He was finished with the entire task in less than 30 minutes and did a great job. Thankfully none of the pipes needed to be replaced, because the pipes and new disposal worked well together. Sometimes new pipes have to be installed, but not this time. I'm grateful for that, because it would have been a costly repair. As it stands, I will be billed for the new disposal, one-time service fee, and the labor (which costs $120/hour). I'm grateful for great customer service and comparable rates. I highly recommend this company to anyone in the Minneapolis/St. Paul vicinity.

When I scheduled the appointment, I was told there would be a $99 service fee. What I was not told was that this was essentially a diagnostic fee and did not include any actual repair work. After inspecting the disposal, the technician spent time outside "crunching numbers" and then returned with repair options ranging from $529 to over $4,000. Because the disposal was reportedly just three months beyond the warranty period, there was apparently no consideration given despite the fact that their company originally installed the unit. The most frustrating part was that only a few minutes later, the disposal was repaired. I was then presented with a $529 bill and asked to provide three separate signatures confirming that the work had been completed to my satisfaction. I felt pressured into agreeing. After waiting several days for service, having technicians already in my home, and having an unusable sink until the repair was completed, I did not feel I had much choice but to pay and sign. I hired Brass Tacks because I knew Carlton Goss from the original kitchen renovation work and trusted the company based on that experience. Unfortunately, this service call left me feeling betrayed. What should have been a straightforward repair instead felt like a high-pressure sales exercise designed to maximize revenue rather than help a customer. I also noticed negative Google reviews when I first contacted the company, but I dismissed them because of my prior positive experience. In hindsight, I wish I had paid closer attention. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Brass Tacks Plumbing. I found their pricing, sales approach, and customer service practices disappointing and would not use them again.

They have done a number of repairs for us during this time and we have always been extremely satisfied with the quality of the service we have received. They have always been prompt and courteous. The do have an emergency service which is available outside regular business hours. They are a relatively small business so we have gotten to know the employees which is always a good thing rather than having a new person every service call. Plumbers are not inexpensive but I believe that their prices are fair. I highly recommend Grabow.

Grabow Plumbing has caused 2 separate huge floods in my basement with resultant significant major…read moredamage to my property. The first time, we were gutting and renovating the main level of the house which included the kitchen. They removed the kitchen sink and alledgedly disconnected and turned off the water supply. Wrong!-- They did not completely turn off the supply and it dripped down into our basement storage area for 24 hours before it was discovered. The cost of the damage and clean-up was paid for by the general contractor who had hired them as a sub, though some things like photographs were irreplaceable. I forgave them for that one (Why I don't know!) feeling that anyone could make an error and I liked them as people. I had them do several small jobs in the interim without a problem. Several years later we began having a problem with our reverse osmosis water system they had installed during the kitchen renovation and a leak from the instant hot water. It turns out the system had never worked correctly from the beginning (we never understood why it didn't ever have enough pressure) and they came out to fix it and install a different filtering system. It took 4 visits to get this completed. On the final visit when they hooked it all back up and turned everything on a "small" leak was noted that they felt was self-contained. By that afternoon, our finished area of the basement had been flooded and we had a thoroughly saturated carpet, pad, etc. Needed Servicemaster to come out and take care of the damage, remove carpet and padding, apply chemicals to avoid bacterial and mold contamination etc. The present estimate for repair is ~$18,000.00! Grabow is disavowing any responsibility yet they can give me no plausible explanation for the leak which occurred right after they got here and emanated from the area they were working and resolved after I called them back and they came out the second time that day. I have spoken with them directly by phone and in person, by email and text. They will not stand up and take responsibility yet, again, cannot offer any plausible explanation for what happened. Because of my high deductible ($10,000) and the jump in already too high rates, I did not want to put this in as a claim, but I now have no choice and will have to pursue legal options. They then sent me a bill for $1500.00! I would NEVER use them again under any circumstances. Rick L.

It was determined that our house's sewer drains were poorly installed, with very little slope and several sharp bends. A sewer line cleaning company cleared it out, and Andy reset our new toilet. I am extremely happy with Larson Plumbing. From Amanda in the office to Andy the technician and Jim the owner, their service and attention to detail was outstanding. Thursday, November 14, 2024 we faced a suddenly, broken toilet, with water leaking across the floor and into the basement. At 8am, I called in 'a favor' since they had installed our dishwasher, and somehow they were able to get John Tomas out within 2 hours and he was able to quickly diagnose the problem. What I didn't realize was that they weren't doing me a favor coming out in less than 2 hours, they recognized a leaking toilet to be a priority, and acted quickly. Not knowing the actual issue until arriving, some parts were needed so while he was here John realized our bathroom faucet cartridge was shot, so he offered to fix both the faucet and the toilet after getting the necessary parts.
