Absolutely horrific. Took my car there-rebuilt the trans, then it was in the shop each week for 5 weeks always with a "new code." Dominic the owner had the audacity to question me when I said I wanted my money back. Pathetic owners, terrible staff, awful repairs. My brother-in-law's 2003 Ford Escape with 117K miles on it had its transmission fail on the road last week in Villa Park. I called my mechanic at Hi-Tech in Westmont (another great place) and they referred me to Precision Transmission. I called and Kim picked up right away, diagnosed the issue over the phone and set up the tow, which was an hour or so out. She offered to come over to where we were at and drive the car to a safe spot, since we were on a busy street and rush hour was coming up. She and Dominick got to us in 20 minutes and i have to say they both were so nice and accommodating! We opted to replace the transmission with a rebuilt one and the car was in the shop for 5 days (towed on Thursday, got it back the following Tuesday). They called me yesterday to tell me the driver's side front axle was broken and it would need repair, costing $210 more. I said fine go ahead and fix it. I went and picked up the car and they did charge me the $210 but didn't include labor! They just tacked it onto the reasonable original quote! I thought that was incredible. When i went to pick it up Kim explained what to look for going forward and gave some great information for a car this old. I can't say enough about the service here. My car was making a knocking noise which I thought was coming from the transmission or axle. The brakes and rotors were replaced on the car about 1 month before the noise started though. Before going to the shop I removed the tires, checked the calipers and pads, checked the tires, and made sure lug nuts were good when mounting the tires again. The staff at Precision treated me like family when I walked through the door. Kim up front checked me in quickly and had someone looking at my car immediately. A couple of the mechanics and the owner Dom himself took a look at the car. The issue was with the recently replaced brake pads which surprised me. The issue was resolved quickly. Precision could have tried to make some money and do an axle replacement or trans work but they didn't. I appreciate the honesty. The communication, service and work was top notch. I had my Saturn Aura trans rebuilt at 154k in July 2016 my transmission just broke down again last night at 175k I will never recommend this place.. the rebuilt trans only gave me 21k I paid 2,500 read more

A friend of mine is a mechanic and told me his shop typically works with Precision when someone has transmission issues. My 2012 Chevy Cruze essentially had a total transmission failure at 68k miles (don't get me started). When I called the owner, Dom, and told him what was going on, he was incredibly friendly and helpful. The tow was much less than I anticipated and the quote was a fair price (almost comparable to me buying my own transmission and paying a private repair guy to do it), but this work came with a 2-year/24k mile warranty with the work, which you can't really beat. Kim and Dom were both incredibly flexible and accommodating with everything I needed. The car was done in about 3 days time, which was also pleasant (I anticipated over a week). If I have any transmission issues in the future, I will certainly be contacting Precision again. read more

Came in with one problem, yes they solved it but I left with another problem in which may be worse than the initial problem...On top of being lied to about needing a large repair (which had nothing to do with the job being done) when I had already had the problem checked out by another mechanic previously. read more

Had a rebuilt transmission put in my Lexus and it drives great. After speaking with them for a few minutes I knew this was the right shop to bring my vehicle. Not only did I get a great deal on my rebuilt transmission, they also suggested other failing parts to replace that I'll admit were really really old and only charged me the cost of the part with free labor so needless to say my car drives fantastic and is road worthy thanks to Precision =) read more
