I was visiting my dad from out of town when I stopped in to Precision Pharmacy to grab some essentials I forgot while traveling. The staff was super helpful and kind. I'd never heard of Precision Pharmacy, and never even noticed it the hundreds of times I drove past it. The storefront is modest, doesn't shout at you in big bold neon, but once you discover it you can understand why. I wound up here because New York State's DMV seems to have realized a fundamental fact - nobody likes dealing with them. In order to keep legitimately taking your money for driver's license renewals though, they needed someone to at least check that you're not driving with the assistance of a red and white cane. Their website pointed me to Precision Pharmacy as a place that would be able to provide me an eye test and then forward the results of that onwards to the NYS DMV so I could renew my license online. Total win - I walked in, headed straight to the pharmacy counter in the back, asked about the eye test, and less than 10 minutes later and with $20 to Precision I was able to entirely skip the DMV experience for another half decade. The staff were an absolute pleasure to deal with, and I wound up lingering to marvel at the the breadth of product selection Precision has. I'll be back long before my license needs renewing to support this fine local business. read more

Matt is awesome! In fact he goes above and beyond to do everything in his power to service his customers. Not sure what others are expecting when it comes to service in pharmacies but I can tell you the chain pharmacies within close proximity do not provide the fast friendly service that Matt and Elisabeth do. Recently I needed a script transferred from out of state I called and spoke to Elisabeth and it was transferred ordered and filled with no issues. I am pretty astonished by the remarks I've read here concerning Matt, the pharmacist. He is a gem. When I've used the chain pharmacies to fill prescriptions, I am a nobody who no one knows. I call Precision and speak to Matt and he knows me. That is a big deal in today's medical world where everyone is just a number. I don't have an Rx plan and he gives me a standard discount. Now that's customer service. The counter staff is equally capable and friendly. I would never switch back to a chain. BTW: Free delivery is a big plus. read more

I purchased a shampoo and conditioner only to realized that I was allergic to it. I did not want my money back...just a credit for a shampoo that I could use. I was told to speak to Matt the Pharmacist. I frequent this pharmacy many times for over the counter items..but no more. Matt was very curt with me and his tone of voice very alarming. He told me in no uncertain terms that he could not help me.and basically told me that it was my problem. I called the manufacturer of the shampoo.. Proctor and Gamble.. and they told me they will help me by returning the shampoo and conditioner with receipt and they would issue a credit...no problem. Buyer Beware! read more

Just want to let people know that this is an awesome pharmacy with a very kind staff & pharmacist. Im done with the nasty CVS & Costco's . Yesterday I filled about 7 prescriptions some monthly prescrip and 3 emergency prescriptions. My FSA account showed a balance that would cover my costs of prescriptions. Of course after running my FSA charge, card did not go through. I did not know there is a 3 day wait time from the time the $ gets from FSA account to FSA charge card. The pharmacist kindly gave me the three emergency prescriptions and just told me to come back when funds clear. Want to also say I said I would have taken one and pharmacist reminded me that I needed to take two others with me. Greatly appreciate his old fashioned customer service and kindness. Also noticed every single person that walked in he knew by 1st name. GREAT pharmacy! read more

Fantastic local pharmacy, and really, it's much better than Kings East was: - Short turnaround times on prescriptions (they claim 15 minutes and it's usually less for me). - Everything is up to date technologically so they can easily handle electronic prescriptions. - They can easily order whatever you need, which a lot of pharmacies have issue with, and was a lifesaver in my case (I need a specific generic due to issues with an inactive ingredient in one of my medications). - They're a compounding pharmacy, so they can easily make combination medications, medications with different inactive ingredients, etc. - All of the staff is super nice, including the pharmacists, who are much more accessible than most of the pharmacists around here. They also make the most of the smallish space in terms of what over the counter products they carry. They're the model for what a neighborhood pharmacy should be and I'm glad to have them here. It makes my life easier. read more

I am a huge supporter of local businesses and go out of my way to frequent them whenever possible. When Precision Pharmacy opened on the east end of Long Beach I immediately gave them all of my business and stopped using the "big box" pharmacies. I was extremely pleased with their service, especially their employees - so friendly and helpful. I was a little disappointed that their prices were slightly higher, and then somewhat dismayed when I found that some of my prescriptions were actually DOUBLE the price as elsewhere, even with insurance - but I enjoyed the trust I developed with the pharmacists. All that changed on the day I frequented the store and the OWNER was present. I had never met the owner of the pharmacy prior to this day and this man was so obnoxious, abusive, rude, and offensive, to myself and to his employees that I was beside myself. No one needs to be treated in this manner and I for one would never do business in this establishment again. I have lived in the community for a long time and spoke very highly of this place - I will no longer do so after meeting the owner. Customers, as well as employees should be treated with respect, and this is one business owner that has a great deal to learn. read more

First and last time user of Precision Pharmacy. The pharmacist is a very nasty man, just as a few other reviewers posted. My doctor scripted Prednisone, a commonly available medication. Precision did not have any Prednisone. Instead of suggesting ordering the Prednisone for me, as other pharmacies have done in the past when a pharmacy did not have a medication, or suggesting that the doctor contact another pharmacy if the patient needed the medication immediately, which I did, the pharmacist suggested that my doctor substitute another medication, which no pharmacist has suggested. I was not informed of this, I discovered that another medication had been substituted, only after I'd paid for the medication by credit card over the phone, and it had been delivered . My doctor had scripted a small tube of a topical steroid. in error, instead of the large jar of cream he was supposed to script. When I spoke with the pharmacist over the phone, I told him that I did not want the small tube of steroid cream, and that he should deliver the Prednisone pills only.The pharmacist said he would fill and deliver the large size of topical steroid,To the best of my knowledge, a pharmacist may not fill a larger quantity of medication than that which a physician has ordered, without the doctor's approval, legally, while this worked for me, as it was the large tub that I needed, so I had him fill it. This morning,I called to ask why the pharmacist has suggested substituting another medication for the Prednisone the doctor had ordered, instead of suggesting that the doctor call another pharmacy, so that the patient could have the medication the doctor wanted. The pharmacist responded :"Do you know how to run a business?" alerting me that the suggestion of the substitution was purely a business decision on the pharmacist's part. As it happens, I do know how to run a business, as I told the pharmacist. I told the pharmacist that I wanted a credit for the medication that was substituted. He said he couldn't give me a credit, adding ."Did you open the medication " (which is in a sealed blister pack,) assuming that I had opened it. When he found I hadn't opened it, he was willing to accept a return of the medication, but wanted the cream back as well, stating " You didn't have any problem with my changing the cream. which is IDENTICAL prescription cream , in a larger size ,while the oral steroid is a different medication, not a different size. While I don't have any problem with him changing the cream, I believe that New York State would have a problem with a pharmacist changing a script in any way,without consulting a doctor, I am clawing my skin off ,needed Prednisone,and did not need this additional aggravation, and the nasty attitude of the pharmacist. In fairness to the pharmacist, while he should never have suggested that my doctor or any doctor substitute a medication that Precision has in stock, for the one the physician wants his patient to take, my doctor should not have agreed to the change, so the doctor is at fault as well. read more

This pharmacy is the best. Reliable friendly and professional group of people working there. Every time I go in I feel like family. They help me with my lousy insurance to help me get my prescriptions filled .. Unlike the big boys cvs who basically showed me the door the last time I was there. I will never go back there they don't care about their customers like these guys do... I forgot the gentlemen at the fronts name but he ran around the world and back to get me the right prescription that was covered under my insurance. Thanks guys I'll be back soon. Precision is, by far, the best Pharmacy in Long Beach! I am very happy that I transferred my prescriptions there. Everyone is very knowledgable, nice, friendly and helpful and the prices are excellent. I've hardly ever had to wait for a prescription. If I did, it was a matter of a few minutes. It's impeccably clean, they deliver and the staff makes you feel like a valued customer unlike the big pharmacy chains like CVS and Rite Aid. I am so pleased with the service I receive at Precision. From the counter person to the pharmacist, you get a smile and a hello as you approach the rear of the store. Prescription renewals can be ordered online and then you are notified by email that you script is ready for pick up. If you have any questions, the pharmacist always stops what he is doing to educate. And, finally, I just called regarding a script renewal that had no refills. The pharmacist got on the phone and confirmed the doctor's office refilled the script. The best part was that he called me by my first name and I am most comfortable being called that. read more
