, but by a software they use to find the best rates for the job required. Ultimately, I've voiced my concerns of how that system works and what I think could change but they are sticking with the way the price structure works, as it works for them. I am happy with the solution that was offered to me, and would use this company again, but more so for serious issues that require an expert to come out. When booking the appointment, it was explained to me that it was $85 to have the team come out, and an additional $125 for diagnostic of the situation of my leaky pipe, which could be used towards the maintenance cost. The determination made by the technician is that the pack nuts needed to be screwed tighter, and it took the technician less than 2 minutes to do so. For this labor, I was charged $220, and the charge is not itemized, it is just marked as misc. - and I had no option to just tighten it myself, as it already cost me $125 for the technician to diagnose the issue. Since I was charged $220 for 2-3 minutes of labor, that's about $6600 per hour that they charge. If we did just the $95 on top of the diagnostic, that's $2,850 per hour for their labor. I understand they are a business and I am not saying I expected the work to be free, but for the fact it was an additional $95 for him to tighten the pack nuts in 2-3 minutes is crazy. I asked about why it costs so much / the charge couldn't be a flat $125 since it was a simple solution, the technician told me it was a liability if he didn't charge me for his work, and since he had to screw TWO pack nuts, that's where the extra charge came in. If you go through this company, just expect a labor cost of $47.50 per minute.

They do not have flat fees and will not quote over the phone, as every house and issue varies, requiring different solutions. However, the house call is free and you can decline services at no charge once they discover the problem and quote their recommended solution. My particular problem happened to be a clogged main line, and they give several solutions with varying prices and results. Specifically, my technician was Les and I recommend you request him if such a thing is possible. He has a very calm and relaxed demeanor, arrived on time and simply asked for my description of the problem. Les is very knowledgeable and experienced and could hypothesize what my issue was pretty quickly, but did not speed through the process. He was very willing and, perhaps, enjoyed answering any and all of my questions no matter how basic they were; I learned a lot about my house, it's plumbing and how he was correcting the issue just by talking to him throughout the job. He gave me a lot of options for the fix and did not pressure me to choose any of them or up-sell me, he only gave recommendations and guided me through what each of the processes were. Les explained they operate and sustain their business with honesty and thoroughness, both of which were very true. He got to work and snaked the main drain, while also running the camera in the line so I could see the obstructions he was hitting. He'd hit each clog several times (being thorough) to make sure he'd get it the best he could and ran all the way out to the city connection. Most of the blockage was tree roots and he showed me what trees they were coming from and also gave advice on how to keep the line clean and how to resolve the, unfortunately, reoccurring issue in the future. Les took excellent notes in my file so that the next technician, should it not be him, would know exactly how to achieve the same caliber result. I think everyone is skeptical about this type of repair and, with a few seemingly indistinguishable competitors out there, it's hard to know where to start. However, Mr. Rooter (and Les, specifically) was a great choice, being easy to get out to your location and with no pressure to even spend any money after the house call and diagnosis. With my particular situation being the clogged main line, you can expect to pay anywhere from $350 to $750+ depending on what you need or should choose to have done. I will note that if the line is over 100ft it will be more expensive. Also, you can choose to run a drain auger or hydro-jet the line, with the later being more thorough and, thus more expensive as well. It all comes down to your house and when and how it was built. They also don't know what the source of the clog is, whether it's tree roots, sludge, a children's toy or even a broken line. After talking with Les for a while, you begin to understand why plumbers get paid what they do. Cheers to Les! I certainly hope Mr. Rooter realizes how important he is within their staff.

I politely asked them to cancel my appointment for tomorrow and scheduled an immediate sewer unplug for $20. Landyn shows up. Nice enough guy. I explain to him that I intend to use someone else to do the descaling of my sewer drain and that I would pay more for the service he is providing today. Went to his truck and called someone. I was completely up front with my intentions. Told you the whole time what I wanted. I have someone coming to do the job for $300. Which is CHEAP. Idk what kind of business model you all have. After trying a couple easy fixes Monday morning, I called Schaafsma - because I've seen their trucks and advertisements, the reviews on their website were positive, and their hours showed them open later than other companies, and I needed to get our heat going. Schaafsma was professional and friendly every step of the way. The scheduler on the phone empathized with our lack of heat and said she could get a repair crew out immediately. Within an hour a Schaafsma service crew was on site, diagnosed the problem, and recommended my money would be better spent replacing our 26 year old furnace. Salesman Greg was at our house in 30 minutes, gave a professional presentation and assessment. He worked into the evening to complete our proposal and schedule installation of our new high efficiency furnace. The installation crew was at my home at 9 am the next morning, and within 24 hours of my first call we had heat from our new furnace. They followed up the next day with new, larger ducts. Our water heater, installed nine years ago, began leaking in fall 2025 and we called Schaafsma for service. Their inspector determined that our heater had failed, so we spent $5000 on a replacement. The leak returned within a day of installation. A third employee appeared and suggested that the previous installation was faulty and fiddled around for a while. The leak returned one day later. Another inspector arrived, and he was the first person who knew what he was doing. He took one look at the expansion tank nearby, lifted it with one hand and explained that it was flooded, no longer functional and the cause of our leak. Another crew installed a replacement tank and the leaking ceased. This is my question: Why didn't the first inspector bother to conduct a simple check of the expansion tank, which is located next to the heater? Checking the tank required just one hand, no tools, and ten seconds of his time. So thanks to Schaafsma we purchased a $5000 heater when our problem was a $375 tank. I explained this fiasco over the phone and agreed to pay their second invoice but I have serious questions about their reliability. Apparently the person on the phone stopped listening after the first half of my reply, because the only response from Schaafsma was to text and mail demands for the final payment (which I paid today). As their Yelp star average reflects, Schaafsma places a higher value on $375 than on their reputation. If you are satisfied with 1-of-5 odds for a competent employee to show up at your home, Schaafsma will provide just that. If you don't wish to spend $5000 to solve a $375 problem, I strongly recommend that you seek another service.
